It's about time they released the car. After so many leaks of the actual car, especially with Fate of the Furious, I was saying "Just unveil the damn thing already! We all know what it looks like. Quit dragging things out for your idiotic marketing team."

Chrysler drags things out just as long as Playground Games does.

some are saying 3.9 is the displacement of the SC (which is insanely large) 221 in Km translate to 137Mph which seem realistic although SRT using Metric system in America is idiotic. 405 is something i dont know. some think its the extra 405hp the SC is putting out.

3.9 rear axle ratio + 221hp = 405 section tires?

The cancerous chatbox is more entertaining than hearing this bonehead run his mouth with marketing speak.

FINALLY they brought the car out.

I love the awkward silence as they fireworks went off and the car slowly drove back to center stage.

The biggest question is, with all of that bespoke equipment, how much will it cost?

Also, the press conference is both hilarious and annoying at the same time. Hilarious due Dodge just not giving a 🤬 about anything (Really? One dollar for a front seat?), but a little annoying when they act as if they're somehow 'gutsier' than everyone else because they built a niche car. Good for you Dodge, you have more power than everyone else and said some swears at a press conference. How edgy . Besides that I also question the long term durability of some of this stuff, like the AC cooling the intake or the supercharger pre-boosting, considering they're all completely new systems that may or may not be engineered well.

So, from the comments of the Jalopnik article on the Demon, this is interesting on why the NHRA banned it:

The reason it is “banned” is because you need a roll cage (not just a bar), window net, NHRA Competition License to go quicker than 9.99, full fire suit, and fire gloves. And it’s only a few MPH away from needing a parachute. (150 mph trap speed makes that a requirement)

Dodge better make sure that those systems are up to snuff, because like you said, if they aren't then they have a lot of angry drag racers at their door.

So, it should be mentioned, the Demon, as much as Dodge likes to say it's a drag car ready for the strip from the showroom floor, is pretty much anything but.

Y'know, I think they could've easily designed all of the safety equipment (and at least made optional or a different version of the Demon) needed to certify it in the NHRA, but decided it would sound cooler to say it's soo good that they banned it.

...Now that I think of it, since it's supposed to be a street and strip car yet banned from use in the largest drag racing body in the US, what purpose does the Demon really end up serving then? Could it even be used at an open track day?

Well, we shall see when some poor sod decides to take his 840 HP Demon and kills himself on a non-sanctioned NHRA drag day.

Also should be hilarious to see how much egg Dodge has on their face when the Tesla P100D still kicks it's ass.
