These guys don't bash America nearly as much as they bash Porsche...
"Porsche design: The least a man can get."
Good times. XD

Delphic ReasonHere's a news flash, they can't really go off road, especially the RWD model he tested (Mud puddles are hardly "off road")... Loving ones country is great (I love the US)... However, loving it to the point of being blinded to anything else is moronic...
Yes, a lot of stupid Americans think such things, just like a lot of stupid British people also think such things... I do not generalise to such a degree because it just makes you seem ignorant...
I'm sorry you hate the original show so much, but a lot of us here love it, myself included... An Americanized version could be a good thing, but if History teaches us anything, it will fail miserably, or just be unwatcheable to those that loved the original...

live4speedGenrally American's might like it more because it won't feature Brit humour, I doubt we'll find it very funny. Clarkson said TopGear is shown all over the world, Germany, Russia, Japan, but the only place they had to re-edit the show and re-do some scenes was for the US.
filthyfish"American Top Gear", please god, no! I love the UK Top Gear because of the British humor, and the variety of autos that I dont get to experience in the states. I just buy the dvds of Top Gear and Fifth Gear, I picked up a NTSC/PAL dvd player cheap somewhere, and watch the real Stig whenever I want.
Also, if you live in the US and love the show, subscribe to Top Gear magazine. I get it here for about $175US, a year, well worth every penny! Much more content per issue that most american mags.
Hold on.Robin ///////HahahahaI would really love to see the americanised top gear, im sure it would be really entertaining, no doubt jeremy will have plenty to say about this!
You what!!!Robin ///////americanised top gear really entertaining
live4speedHold on.
You what!!!
Actually this is the most recent thread about Top Gear, and the one used for general Top Gear chat. This doesn't really have to do with Top Gear on Discovery Channel, but I did a search for "Top Gear" and this is the most recent thread on the subject so here goes...
I've been catching up with last year's episodes on BBC America and BBC VOD. So far I'm up to episode #73 (Series 8:7 - 23 July 2006).
As always, the "challenges" have been the most entertaining again so far. I especially liked the convertible people carrier, amphibious vehicle conversions, and the absolutely brilliant comedy sketch that was "caravan holiday in Dorset".
Any way, I doubt I'll have time to watch all the remaining episodes, so from Episode #74 through the last episode, #82, which of them would you recommend the most?
Thanks.
