First of all, only one of those Glendales is called a "ghost car". The reason being that it has been placed awkwardly on a hill, and occasionally when it spawns, it can slide down the hill. It's nothing but bad placement (or purposeful?) by Rockstar.

Second of all, Pink_The_Floyd, you can also find a parachute on top of Mount Chiliad on the rocks in front of the Camper Van (Journey) and Kombi (Camper), and there's a jumping platform on the opposite side of the mountain.

I noiced this. I trying to take over the last of the LS territories and decided to use a bike so as to get my skill up enough to do mt chilliad. I used the rocket launcher a couple of times, and it did hit my bike. And I kept getting set on fire. Even though I was quite a distance from it. :odd:
 
Well looks like there is nothing special about these things, why do we make so much roumor about it??


BTW: The rocket launcher and the bike doesn't seem something special to me.
 
There are rumors that leatherface is in the game.In the panopticon.
 
ok i read the first 10 or so pages of this thread. I got real excited about all this stuff. Check them out and what a let down. Can anyone recap what was actually true in the game. I know the Glendales just spawn and roll around but what else? You guys are kinda like SA Myth Busters :)
 
Yeah I'm in the hunt for these things, but the true things are the spawning Glendales, the haunted house at Prickle Pine, and a few other things

UFOs... hmm this is kinda possible coz when I was in the back oh beyond area, on the map there is like 2 Horse hooves and a small lake and a quad bike at night, in the fog. First
a car rolls down the hill infront of me... freaked me out actualy lol and then the guy on the radio said somthin this is how they want it 2 be, foggy... so we carn't see them... the ailens of course....Altho this happend I never saw anythin more strange than usual.

No location. Is you fire a rocket launcher at a bicycle (doesn't matter what kind), you'll catch fire within seconds, no matter how far away from the bike you are.

Prickle Pine is the area in the North of Las Venturas. It's the buyable house there that everyone goes on about.

The only noise I've ever heard in Prickle Pine is CJ's breathing. He does that anywhere indoors where you go into a dark corner. It's so you know that you're hidden from enemies. Has anyone heard anything else in Prickle Pine?

It's not anything paranormal or spooky though. That just sounds like a weird bug.

Is the fog in Back o Beyond any different than the fog anywhere else? Is there anything special about it?

Ever seen the Texas Chainsaw Massacre? The head psycho in that was called Leatherface. There's a rumour that at the abandoned farm at the Panopticon he sometimes appears with a chainsaw and attacks you.

I think someone just made it up because Texas Chainsaw Massacre was set in an old farm in the middle of nowhere.

There's nothing to it. I've yet to see any evidence or proof for it.

ok i did some running around and checking........the only thing that i got was about the UFO's. IF you fly at night you will see a red or white light streaking across the sky. it leaves a trail like a airliner but it doesn't show up on your radar and there is now way to catch up to it. The only thing you can do is cut one off if you see it but no matter how close you get you can just see the light. Anyone else see this. I have no way to capture images direct but i will snap a pic of the tv if you guys haven't seen them yet.

I think they're supposed to look like aeroplanes from the ground.
 
but that would still make them a UFO if noone knows what they really are adn they don't show up on radar. Not saying they are aliens but that seems to be a UFO, IMO.

The ghost car thing is funny because you know someone just got hit by it while it was rolling down the hill and then freaked out. :dopey:

I think some of the leatherface pics on the Interweb are CJ with a chainsaw and hocket mask. There's some way of getting gang memebrs to take a picture of CJ.

1: I've Finished Upgrading A Super GT And It Crashed Near My Garage.

2: When I Was Doing A Quarry Mission.

3:When I Was Near The Sherman Dam.

In A Thread Called Images From San Andreas, Someone Posted A Plane Crash. That Plane Was The Rustler.

I've seen dozens of plane crashes.

Go to the quarry and drive around for a while. Because the game calculate the plane heights based on your height, they spawn a few hundred feet above you, but still in the quarry, so they crash into the quarry walls.

Also, to see the same thing, drive around Mt. Chiliad for a while. Planes will eventually spawn and hit the mountainside.

Nothing particularly ghostly or spooky about this.

Doesn't explain why a Nevada dropped out of the sky on me just outside the AmmuNation in south LV.
I had a police car fall out of nowhere in front of me a few blocks from there, too.

Still nothing ghosty, just more glitches.
 
Cant be bothered to read most of this thread, so forgive me if I state the obvious...

Just found one of the so called "ghost cars", I have tried to get it resprayed several times, the car changes colour but the damage stays the same...

now I'm off to search for a yeti.

Update:

"The Haunted House"

Spent a good 30 minutes (real life) searching this house. The heavy sound of breathing (CJs?) follows you around the ground floor of this house, even though the CJ arrow isn't blue, there are occasional bleeps from the tv (it's off) and light footsteps can somtimes be audible.

The only really freeky part of house is the bedroom, somewhere between six and ten the light in it turns red, it continues to grow in intensity up to its strongest point (about 4am) at this point is is a very bright, unmistakable red akin to a safety light (in a darkroom dealing with black and white prints.)

At about 6 am it slowly turns back to white and about 7 am it goes off altogether.
 
Dude..thats scary. Ive expirenced so many plance crashes. I think R* put it in there to simulate real life. You know every now and then a plane does crash.
Also my friend, his cousin works for R*, or review a lot of R* games, and he said that his cousin got this early version that after you beat the game, a pay phone all the way in the desert will ring, and you do this mission where you go back to CJ's house and you look for this guy, then you return it to a drop point. He also said that his version, you can get into CJ's backyard and you can see a tombstone of his mom, and at a certain she comes and looks like shes gonna kill you but she goes right through you. He could be lieing. Hes one of my friends that either lie or exagerate a lot.
 
I´ve seen Leatherface. It was at the area where you do the forest races for Cesar at the scond island. I had just flipped my car and failed the mission when I got attacked by a guy with a chainsaw, I didn´t think about it much then before I read about the rumors, but now I´m sure it was him. Not lying. Honest.

I'm currently hunting around the family house armed only with a camera and a desert eagle. So far nothing but I will keep looking.

Update 3: anyone who doubts that he haunted cars are special should take one to a Pay&Spray. They all have the phenomenon that I have highlighed in an earlier post.

Update 4:
I have just finished my 2 virtual week photo tour of the the Johnson family house. Nothing, I have come to the inevitable decision that the family house is NOT haunted!
