We've had both while I was in school, actually.. Certain wings of the high school weren't air conditioned, and a couple mornings where it was below zero got canceled.

I didn't know there were places in the Midwest that weren't air conditioned... They've actually started calling snow days "weather days" in Seattle because the last few years school has been canceled more often for windstorms and things than snow.

Moar snow here. Though there's only an inch, and it's melting.

Have you guys had any more since the beginning of the month? What a wacky winter there. More snow this year than I remember seeing total since 1996.

Does it ever get canceled up in North Dakota due to cold?
On the extremely rare occasion that it's so cold they advise, nay, require no travel, then, obviously, yes. Doesn't happen all that often, though.

Did I get all my commas in the right places?

-5, feels like -22 now. Looks like this craptacular weather is supposed to last another week and then we should have a pretty nice week after that. We'll see...

It was also sunny and snowy for a little bit here. It reminded me of home. Now it's overcast and snowing rather lightly.

They used to before they had air conditioning. I'm not sure but they might still do it if it's really hot.

41C Tuesday, 41 Wednesday, 41 Thursday. We're in for a terribly hot week. :( I hope school gets cancelled. :nervous:

. I hope so. It's so hot! Getting sick of it now. Oh well. When it's winter i'll probably be sick of the cold too.

We had TWO 70 degree days last week!

-9F right now. Pretty warm compared to last week. :P

44C today, first heatwave of the year predicted for this week. Cool change of 36C Saturday, a bit cooler compared to this week. :P

EDIT: 47C at Coober Pedy.

We've had about a half inch of snow so far tonight. Between 1 and 3 inches are expected tonight and tomorrow morning--which means the snow is over. Tuesday night leading into Wednesday we're suppose to gather another 3 to 6 inches--which means we'll get about two inches. Overall they expect 4 to 9 inches for the area--which means we'll end up with about 3 inches total. And don't forget about our roads. We have these trucks that turn it glossy black with the hour and ruin all the fun.

I was leaving my neighborhood earlier to get some McDonald's and try out the roads. The main 4 lane road crossing the road I was on has a downhill section right before the intersection that always fools 'em. It fooled 'em. This Taurus was coming down and the light turned yellow. They just had to stop, even though I was completely aware of them as they locked their brakes, turned the steering wheel full-lock to the left, and slid down the hill, riding the curb for about 70 feet. Nice. I gave them a friendly honk and wave and continued on my way, going the speed limit and handling the car almost like normal.

47C! It was only 25C here today, but we are also expecting a big heat wave in the next week.

Tough for the tennis players in Melbourne with this weather.

4-6 Inches of powdery snow here plus 2-4 more with a wintry mix and why on earth do people think it's necessary to grocery shop before a mild snowstorm? THIS KIND OF SNOW WILL NOT GET YOU STUCK IN! You are able to drive in this weather, it's just a little slower. It was miserable at the grocery yesterday :(

Actually... on my drive to work this morning the Civic said -15 but as I have no proof, the -13 will have to do.

Its a relative heatwave when we're sitting at 5F then? Its not all that bad actually, the sun is out, and there really isn't any wind to speak of. Crank the temperature up by about 20-25F and I'd call it a "perfect" winter day!

Well, it was in the teens over night and we got about 3 inches of snow and sleet, with it getting in the 20s today with freezing rain and possible snow and sleet tonight. It took me an hour and a half to get to work.

Talking to my brother near Cincy, they got near 7 inches in some areas.

This is awful. We've had a really bad cold snap recently and it's just as frigid as can be outside. Right now it's 43F outside. Sure the sun is out, and that helps, but it's still so cold - I had to wear a jacket to work. The high is only 63F today, which is still really low. I'll be happy when tomorrow gets here and the high goes up to 70.

Brrrrr, a couple of days with this kind of winter weather and I'm ready for spring!!

:P

^^^ We were having that kind of stuff in Seattle and I have to say that it really doesn't feel much warmer at all than it does here in Michigan. Wetness just makes everything worse.

We were down at 4 degrees this morning and I was thinking our heat wave was gone, but it's 20 degrees now so I'm not worried.

Finally, finally we got about 3 inches of snow very early Tuesday morning. I was out at 2:30 AM driving around checking out the start of it. I slept for a few and got up at 6 AM while there was still plenty on the ground and chugged around. Great fun. There was a ridiculous amount of cars out that early, too. During midday it changed to light sleet and has been sleeting ever since. My buddies and I have been out driving in it all day--after riding in their cars I have to say I'm extremely impressed with how the Blizzaks are working. I guess you could say I "raced" a 4x4 Nissan Titan from a packed snowy/slushy/sleety stop light and I could almost keep up. And then of course we had to stop at the next light and he slid halfway into the intersection--I guess he didn't realize every car is already 4-wheel-brake...:D Snow tires FTW.

We're expecting about 6 more inches later this morning, and I'll be up to catch the best of it. Thank goodness for being laid off!
