Middle of winter, but first day all week that there hasn't been rain. Current temperature where I'm sitting is 17.8 C, outside it's 12.5.

I'm off to Canberra soon, apparently there it's a good day if it hits 10 C, brrrr

It was sunny and probably around 80 today. It's supposed to be well into the 80s for the next couple days as well. Humid too. I could have sworn I was in Seattle but I'm starting to wonder if I somehow got on the wrong plane or we all moved or something.

We need some of that rain here. We've had probably less than an inch in the last two months. And this is Seattle... :ill:

Oh dear. We've been in a huge drought here (I'm on my family's farm instead of in the city right now) but this rain is lifting spirits a little bit. Needs to keep on raining though, not like last year where we had a great start, then it all burnt off :(

Take some of Queensland's water - they've got too much lol

Midwest is closer. My college was flooded about a week or so ago... I'm sure they'd pay us to take some of their rain.

Beautiful early-morning sunshine, and it's only 5:30am. 👍

Looks like it'll be another hot and sunny day, although a shower would be welcome, we've gone 2 weeks without rain.

We don't usually get anywhere near an inch in the warmer half of the year... until late may, we had about 10mm of rain snce January. I wouldn't complain.

In an ecosystem that developed having plenty of rain, and also a city that relies on having plenty of rain, it is a pretty serious issue. They're predicting that we're going to be seeing some pretty intense wildfires this summer... :nervous:

OK maybe I made a bit of a generalisation with my last post there, but around here it's been a bit sunny with cloud. Just general weather, nothing interesting at all.

Really? Sunshine all day again down here. Down here being 5 miles west of Greater London. And a nice temperature too, it wasn't too hot, but pleasantly warm, let's say. 👍

Sounds like we might have a derecho headed towards us in the early morning. :scared:

Just started raining yet again in NSW.:( It's been very cold and miserable lately where I live. It's getting down to 0C or below most nights now.:nervous:

Maybe you got our rain Mad. It was raining heavily days ago but seems to have disappeared since Tuesday. So right now, we are getting sunny days up in my part of QLD. :D

It only got up to 72 today with mostly cloudy skies. This is the weirdest summer I remember in a long time, it's July and it's not even remotely hot outside.

I would like some of the rain! Scary though, it's never gone below 0C overnight here as far as i know...

 You love the rain don't you? Here it has just rained on and off all day. Just clouds constantly overhead today.

We're in a drought, and i'm near farmland. We need it. I heard though we got above average for June about halfway through the month.

Ok, so Seattle needs some decent rain ASAP. All of the ground is brown and they're predicting epic forest fires up here this year. And it's only July.

The sun was all nice and pretty and dandy and all, but with everything less that four feet tall being dead now, this drought thing is really getting old very fast. The ground seriously looks like late September and it's only the beginning of the dry season. :nervous: Considering we've only had one rainfall since the 19th of May, yeah. it's bad.

The weather guys here say July and August are the dryest months here. I am about 20 miles north of Seattle.

Oh you're from around here too? Cool!

Yeah, July and August are the driest months of the year by far. And that's why I'm super scared for this summer, because the ecosystem has already been suffering through the usual time of dryness we get per year. But we're only halfway done this year.

We usually get less than 10mm over the warmer half of the year... :ouch:

I heard on the news today that droughts and bushfires will be worse due to global warming... :scared:

So, over the whole of last week I have had two inches of rain. We had a half inch on Sunday and then an inch and a half Friday night. My yard is growing out of control and my vegetable garden is getting too much water. My squash plants are having their leaves break off due to the amount of downward pressure caused by the rain.

It's cold here, when I got up this morning it was in the low 50's. Only supposed to be 78 today with no rain in sight. I hope my lawn doesn't burn up.
