Our non major roads are frozen over, but sanded, the first time they sanded in several years. Some are more iffy than others. There seem to be little to no problems with driving. Anything not on roads hasn't melted at all. Still about 4-5 inches. Powdery too. Looks like I'll have school tomorrow. Gotta start the HW I was supposed to do tuesday night.

It be crazy here yo!

I had a nice 40°C day today. Went to a friends house for a swim in the pool. Summer is great. :sly:

All the snow we got was wet. Enough to stick but most of it is gone now.

Never go bike riding in the slush around 30º on shorts and a sweatshirt. I got frostbite yesterday. It was cool. My knee was black.

I wish we would get some snow here, we got like 2 inches the other day and now its just REALLY cold. Its not going to get any warmer soon either which is fine as long as the river in my backyard freezes.

O M F G !!!!!!

Rain! We had rain! so much rain

40mm expected over the next couple of days! 40!

Forgotten what rain is like, just as our tank got so low it was picking rust off the bottom of it, we than had to switch to Murray water, we're hopefully better now.:)

The weather here has been just right for summer, I reckon. It was around 35C but still quite comfortable. 👍

Bloody windy weatherfront over blighty at the moment. It's about 90mph over the coast, and just as I speak we've lost a 4th fence panel!

All I keep hearing about is all this rain our state is getting, yet Adelaide itself has had hardly any. :(

We just lost our fences on both sides of the front garden :scared: 80mph + over Manchester at the moment with no signs of letting up ... looks like something out of the wizard of oz and half expect to see the wicked witch fly past the window :sly:

Time to unpack the kites eh :dopey: 👍

We were in Kadina, it was pouring, but when we got home, it hadn't had as much, still plenty:)

I heard some 4 or 5 year old kids up north a while ago saw rain for the first time!:scared:

Tell me about it, everythings flying everywhere here. Wheelie bins are crossing roads as fast as traffic normally drives down them.

I had to move the car, it kept getting hit by wheelie bins and the alarm kept going off every 15 mins.

I'm dreading having to go get the kids from school, here's what it's done to our/neighbours fences

Get out there and cut that grass!

Looks & sounds nasty down there. Its very calm up here at the minute. Been rainy (with a wee bit of sleet thrown in) all day though.

Oh well, one plus side of this nasty wind - my boss can't make it back to work for our meeting this afternoon :sly:👍 Pub anyone? :P

I don't think the neighbours are going to like what they see in their back garden!

It's lucky the big fir tree behind them fell the other way :scared:

WOW, the best wind i've seen is about 80km/hr, that blew a section of our roof off. 90mph????:scared:

This is in the channel so no worries for us.

Storms passed now thankfully.

We've got 2 huge fir trees in the back, about 60 foot high, if they fell they'd probably hit any of the four houses around it. Must weight well over a dozen tonnes too.

They certainly are not going to be happy chaps when they get home. It seems to look alot worse than it really is though, by the looks of things some of them fence panels will just slide back into the posts although a couple of new ones will certainly be needed. The wind down here in Kent isn't as bad as some places though, the weather reports our highest wind speed at "just" 47mph, however my house sits on the edge of the wield so were pretty open to all winds coming from the south

*goes home from work quickly to check garden fences are still in place*

Spec....

At work the chimney just fell off our building. There was a large lump hanging right on the edge. I phoned the fire brigade as the local council couldn't get anyone out.

Fire brigade phoned back an hour and said :

"Is it life threatening?".

I replied "Well yes, the chimney has fallen downand there is a huge lump hanging on the edge of the building"

Fire Brigade: "We have other life threatening emergencies so we won't be able to get out until tomorrow morning"

That was it. An hour later a fire engine turns up but the problem has already sorted by our own roofers. They put some emergency tape out and leave. Half hour later another fire engine turns up.

Just like buses. You wait for an hour then two turn up.

I'll try and get the photos up later on.

and today we got like 10 inches of snow. on top of ice. = slippy roads.

Why we should all drive jet cars.

Though we'd have to find a way for it to point forward without sending us backwards or it might defeat the object of driving forward....

8 people killed in the UK is the latest figure.

Mark, emergency tape for a chimney? :D

So as per January 18th 2007, we have ladies and gentlemen, New York's first snow storm. Well, not exactly a storm but damn it was about time!

I wish i could get a phoho, this is just AMAZING, it poured all night here, it is incredible, i think we got about 10mm out there.

I'll just get wet and go out and check the rain guage:)

Edit: I'm soaked, we had about 12mm.:)
