Hooray, the video works! After I got inside after getting the mail (New issue of Chevrolet High Performance and my W-2 forms). I noticed the Bobcat was out clearing the other parts of the neighborhood, and thankfully I could see them from my window. Check out the ice on the roof too...

The video probably won't be ready for a few minutes...

I thought it was bad there when it was 18º tops. Wow.That's realy bad. I would have a lot too look forward to if I went to school there next year:nervous:

Here, it is a (more) pleasant 40 ish degrees. We are also getting some rain, but nothing bad.

That's just insane. I don't know whether or not to call you insane or stupid for living there! Sorry, I could never see myself living there.

I guess I'm a spoiled SoCal brat.

Anyone else in Queensland hear about the mini-tornado that hit Laidley? My parents live at Plainland, about 5 kilometres from Laidley, and my dad said that the trees up the back were literally swirling around in circles. He said that we also got about a metre or more of rain in the dam in about half an hour.

No no no, we’re just “weather aware” when choosing a place to live. :sly:

(And maybe smarter!)
I dare you both to come say that to my face, chickens. 👎:grumpy:

Another forecast so you all can feel a bit better about yourselves:

That's right. Minus thirty-eight. With only a 9mph wind...

You could have a tiny dam though?

There really isn't much you can do about it. The overwhelming majority of the year is quite nice in Michigan, so we just have to make a gamble with the whole "lake-effect" snow deal. To be honest, this is the only "major" snow we've had this year, outside of a small snow storm in October. Not too bad on the whole, but the hard part is that it is too cold, too windy, and still snowing a bit too much to get anything done. All of the local schools have allready called-off, and I've already told my professors that I'm probably not coming to class tomorrow.

-12? Dang. It's 6 here. Must be rough over there in Chillicothe.

Its -3*F right now, but the wind-chill is hovering around -22*F. This is hell on my car, which refuses to start. I'm going to have to get it checked out tomorrow...

Here, the temperature has been hovering between -10°F and 10°F for the last couple of days, and seems set to do so for the rest of the week. As far as wind chill goes, just subtract about 15 degrees. At this very moment, it's -12°F (-24°C) with a -26°F (-32°C) wind chill, according to the airport. Makes sense considering it's dark outside.

My car hasn't had any trouble starting, but the transmission fluid has certainly had happier days. If I let out the clutch in neutral right after starting the car, my engine bogs down, and shifting is like trying to stir ice cream that's been sitting in the freezer for months.

-23° F at 7:30am.

Again.

Without a wind chill, as there is currently no wind.

We've had thick fog all through the weekend here, it's just within the last couple of hours dissapeared.

This is the coldest I have seen it in over 10 years. I am in Michigan. It was -3F this morning. The high is going to be 9 degrees F. The wind chill was around -30f yesterday and we were sledding on hills. Yes the sleds you sit on and slide down hills. It was brutal cold.

all you guys complaing about -20 temperatures....
phhh, that's like suntanning weather compared to this:

-47C (-53F) with the windchill... and there's hardly any wind to speak of. If it picked up a bit we'd easily be -55C or so.

Welcome to Winnipeg. :grumpy:

Holy CRAP!!!! I thought our -3 was bad but wow -39f!!! I am shocked anything would start at that temperature. My quad for plowing was dead. I had to jump the battery with our cars which barely started. I cant imagine -39f!! Luckily last weeek I made sure our 2 daily drivers had 5-30 weight oil. Made them start eaiser.

It's like this:
You step outside, and can actually feel your individual nose hairs freezing.

My car started, but only because I had the block heater plugged in overnight. It wasn't happy though... creaking and moaning over every bump in the road. It felt like the frame was gonna snap in half at any second.

Celsius not fahrenheit. Unless the f was for an imaginative word.

I hate you. Nearly all the public schools were closed this morning. Why? Because the air was cold. WTF?

Pansies.

You know what we do when it gets cold? I went shopping for a new vacuum cleaner yesterday.

Oh my, what’s this? Oh, it’s pleasant weather! How novel.
