Isn't that the mississippi?

It's freezing again. I guess the winter has started. I need to put on my winter tires.

My first contribution to the thread...

OK, so I'm from the Philadelphia area, where there has already been snow...we've had temperatures in the low 80s here in South Carolina all week. Of course, it's expected to be in the mid 50s and windy here on Sunday when I fly back home, and at home it will be mid 30s with wind and snow (i.e. blizzard) conditions...so my flight is likely to be delayed.

Joy. :grumpy:

Nope. That would be the Red River. It flows north between North Dakota and Minnesota and up to Winnipeg.

I need to put on my winter tires.
Don't forget to change out the summer air in those tires. :dopey:

It's about 30 outside right now with more freezing rain mixed with snow. Driving to work this morning sort of sucked...I think I need winter tires as well.

How fun. It's a beautiful 36 right now, cloudy but no rain. The wind in a bit bothersome though.

and in the wonderful state of Indiana... we are expecting a winter storm.. so right now its cool and cloudy.... so we are waiting for it... see ya guys... :) ---- Randy

We've got snow coming down right now. Sunday I think we're expecting blizzard-like conditions and possibly a northeaster.

Looks like it'll snow here in Holland over the weekend.

Tomorrow, I will be greeted at home by *BIG SURPRISE*.....

rain.

Rain is scheduled for every day of the longest forcast. I'm pumped.

-7F, 3mph wind, high of 7.

Wow. Saturday's high is 20! Shorts, here I come!

It quite warm here. It was about 40 when I got home. And I had the windshield wipers going all night too. Quite windy too. It feels like home.

The sun is poking through occasionally, which is unheard of in December. Still cold and drizzly, though. At least it's 70 degrees inside :).

Southern Ontario is going to get blasted with a huge snow storm tonight. We're expecting snow as high as 20-40cm. They're telling us to have emergency supplies and food in stock as some regions might lose power.

We are slated to get about 15 inches of snow though today, tonight and tomorrow....I'm not really thrilled.

Northern Ontario is expecting 50cm. It's not really looking good at all.

Why does it start dumping snow there right after I leave?

I guess you kept it at bay, we have at least 10 inches on the ground and are slated to get 6-10 more throughout the day...this sucks.

We got more than 10 on the ground right now. We've got about 10 more inches from what we had last night but we're suppose to be getting quite a bit more too.

Well the storm started late last night and is still going on. I don't think I can get my dad's Mazda Tribute out of the driveway!

Nothing yet today. Maybe later tonight. I do need practice driving in the wet though.

I think I'm officially disappointed about this. Why couldn't it have come a week earlier? I came to Michigan partly for the snow and I missed what will probably be the biggest of the year. This sucks.:grumpy:

No we will get a big snow towards the end of January if past years have been any indication. We ended up with about 11 inches on this side of the state...but it's supposed to be almost 40 tomorrow with a chance of rain and overcast skies all day.

That makes me feel better. I would assume it only gets better with lake effect going? Although I did hear we were supposed to have a dry year with "only" around 60 inches. It just seems like that would take away chances for another huge snowstorm.

It doesn't matter what the weather people say in Michigan...they are always wrong. Lake effect snow can get pretty bad. YSS can give you more info on that since we don't get it on this side of the state.
