It definitely warming up here. I had a pretty sad moment when I got to realizing how much I will miss the days when I have to have at least a sweatshirt on to go to class. I think we've been rocking the upper 30s for the last few days. It's 36 right now. At 3:30 AM.

Farenheit or Celcius? 36F is like 2C which i've never experienced it's so cold. :scared:

And all us Australians can do is ignore the notion that a drought-ending wave of rain is ever to occur. Worst thing is, in all this ~40c weather, all that will follow is anything but rain. La Nina please arive; we're so screwed.

I think spring is finally coming to Michigan. 45 and rainy/snow today.

8:44 in the morning and it's already 31°F, looking at 42° for the high with 14mph winds. There should be plenty of snow melting going on today.

I...I can see... Grass!!

Three days in a row of thawing. I'm in heaven. :dopey: Campus is turning into that slushy brown mess you described earlier.

Fahrenheit. That's pretty warm considering we've been under 20 for most of the last few months.

Now it's 45 and sunny. I don't even know what to do about this.

The grass is also all brown. I'm having trouble contemplating brown grass in the winter when it was already so green in the summer.

This is your first winter/spring transition in the Midwest isn't it?

Don't worry it will need to be mowed on a weekly basis in about a month. Well, Michigan may have to wait two months. But right now I am already looking into getting my lawn mower serviced for this spring.

Yep. And I'll probably miss the most of it, seeing that it might happen over the week I'm gone or we might be in winter until I leave for home in a month and a half.

It's pretty different from the usual green grass in winter and brown weeds in summer that we get at home.

Garden supply stores down here are already selling fertilizer, mulch, etc.

I'm getting ready to go weed out my garden and start starter plants indoors.

I actually expect to see all the green return after this weekend because it is going to be near 70 with rain and then a couple of mild sunny days. It will be perfect Spring grow back weather.

It's just how we work. After the first frost it all turns brown and then March into April everything turns green. Farmers know the exact date to safely start planting unprotected crops. That would be the first weekend in May for me.

Random heatwave at the moment.

Today: 40C (104F)
Sat:38C (100.5F)
Sun:38C (100.5F)
Mon:38C (100.5F)

It's pretty late in the year to have weather like this, I can't remember the last time we above 40C this late in March.

I think spring is finally coming to Michigan. 45 and rainy/snow today.

There was a jackoff out there on his R1 (R6?) today, got a photo on the RAZR. Sad, I don't feel like putting it on right now...

Rule of thumb:

When the bikes are out, spring is officially here!

It's been pretty nice here. There was a lot of rain in some areas we drove to today but it has yet to rain here in Burien this week. I assume we'll see some wet in the next day or two.

Having not seen rain in three months, it really is nice though.

The heatwave has finally ended, it only reached about 30C yesterday, and got kind of chilly at night.

btw, did anyone in the midwest get whopped with a weekly snowstorm like we got hit with a weekly icestorm here through February?

there's a new reason that I know it's thawing toward spring. the Gulls show up at the mall. we must be in their migratory flight path.

It's just been raining here for days, although tomorrow it's supposed to be 40 and sunny.

Awesome so far today - sunny and 37°F with a slight breeze.

It was sunny most of today and finally started raining at about 5 or 6 tonight and has been off and on since. And apparently I'm the only one here who doesn't think that 42 is terrifyingly cold.

there must not be any minnesotans or Prarie Province people active enough to reply. :P

believe me, after a winter where the day-high won't get past fifteen for a week, even 32 feels warm. when we get those actic fronts, we call em Alberta Clippers.

You're used to Michigan apparently. Its downright hot...

BTW: You're missing out, we're supposed to get three inches of snow tonight!

I'm used to winter at least. Getting used to that hot, humid summer will take some time methinks.

Anybody else think it's a little ironic that I'm missing a snowstorm on Spring Break? Maybe I'm just used to a winter that's already over and break at the end of April. It would be fun to be over in that snow right now. Great way to celebrate the coming of spring!

We are slated to get 3 inches tomorrow...what gives? I thought it was spring! I really hate this state and I'm at the point now where enough is enough. This has been the worse winter I can remember and I'm mentally tired of it. If I am unable to leave this country I am sure as hell going to leave this state when I'm out of school.

In one word, crappy.

Light drizzle + 30mph gusts + 35 degrees F + 4 mile run for track practice = NOT FUN.

You think Michigan is hot? I've never seen snow.

We had close to 42C (110F) again the other day. Now that's kind of hot
