Good thing I've been living here a long time or I'd be sick of our random Texas weather. Was cold last night, near 37 degrees. This morning, 40, and now its picking up towards 60 degrees last I heard. :ouch:

We had a Winter Weather Advisory, and everything was supposed to freeze. It rained. There are slick spots on sidewalks and the like. And yet every wrecked this morning. What is the deal with these people!? IT IS RAIN.

So, would any of you Michiganders like to estimate the probability of snow on the ground in Detroit on January 18? I'll be there. I want snow, because we certainly won't have any here.

Its pretty boring up here. The only thing special has been the strong wind and bitter cold. It was sunny today, for a little while, but the temps never rose past the mid 20's. Still, we don't have to wait much longer for Spring. Well, until March anyway.

I actually think it's pretty nice. It feels warmer here than it did I Seattle when it was raining.

And the shock of the day for me was blue sky. I believe there were two days where I saw blue sky and the sun while I was in Seattle but it was quite surprising to look out my dorm window and see most of the sky blue.

I guess we're supposed to get down into single digits on this side of the state next week. So maybe there will be snow piles. Otherwise, the weather around here more than 5 hours in the future seems to be a solid "who knows?".

We are getting warnings everywhere that temperatures on Thursday at Lisbon are going to drop down to a -2 C minimum. I laugh a little at this, because some countries get much worse temperatures and don’t make such a fuss about it. But, I know, it is not usual for the location notice and I am going to freeze to death (the maximum is not much better (less than 5 C), but is hilarious at the same time.

The freezing rain started late this afternoon and into the evening. Now all the roads are coated with a sheet of ice, and (if the police scanner is to be believed) at least 2 people died in car wrecks tonight from it. :( I'm glad I'm staying home tonight.

It's kind of a really fine icy snow right now with temps hovering around 30. The road commission was so board they started salting the roads before it even thought about starting to snow. I guess it's better then the alternative though.

It's going to be around 30 all week with a dusting of this icy snow every night. I can tolerate this for a Michigan winter, although I would like the lake to freeze over enough so my buddy and I can take his quad out.

Not verry warm, what's warm for you? :ill:
Here it's -12C for the moment.
:nervous: <<<That's how I look when I go outside for more than 30 minutes.

I was being sarcastic, though that's not actually that hot for summer here, it does get a lot hotter. :ill:

It's been in the high 30's to 40C in NSW, Australia. It's just ridiculous at the moment.

You're missing out on some Pineapple Express action right now! :D. The cold air is finally gone for good. It's been pouring for most of the day, and the temperature has gone up to 53 F tonight. Heck, I might not even have to turn the heat on tomorrow!

I guess I brought the snow back to Michigan with me. You're welcome, guys. I wonder how much flooding you guys will get this time around.

I think I might go down to the local community college and sign up for some meteorology classes. Because I simply don't understand why our precipitation when it's below 32 degrees has to be frozen. As in ice. Why can't it be snow? And when we do get enormous precipitation...it just happens to be at least 33 degrees. Why can't we get these huge rain storms when it's, say, 31 degrees? Because if it was we would have like 2 feet of snow right now.

Today it's snowing very lightly. Apparently it's not below 32 because my pool isn't frozen--but it's 30.

I think I'm going to call BS on this whole water-freezes-at-32 thing. Seems like it only works half the time.

Is all of this serious? Because I don't want to explain the science behind it if you aren't.

I've got myself into a sort of snow obsession lately, so no, I'm about 70% kidding. I'm frustrated because no tire companies make cold tires. Yeah, I've got the snow tires, sure, but apparently what I actually need are cold tires. Because it's not snowing. Argh!

An no, the pool is empty. Our cover fills with rain water and freezes over during winter.

the highways between my home and my work are probably going to be closed due to flooding. we've accumulated 10 inches of rain here in the last 24 hours.

Well, it warmed up to 50 degrees F, rained, and now all the snow, a few feet, has melted. So we have spot flooding all over the place, and mud.

Gonna be super we it cools back down and everything freezes and we have 2 feet of frozen solid mud on the ground...

It was warm today (about 28C) but tonight it is absolutely freezing, i was about to turn the heater on, it's meant to be summer. :ill:

Those pictures were on the KOMO website today.

Still cold, about -7 °C during the day. Next week it will get warmer though - positive t° -and all the snow will melt. :(

I like driving in the snow. I like snow, period!.
I practically grew up in Austria and I guess that is why I like snow so much and a froozen scenery (landscape).
