If anyone has any beef they'd like to store, you can use my -15°F freezer backyard.

Mind keeping my leftover football sausage for me? Thanks.

:lol Nice.

Well.. 5" is a bit more like it, but it's fine, grainy stuff that's flying everywhere. Roads are drifting shut everywhere. :indiff:

Weird how it can be that cold there but not too far north, it's 27... Right where it's been for a long time. It feels like it's been between 26 and 28 and still straight since that last storm came through.

There was actually a 14 degree difference between home and work. I drove only 38 miles and the temperature was 17 when I got to work. Lexington news was showing 16 in Lexington and 4 in Frankfort. I guess I was in a 1 degree cooler spot.

But it was just the Frankfort area that hit single digits. Odd.

You could always head to ND to warm up. :dopey:

Looks like you can keep your own meat cold now.

That's still ridiculously cold. 80% humidity?

30C and sunny again. Beautiful.

We're getting 40mph wind gusts here in south florida right now. Keeps knocking out the dang power.

The disturbing part is it's 30F warmer than 2 days ago and 60F warmer (counting the wind chill) than it was last month!

How does this "Widchill" work? I can't imagine 30F let alone -30...

Here it's meant to be in the mid 30's (C) all next week, with 37 Friday and Saturday.

Put some cold water on your finger. Feels cold, right? Now blow on it and it feels colder.

Very simply put, when it's cold and the wind blows, it feels colder.

And a chart, if you're interested. Right now it's 23 with a 6mph wind, so it feels like 19.

Wind Chill only works in cold days. It's the effect caused by both low temperatures and the wind velocity.
What happens is that normally, our body creates a thin layer of hot air that protects our skin from, sometimes, the cold air. When there is wind, that layer is removed, leaving the skin exposed to that cold air. Energy is required for our bodies to re-heat and create that thin layer. If that layer is constantly being removed by the wind, the temperature of the skin drops and it feels colder.

A 0ºC day with about 35km/h wind, can feel like a -7ºC day, though, the thermometer says 0ºC.

Edit:
Anyway, the weather here, all week was crazy. Monday starts a bit cloudy, rainy and windy, but not so cold; Tuesday stays sunny and pretty warm; Wednesday rain but no wind and warm as well; Thursday it's sunny again and warm (though, not as much) (between the 13ºC and the 19/20ºC like in the rest of the days); Then Friday, cold and allot of rain strikes again (no more than 5ºC) and today was sunny again and a bit warmer (no more that 10ºC) and tomorrow they give cold weather and some rain again. And with all this crazy cold warm cold warm rain sun rain sun, I'm starting to feel really sick.

Now imagine my university place where it gets as low as -18C, lays at the sea which gives high humidity and strong winds. Yep, I definitly have had it with winter now :grumpy:

Believe me, if it wasn’t for the sea, you would get much lower temperatures.

But then the humidity would also drop, which evens it out. At home it got as low as -34.5C this winter, and the difference between that there and -18C here isn't that much...

It's cloudy as usual. It's a perfect day for me to stay inside and play GT1, but we've got Chinese New Year to celebrate.

Cool thanks. There's no such thing where i live (or at least it's not really used) It doesn't get cold enough, infact our normal winter temperatures aren't even on that chart.

Wow, another 3-5 inches of snow, and I swear our road crews get worse at cleaning every time it happens. My traction control was going crazy for the first time this winter. Typically it only kicks on when I am taking off or on a steep incline, but today there were patches of the interstate that looked untouched, and as if they were just packed snow.

To add to the joy a woman in a Ford Expedition nearly side-swiped me on the interstate because she was trying to put her makeup on and started drifting sideways.

Cool thanks. There's no such thing where i live (or at least it's not really used) It doesn't get cold enough, infact our normal winter temperatures aren't even on that chart.
What about heat index? If you all use that think of wind chill as the cold weather version of a heat index.

It's snowing right now, they said 1-2" today. High of 32 today.

The temps have plummeted again.. From yesterdays 20F to this mornings -13F :irked: And I still need to get out there to push the snow off from peoples roofs..

Present forecast: Sunny with some clouds, warmer with cooling later. What sort of forecast is that? Doesn't that describe just about every day? I think the NOAA is starting to slack off.

Now, does the sun sweating mean that it's going to be amazingly humid, or is it really rain, without clouds :odd:
