We're possible getting rain tonight - and tomorrow -

!

Derecho is coming. I fully expect it to be raining sideways here fairly soon.

On a related note "Derecho" would make a good band name.

We got the rain this morning, but it cleared up during the day.

Tomorrow should be sunny, with max 18°C. Still too high for me :grumpy:.

Hopefully you guys make it out ok.

Thanks. We've been all clear for the past 45 minutes or so now. There have been funnel clouds a few miles away from my house and there could have been a tornado in there too. It didn't even get that windy here too. Although the next town over to our east got some nasty winds from what I've heard.

You know its compulsory to post this anytime someone says that. ;)

In other news the weather is typical grey here, miserable today, miserable tomorrow. :(

The thunderstorm wasn't nearly as severe as they said it was supposed to be, which is good. On the flip side, we lost power AFTER everything rolled through, way after, like it was calm as sunny. Go figure.

Got off class at 7:30 and noticed the sky was black. Tornado sirens were blaring through the sideways rain and 70-80 mph wind (yet people were still wandering out to their cars like idiots). Power got knocked out all over campus and I think it's still out in parts. What a 🤬 storm that was...

This is what the sky looked like about 30 mins after it all passed.

Just behind the buildings is a mountain, and on the other side of that is pure darkness.

I know how that feels :/

Hope Oklahoma isn't getting hammered too hard anymore...got family that lives near Moore.

@Greg

Those skies look nasty. I used to hate storms but that's kind of beautiful in a sick, twisted kind of way

Haha it is actually. The sky was orange like that for quite a while and tons of people were out just looking at the sky.

I wish I had my camera out when I was walking back from class because the tail end of the storm was in perfect sight. Tons of lightning too.

This was the view of what was over my campus from the east :scared:

Nasty skies. That cloud looks like it could have dropped into a tornado at any second. Those orange pics look like you were living in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

I wasn't nearly as hot and humid as the last few days. About 81° today. A lot more comfortable and not as hot as they said it was going to be. Hotter weather (high 80's to low 90's) is coming, though. We'll see if it happens.

We're in the middle of a thunderstorm, right now. It's about one kilometre away, from my place, it's very windy, but still very common.

Much of the same weather as the last few days. June Gloom in the morning and reaching the low 80's. Much lower than the low 90's they said we'd get.

Massive heat today, somewhere over 40 and will remain so for the rest of the week. If the air-con units fail there will be no work at all. It's unbearable to be outside for more than 5 minutes without becoming sticky and having all energy sapped by the heat.

Hot yesterday, around 88° and very warm for 2:30AM. Later today, it will be in the low 90's. Perhaps, more June Gloom in the morning, but I doubt it.

Freak thunderstorm just came out of nowhere. Wasn't and still isn't on the radar. Dropped a lot of nickel sized hail, a rarity around here.

It's a bit cloudy here, right now, but there've been sun all day :P. Fine temperatures, though, so, I'm okay with it.

Pouring rain, a bit of hail, lightning aplenty and the power just went out.

A bit freaky, I have to admit.

It's been raining the entire day with about a couple hours of pouring. Pretty unusual considering it's almost summer time.
