2. I honestly doubt PD is gonna License the EF-2000 Typhoon from Eurofighter just for one challenge.
i dont think its a problem 4 PD....they can use the same planes that we saw it in the gt5 e3 tralier (00:41 sec) :)

Some things I would love to see:

- The ability control the number of cars in the starting grid(anwhere from 4-16)

- Like Tourist Trophy the ability to upload/download replays, setups, etc via a USB drive to websites such GTplanet.

- The save/load GUI from GT1

Tracks:

Red Rock Valley

Classic High Speed Ring --- yes I know this track is already in prolouge, but the game classic HSR I'm talking about is the GT1 version, not the GT4/Tourist Trophy

Rome Night

Circuito de Jerez

Sepang International Circuit

Miller Motorsports Park(all configuarations)

Talladega Speedway

Texas Speedway

Autopolis

Kyalami Ciruit

Phakisa Freeway Cicuit(all configs)

Yas Marina Circuit

and finally I'll like to see Hummer in the GT5, particullary the H1

Answering to a question from the subject:

passive ? barren ? gear
analogue clutch
engine starting and stopping (also unintentionally)
day night and weather circulation updated via internet, accurate with current circumstances on track in reality
visual tuning(styling ?)
customisable livery and plates
ALMS, LMS, and all other endurance races
Aspec points
100 licences
300 missions (that is not a typo :) )
complex string?...
trophies worth 3 normal retail games
history/"wiki" page on every car available in game
updates of the game itself in future (cars, tracks, physics, tuning parts)
statistics similar to SCC beta - hove many laps did we do on every track, how many in particular car, kilo meters done with every car, how much time did we spend playing game/particular track/car how many times did we get penalty and how many sec in total have we been driving with penalty etc etc everything in total/offline/online
proper online community
players black flagged for too many penalties in one race
More than 16 cars on track at the same time - mainly in endurance races (32?... :) )
time difference for car ahead and behind
replays working with all game versions
EU release date sooner than any other region :D ;-)

I will update my post if everything new comes to my mind :)

After playing Colin McRae Rally 3 for a couple of days - and, may I just say, rest in peace, you absolute legend - I've come to realize that there is a LOT that PD could learn from this one game. I haven't really played any of the others, apart from the first, but CMR3 is definitely amazing. The car driving physics may be the tiniest bit dodgy, but in terms of realism this game is astounding.

1. Damage

Of course, we all want damage in GT. But I just wanted to make a special mention of CMR3's. Apart from the cosmetic damage - which is brilliant - CMR3 also has amazing mechanical damage. I was doing the Finland Rally the other day, and I misread a pace note, and slammed into a tree. The car was still able to continue, but I had to put up with a bent steering rack, and a destroyed bonnet catch, meaning that the bonnet was flying upwards over jumps, causing me to stop to get it down again, thus hindering my progress.

2. Tyre damage

One time, in the rally of Spain, I had been driving pretty aggressively... this was an all-tarmac rally, and I was sliding it all over the place. Lo and behold, on one corner, one of the rear tyres burst, meaning I had to complete the stage on three tyres and one rim, sparks everywhere. And, just today, I took a fun-run on the first stage of the UK... in a tarmac section with some grandstands, I decided to do some donuts, just for the heck of it. I went into the donuts, and as I kept going and going, I noticed that one fo my front tires was splitting up. VISIBLY splitting up, with bits flying off, and then it burst!

3. Sounds

The sounds are amazing... seriously. You get road noise, really convincing skidding sounds... not to mention that when you're on a gravel stage, you hear the stones spattering onto the bodywork and into the wheelarches, on top of the sound of the tyres sliding on the gravel... and when it's rainy, you can hear the raindrops pattering on the car. If you burst a tyre, you hear this sickening graunch of the rim on the road.

4. Various other graphical effects

You get rain spattering onto your windscreen, and then getting wiped away by the windscreen wipers... and while the drops remain, they go upwards on the windscreen. You genuinely need the wipers to see where you're going, rather than it just being an effect. You also get the exhaust spewing out smoke as you rev... and I notice that the brakelights are extremely convincing. Not to mention that when you're too abusive on a tyre, it will start to split up and flake.

These are all points that I believe PD can learn about from this game... I'm not dissing GT, of course, but I just think that PD can learn a lot from Codemasters. If GT5 has any of the above things, I'll be a very happy man 👍

Leonidae
I still say that we need gridgirls. and girls who wash your car after a race.. a personalized garage. and random race generator, that randomly chooses your car from the cars you have, and throws you into Le Mans in Peel P50.

lol, would you like to petition for that?

thats mean u dont like (driving mission mode) in GT4 coz some missions have some ideas about im talking to

How does what I say about that idea (and that one in particular) mean that I also don't like the driving missions in GT4? Let me say that while that is a great idea(And a very great idea at that), its something that would fit more in a Top Gear licensed game then it would in GT5 along with the fact that those were just for show and I unfortunately don't see PD using for anything else (like the flyover for the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in GT4).

I've decided to add another thing on to my list of things: simple interesting environments, like Enthusia. I always get a good feeling when I start around Lowenseering, and jet fighters fly above in a delta formation to mark the beginning of the race. Or in Paris, where cars drive on an overhead bridge.

this game is not a street racing game... its a sanctioned driving simulator... if ur looking for that go play the primitive simple minded nfs franchise.

what i really want to see is sanctioned online events.. for instance.. gt news announces there will be a 24 hour lemans race server available on a certain date... at certain regions at certain times.
*this is so people that live in prague wouldn't have to start a race at 3 o clock in the morning when it starts during the day in the us. most likely that player that lives in prague has already been up for most of the day and staying awake for 24 hours for a lemans race is rediculous.

Driver profiles (reputation).
So we can know prior to an online race
wether this or that dude is a clean driver
or not.. kick'em out before we start the
engines, ya heard?

You elitists make me sick :grumpy:

Anyway.

I think we should be able to change the rims of any race car. I'd love to have a Subaru Impreza WRC that has different rims for different surfaces - i.e. normal gold split rims for road and dirt, and those red and white OZ disc wheels for snow, etc. etc. 👍

Frankly, I think free roaming is a waste of resources. TDU is very much in the NFS / PGR vein, not serious at all. All the work spent to create a free roaming area could be great, but it depends on how it's done. And it MUST have a secure instance / server in which little kids or tards can't tear around causing wrecks.

Anyway, I'd expect Kazunori to experiment with different tire types, meaning different sized wheels, although for pro racing, I'd expect everything to meet league standards.

I think tracks that resemble real roads instead of race circuits would be nice but an "open world" just does not fit with what GT is.

Umm, no.....GT5 is an automotive encyclopedia, not a 800 car Test Drive Unlimited. If you want lots of cars and free roam online, stick to the xbox and pc. We want serious racing.

yes, true but wouldn't you agree a combination or possibly a seperate mode would be awesome, though without the cops.

Alright, alright maybe I was envisaging something that just isn't possible.👍

Traffic Mode- Drive on the I-10 screaming by a speed camera at 95 MPH and then suddenly have to slam on your brakes because all the retards like to stop and look at the accident that happened over an hour ago. :)

Hey, it's entirely possible. But you have to ask how relevant it is, and how many people will play it for how long. I'm unaware of any posts by anyone about how awesome it is to be able to freeroam Hawaii in TDU.

And think of this: while I've proposed PD developing a full city / rural / country area, it's for the purpose of using it as layouts for a track builder, and I posted about that a year or two ago. While that would be an excellent basis for a freeroam mode, and even a way to drive to dealers to try out rides before you purchase, what if the work the team put into that meant no classic tracks returned, except for most of the courses in GT4? And not as many real life tracks? And no new fantasy tracks? Suppose this mode would be responsible for the track count bumping up to 100, and the rest simply be ports and upgrades of tracks from GT4? While that would be okay, I'd also be thinking it was kind of lame.

See, I don't want the ridiculous inflation of track count like FM2 had because so many were variations of the Test Track, and I got sick of it really quickly. I want ALL the classic tracks from Gran Turismo to return. I want new real life tracks. I want new fantasy tracks. And yes, I'd enjoy the free roaming city / country deal, but not at the expense of those other tracks first. Maybe it would make the ultimate DLC, or maybe it'll actually be in the game at launch. We'll certainly see in the coming weeks. ;)

I was just joking with my post. I really do think that would be fun. I don't play GT just for racing. I like to go into time trial just to drive, so that would be perfect for me. I especially like the idea of country roads. Plus, I think driving to the dealers would a lot better than in TDU. Just with the graphics and the feeling that you're actually driving.... Ahhhhhhh:drool:

EDIT: Just thought... Maybe like a FUEL type environment... Only with GT graphics, no post-apoctyliptic crap, different weather (rain etc.),and much better sunrises and sunsets.

Well, I have to say that after thinking about it, and another darn hard to remember dream about GT5, I'm beginning to like the idea more and more. Traffic for just cruising? I suppose, but it would be incredible to link together streets and highways into a circuit or point to point race course - minus traffic of course. A real serious race.

This kind of thing taken online or off would just be incredible. When you consider the geniuses at Polyphony and what a typical large city street layout is like, not to forget rural country and mountain terrain, you would have an essentially unlimited number of courses you could create and learn. And terrain from asphalt to gravel to dirt, covering racing leagues from Formula 1 to World Rally.

The more I think of it, the more I hope it happens in Gran Turismo someday.

-Midnight Racing events. Ya know like on closed roads (kinda like london)

I'm currently re-playing GT3 and I think they should bring back the separate license for rally racing. They should also do this with drifting and any other type of racing they may include. As an example this would be the license "halls"
B
A
IB
IA
S
R
Drag (Burnouts, Shifting and Parachute mostly)
Drift

I have said this many times but say it again :)

I want 1:1 steering wheel controller movement traking to in-game hands animation.
