Things you would like to see in GT5 other than cars?

If there's a used car section, have lots of mediocre and common cars, e.g. VW Golfs, Nissan Almeras, Mazda 3s/Axelas, etc.

I hope that if there is a used car section, there will be, although maybe rare, some of the more exotic cars too. I mean, look at ebay, there are tons of exotics for sale. It was dumb in GT4 how you could only buy Miatas and Imprezas. I would like if the used dealerships were handled more like the newones:

I want a TVR, so I will go to the TVR dealership and see what they have new AND used. Maybe we could just have a search feature, so we could just select TVR, and then it would show all the new and used models.

GT4 ( at least the PAL version ) included exotic ( or rare ) cars in the used car section as well, for example an Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Jensen Interceptor, Lotus Esprit and Omega, Mazda 110S ( and countless other Japanese classics ), Mercedes-Benz 500 and 600SL ( late nineties version ) and TVR Griffith and V8 and more I can't think of right now ( played it a long time ago ).

Meh, I guess you are right. The North American was the same, but it still seemed very limited. I think it would be cool if all the cars in the game would eventually show up in the used lots, even race cars. Also, maybe make it actually random, so that you don't have to just look at what day a car becomes available and then buy new rims to pass the time.

-> I would love to see past GT tracks to make a glorious return, and most of all:

^ Here are the formats:

- Special Stage City '90s (GT1 version) =highlighted in yellow=
- Special Stage City '00s/Millenium (GT3 version)

-> Oh yea, the Toyota POD track is fun too! Just get rid of that silly ramp. :sly:

Someone may have mentioned this but I don't feel like reading through 191 pages :p

Dirt. I want to see dirt/muck/grime etc accumulating on the cars on long races, especially on the windscreen. This would be great for 50+ lap races, to see the windscreen gradually getting dirty like it does in real life 👍

You will see that that has been confirmed already 👍 I dunno about the windshield though.

Excellent, thanks 👍

All of the original tracks from previous GT games. ;)

Talking of tracks, more UK tracks. Donington, Brands Hatch, Castle Coombe, Knockhill, Rockingham etc.

This would be a brilliant DLC pack :D They could make separate packs for different countries too

Yeah, the more tracks, the more time we'll enjoy racing/driving in GT5.

;)

How about NO ONLINE TROPHIES. I think there will be enough of the game offline that we don't need any online ones. Maybe like "race online" and/or "win a race online" but I would like to see the majority of GT5's trophies to be offline and nothing too incredibly hard. Like we don't need a "have a youtube replay rated #1 for 8 weeks" or something useless like that.

Can someone explain to me (by PM if necessary), or point me in the direction of something that explains, what the big deal is about trophies? Blame me for buying a PS3 years late, but I fail to understand what purpose they serve.

Its like 360 achievement point complete pointless(BTW they are the same thing, except for their class, while a crappy achievement will give you 5G a crappy trophy will be bronze, the problem with the trophy is that do have to do more difficult task in other to get platinum and get a "good" account, while in xbox you can unlock whatever achievement you get and it will sum more points)

I like the xbox system, for PS they should keep this thing the way that they were, just play, nothing more.

The purpose of trophies is to compete with Microsoft's Achievements. The point of both is really to encourage people explore and try out new things they normally wouldn't try. However, neither of them really gives you anything. The trophies you earn do go into a display cabinet in Home, but that's about it. I do wish that I could use the Points to buy something from the online store, or at least unlock special features or new liveries or something.

I'm all about the feel and sound but I would love a drag strip not like forza's half arsed attempt but a real 1/4 mile with Christmas tree and burnout patch to get the tire temp and pressures up for optimal traction..

I'm all about road racing but I gotta have a real drag strip that would be really neat to play against others online.

Purpose of Trophies? Bragging about them mostly I guess for spending too much time playing games.
I don't care much for them either but it does somehow feel nice when accidentally you hear that bling noise once in a while to inform you that you've recieved one for whatever reason.;)
To be honest, GT5 may be the first game which would make we want to collect all of them.

^^This track. An endurance race on that would be awesome. 👍

And I also hope the racing modification makes a return. It was so much fun taking normal cars and transforming them with race car liveries in the first two games. I was tired of having stock looking, performance modified cars in GT3 and GT4.

Ah, I wondered. My other profile has accumulated a few as I play through the God of War collection that came with the PS3 (wholly OT, but... how did I miss this game all these years?!), but I failed to see what purpose they serve other than me not having to specifically say "hey, I did blah blah blah in this game" to friends. They'll see a trophy and know what I accomplished?

Pointless!

Not to mention that game hands them out just for essentially progressing through the game. Don't see what's special about that. If there are some crazy ones in GT5 though, actual challenges... I might attempt them, if they have some kind of in-game bonus as well. Say... Yellowbird at the 'Ring in under 8min on N1's? :D

Well each game has its own rules or accomplishments for which they give out throphies, some indeed simply reward progress, others have stupendously challenging or frankly ridiculous tasks to complete.
I've suggested somewhere before that to me the most logical thing to do in GT5 is to simply translate the "trophies" you win in-game ( gold, bronze, silver ) directly into PS3 trophies, possibly with some additional "tasks".
Like your Yellowbird example ( though under 8 minutes on those tyres would be filed under stupendously challenging by me ) maybe, although some games would offer a trophy for something like drive every single Daihatsu on every single track for at least 10 laps...............

Hrm, really? I guess it's their way of artificially lengthening the play time the average short attention span equipped gamer, awarding trophies not for difficulty but just for sheer time invested.

Yeah, having say, a gold trophy for golding each license would make sense. Maybe platinum for golding all of them, and/or 100% completion.

As for the Yellowbird... a guy from my usual board managed it years ago. It's still insanely awesome to this day:

I'll be honest and say I'm not going to repeat that ( especially since I'm using a DS3 ) and by the way, what's the real name of this guy? Stefan Roser? ;)

The only game that trophies work in for me is in WipeOut HD Fury, where some are so insanely difficult (beat Zico anyone?) that once you complete them, you feel you have achieved something incredible.

I'm sure that wasn't the point in the first place, but who cares? That's why I do trophies if they are available.

If they could do very hard to get trophies on GT5, then I would love the game that little bit more - e.g. get gold on all licenses, get round the 'ring in under the set time in a Jaguar E-type with S2/S2 tyres untuned, or simply get all cars.

Haha, well he does quite well in real-life, autocrossing, so the dude has (incredible) natural talent. The controller's not too much of a hindrance; I managed an 8'10 back then with a DS2. Though I guess it'll be a lot harder in GT5 since it's not nearly as forgiving to controllers.

What gets me about trophies... is there any easy way to get a complete list of which ones are available in a game? It's cool if I get some random achievement I wasn't expecting, but it would be endlessly frustrating for the completist in me (for games like MGS or FF) if I didn't know exactly what I should be aiming for.

In the PS3 menu screen ( trophy collection ) you can find a list of each trophy of the games you installed and what it takes to achieve it.:)

Well most of them are shown on the trophies screen when comparing trophies with a friend of yours.

That and online it's very easy to find all of them, just goooooogle it.

A clutch like in TDU.. that can be used on the Controller aswell. Works really well and very realistic in TDU. Great fun for drifting and in TDU it won't let you shift a gear until you press the clutch button. This would make GT5 more realistic. I understand that wheel users can use a clutch?

Customization in replays.

I played today a nice race in GT5P. i decided to take a look at the replay. but it really is't good. its beautiful but the camara angles are always to close. you can't really see the race, you almost see only your car in close-up. Sometimes there are some angles where the camara is more in the air or much further away. which is much better.

I also saw some views from heli's in GT5-replays and trailers. and they are very cool.

so i hope you can choose your own replay-cams instead of being random.
