Ahh the old 10 minute lap trick  I miss the GT5 time trial notification that shows you placed X/XXX participants everytime you set a new record. Just another one of those things that goes backwards as the series progress. I'm surprised the GTS leaderboards even lets you scroll beyond the usual 10 players. I reached up to 1000 before I got bored

Anyway, hoping to see more quirky combos in the future. Maybe intersperse it with drift trials or Sierra time rally style events too 💡
Yeah, I did in 11 minutes, but the "winner" did it in 1 hour...

Am I reading this right? 6° of rear camber? lol
It helps reduce inside rear grip and makes rear looser on entry.
How do you find out how many participants? Do you just keep scrolling next until the end (which would be very time consuming IMO)?
I was wondering the same thing.. But I tried. Turns out you can just click R1 as fast as possible and the game will register all of them. You don't need pages to load 1 by 1, it just shows the one that matches the number of clicks. And when you overshoot it displays a blank page then you just press L1 once and it shows the last page.
No need for 10 minutes laps!

Just in case you dont see the post above, just click R1 like crazy and you get to 5000 in less than a minute.

I see you miss the drift trials, please head to the drift forum because we're holding our own events there!

I love this new mode they added.

So anyway I focused more on the Porsche time trial event and I must say over the course of this time trial event, it just teaches me on how to tame the Widowmaker. Plus I tend to slide the 930 more and I find it as an advantage.

Currently I'm sitting at 8:20s. Will improve it.

Also been playing some Porsche Unleashed race songs while doing this. Feels fitting to say the least.

I find that sliding is often a loss of time in this one, especially if there's any kind of straight to come. Like it might be ok to slide a bit on the first corner of a combo but you need to quickly get back to grip.

I get your point on that. The slides that I tend to do in this one are just subtle and not really that much.

But yes I gotta lessen the slides in my next attempts.

No need for 10 minutoes laps!

I just needed to make one lap (and in the case of Nürburgring, it's always a pleasure). So I just get in the event and I have the number of participants instanly. ;)

Edit: TRL_Holl1 back to P3.

I know that making the comparison to real life from video games is foolish, but every time I drive a street Porsche in this game I wonder what on earth do people see in these cars???

Then it will hook up for a brief mile or so when I accidentally change my driving style to suit it and it will flow beautifully and I get it. Then I’ll spin it and the cycle begins anew...

For me this 930 feels like a chore... But very effective training.
The newer GT3RS cars feel like a dream though.

Down to 8:13, still got some time in there, sub 8:10 soon. .Loving this.
I got 8:15 and I don't think my dream lap could be faster than 8:13-14
Im curious how much do you see at the sector time before the braking to the lowest point of the track (some kind of bridge). I usually get there in low 3:03, always very close to my previous runs ghosts all the way, the rest is a bit wilder even though I was happy with the 8:15.. I just wonder if the 3:03 is ok or way off already

I’ll have to take a look. I know the first sector I’m at 51 and the leaders are at 50.

Im at 51.7-8 on average.. please have a look at the 3 minutes one :)
and btw have you improved to below 8:10 land yet?

Been away for a few days, had the PS4 with me but only pad action where I don't feel at home anymore.

Back home now so finally could try the new stuff with the wheel. The Porsche is sooo fun! Those comfort softs keep you on edge and I love it.

Did one very safe clean lap tonight and got a 8:29.8xx which was good for #1443 in the world :D

Loads of room for improvent and I'm definitaly gonna spend more time in this game mode. Set my goal tp reach sub 8:20, which I know I can, just a matter of how much time I'll be able to dedicate to it in the next 9 days.

Need to try out the Civic as well, although I really dislike this layout of Willows.

I think my best is a 51.5. The sector you’re talking about was right around 3:03 as well. My replay wasn’t showing the exact time but it was around 3:02-3:03. We’re right on each other’s heals.

Didn’t have a chance to drive anymore yesterday. Maybe tonight I’ll work on it. Watched my replay and a few corners I lost a second apiece almost. It’s a lovely dance this car is.

well do you think you can improve a lot on this first part when you say you're aiming for sub 8:10? Trying to know if I'm a bit slower all around or if I'm really weaker on the latter part.

I have room to improve overall. Def 2-3 seconds in that first 3min part, then more all over. I think at least 1second alone in the final section after the straight. I think we’re both losing time over the whole lap.

3 seconds is nothing at the Ring. Tiny improvements in a few corners will equal that. It’s really just having the concentration to pull it all together in a single lap. It’s simply a matter of seat time with this track. Each lap I knock more time off. Lap 1 8:24, lap 2 8:18 lap 3 8:15....14....13... question is where to find that extra ten seconds. What I notice from the replays and what’s true for the 930, is keeping the turbo spoiled. Those top times are doing a better job of staying in boost.

It’s also about maintaining a perfect slip angle on corner entry. If you don’t nail the entry with slight oversteer then the corners shot and you can lose a lot of time. Same for too much power on exit. It’s really a fine line with the 930. I’m using BB at 2 which I think might be too much, but I find 1 not enough for me.

thanks for the detailed answer.. my laps went 8:30, 23, 19, 17, 15... I used BB 5 rear, it felt easier to turn it in for me.
So well it's a bit of bad news for me then, because I know that first part quite well and really don't think ill be able to shave even 1 second off of it. Gotta accept my slower pace

BB at 5 eh??! Hmmmm maybe I should try that lol.

Civic is a good challenge.
For me it was hard to get the gears where I wanted them.
Sad thing is chassis wise after way too much time I just defaulted to stock and was just as fast.
Currently barely inside top 200.
With that combo lowering seemed to hurt traction almost in my hands...
Seemed very tough to find better grip from stock...

The gear setup that worked best for me was to have a gear to go around the tight corners that would peak on the way out but before completely riding away, shifting to a very short upper gear that kicked in very high in the rpms. And then 2 more gears a bit more spread apart to reach a top speed of about 160kph (? looks very low now when writing it but I remember something like that)

I just went close ratio as possible, but I was having trouble with 3-4 or 4-5 or 5-6 up shifts, getting them how I wanted where the engines making good power.
I just wanted to get short gears close ratio, but it was taking a lot of time to get what I was looking for.

Managed to shave off a few seconds Now at. 8:14.250 (224th at the time of writing).

Leas sliding = faster lap times but nailing that perfect. Four wheel drift does feel fantastic though :D

My last run until the weekend so all momentum gathered will be lost :(
