No.

There is an update for the FT-1 VGT - it's coming in September, but that's the only "date" we have.

I reckon we'll get the update sometime between September 31st and Octember the 32nd... Kaz is far too busy throwing ice over people to be making a game!

They said that car is coming in "September".

That's all we know about this month... but hopefully Kaz might take his finger out and surprise us.

Well, we know a lot of stuff was dumped on our PS3's in the last updates. Code entries suggest Zahara is present in the game in some form, along with the Alfa and Subaru VGT cars, and very possibly further car customisation options (window banners/stickers). There was then the period of double maintenance, and subsequent work on the GT5 servers (?!).

The last significant update content wise was at the end of July.

The next announced content update is due in September (FT-1), most likely at the end of the month.

So that leaves a couple of months without much new to play with, despite (seemingly) much going on in the background. Personally, I think something big is on its way, its just a waiting game, and it's possible the hack attack on PSN last week postponed something.

At the end of the day though..

If you don't see it listed here http://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/news/gt6/ then it's not official or promised - despite what some forum members read into things.

I don't usually get as worked up as many GTPlanet members when it comes to Gran Turismo 6 updates, but one thing that really bothers me is how old most of our cars are. It's 2014 but the vast majority of our cars are several years older. I know it takes a lot of time to remodel a car, but this is the business they've chosen. I don't mind the fact that we still have standard cars in the game. Several of those 'standard' cars are pretty awesome in this game. According to the awesome gtdata.net search only two 2014 production cars exist in this game. The BMW M4, which can not be tuned and the C7 Corvette. I have zero faith that a car like the Lamborghini Huracan will ever come to GT6.

That is the problem with keeping Standards in the game. 99% of the Standard cars were made before 2005 yet there is still a community that wants to keep them. You can't keep old car models from the PS2 days and somehow expect new cars to be in the game. It just can't happen.

Welcome to the world of GT and the lazy copy and paste attitude they have towards game making.

Copy and paste?

Why didn't they copy and paste online features? Track editor? B-Spec?

Perhaps they're not copy and paste enough in some respects.

Well i seem to remeber GT6 used a different engine from GT5 altogether, so copy and pasting would have been much more complicated than a simple Ctrl+c - Ctrl+v.

I understand that's why they seem to be reinventing the wheel. I was simply contrasting that against ColoredBadger's comment about the "copy and paste attitude" of PD.

The next update (v1.12) is expected to be released next week and will include the following;
Zahara (Circuito de la Sierra)
Quick Match
New HUD element

Credit to @BRING MORE TUNA for the v1.12 content teaser!

It may also include;
Toyota FT-1 VGT
Toyota FT-1 Graphite
Subaru VGT
Alfa Romeo VGT
2015 NISMO GT-R

(All the 'may be included' things are currently in the game's coding (not including the Toyota's and the GT-R)

I was simply suggesting that the standard cars, and tracks like Indianapolis, Deep Forest and many others (Monza before the 1.06 update) were just copied over to GT6 from GT5 without any work doing to them at all. Even the 2005 version of Sarthe looks like it was made in 2005 and for a PS2... Different engine or not, they've just copied over so many assets from GT5 without doing anything to them because people will just put up with it and let them get away with it, hence the "Save the Standards" attitude on GT Planet . Afterall, it's just easier to copy something than to make something.

Some features have been made from scratch and most of them have come in updates (which I approve of). But it makes me ask the question - was it worth making GT5.5 just to turn it into GT6 through updates or would it have been better to make the game from the bottom up, making a consistent game content wise, that didn't need so many content driven updates and release it at Christmas 2014 instead of 2013. I know that if PD had done that we'd have the game we have now, and Zahara, track creator and B-Spec plus anything else they plan to release in the next 3 months right from release day instead of having to wait on empty promises (Zahara trailer in February) and waiting around for updates hoping it has the stuff we want in it.

Maybe that's what PD meant when they said "Revolutionary DLC". Maybe they meant they'd finish the game through updates when they could be bothered to do it?

Don't get me wrong, I love GT and the game that it is, but sometimes PD test my patience and loyalty.

It is really not complicated. They're porting them straight over. I'm fairly certain the files are very similar or exactly the same. This is a picture a member on reddit posted from gt6 the other night. I haven't looked close enough at the car in gt6 beforehand. Surprising? No. Directly ported? Yes. Does it bother me? No. I would not buy a GT without most of the standards.

Because older cars are in the game - that affects nothing; zero in regards to putting new(er) cars in the game.

Ummm, im not quite sure what you trying to say here, but umm, i agree with you as far as the standards. i dont mind the standards in GT either. everyone complains about them, but really don't see why PD should take them out of the game.

That's the point. There shouldn't be any standards. There should be 1200+ premium cars, not 700 standards and 500 premiums. If they updated them to the same quality, whether they have interiors or not, then it'd solve a lot of arguments. Like if all Standard cars were Vision GT quality (without interiors), then it'd be fine to have all of them in my opinion.

But, this isn't really on topic and we could do without another no standards vs yes standards argument. I'm presuming the next update will be a very large one as we'll get Zahara, a Vision GT car and potentially some other things too as it's been a long month for PD (5 weeks).

I don't think it's practical to expect PD to remodel 700+ cars when there are so many other important things to be working on, like physics, tire models, weather systems, etc... Modelling a highly detailed car is not an easy undertaking. There is a reason that most sims only offer a few dozen cars or so.

Hence why they shouldn't have been carried over to GT5 in the first place. No one would have cared if the GT4 cars were no longer in GT5 because they'd be dazzled by the next-gen and would just get on with the 450+ cars. But as a result of not doing this people don't want to get rid of them now, even when moving to a 2 generation gap from where the cars were originally made. I'm sure the 500+ premium cars we have in GT6 would be enough, all of it's competitors have less than half the car count and far fewer tracks.

As for physics. I think the physics are fine how they are. No one needs tyre models or accurate tyre physics, Forza wastes memory making tyre flex and bounce, something 1 out of 10 people notice and 1 out of 100 care about and it doesn't change the game or it's physics. The weather systems I will agree on however. GT6 has a dry line system but the game doesn't have proper wet track simulations, i.e puddles or spray. I'm sure this will be fixed on the PS4 when the console has more than 256mb ram and can cope.

Just be grateful GT has weather, tyre wear, accurate fuel usage and good physics. Other games in it's class, even some on the next gen, don't have half of the stuff GT5 had, let alone GT6 such as the weather, fuel usage etc. The only thing that needs updating the most is PD's attitude to making a new game for a new console. Once that has been updated then a solid game will fall into place.

The only problem i have with the standered cars is the amount of one model they have added.

cars like:

34 Mx5's?

do we really need 34? there great little cars but surely they could of added about 8 and add other cars same with the 22 FD RX7's why 22?

Surely there must be other cars they could re-add from the likes of GT1 and GT2 ok they would have to remodel but this is the 15th anniversary. at least make it feel like it.
