Even though I've been to Vegas, I think what girls would enjoy doing there vastly differs from what guys would wanna do! Watch out for all the guys along the street handing out papers on where to hook up with prostitutes... Well, unless you're into that kinda thing. I think you should go see a show, though. That's the one thing I didn't do that I regret.

By the way, when in July will you be there? I'll be out there July 14-17th.

we should arrive in vegas luch time on the 14th and leaving sometime on the 18th..... as for a show we were going to go to the blue man group but it is about $80, so we might miss that??

we are staying at the Luxor...where are you staying TATINEE??

as for the bunny ranch...we will probably go to somewhere like that don't know which one.

which nightclubs do you think would be the ones to go too??

Heh, they handed them out to everybody, even my brother and cousin (15 and 16 at the time)

Hudson, since you are staying at the Luxor (thats were i stayed) go see the Blue Man Group. expensive as hell, but worth every penny.

Also i think the Bunny Ranch is closed:p

Oh yeah.

Everything is nice. Looks small on the outside, but is freakin huge on the inside.

We stayed on the 14th floor facing the strip and the international airport. nice view. (our room was in the pyramid building not the one next to it.)

i ahve only seen pictures of it and it looks amazing especialy the view from the landings looking down into the luxor...have you got any pix???

The Luxor is nice, but I think you will find Mandalay Bay and Bellagio the most luxurious. As a frequent visitor of Las Vegas, they are my two personal favorites.

I stayed at the Carraige House for a few days; nice and quiet, no casinos; yet it's only 2-3 blocks from The Strip.

Luxor was really neat, probably the best-looking casino there; the interior was really amazing to behold.

Mandalay Bay was neat; their buffet was the best in Vegas. Caesar's Palace was classy, and the indoor aquarium was really neat (we got a free tour...a nice way to get away from the crowds).

On the other side of I-15, Rio was neat. Take walk on the overpass between Tropicana and MGM Grand (?) right over the Strip at night. Kathy and I just took in the noise and lights for about 10 minutes...really neat.

Bellagio made me feel like poor, white trash from the moment I stepped in there. Everything was ridiculously expensive. Excalibur didn't impress me, but it had a Krispy Kreme donut factory inside.

As for weather, it's proably not too bad right now; but in the summer, it's 105-110 degress outside.

I'm staying at the Hilton this time. Last time, I stayed at the MGM Grand. Really nice and reeeeeally big!! We got lost quite a few times in there. I was only at the nightclub in my hotel, so I can only tell you about it. Lots of girls dancing on pedestal type things, people doing freaky stuff hanging from the ceiling while hooked up to cords and the like.

Did anybody know some lucky sod won $39,713,982.25 in Las Vegas last Saturday?

Yahoo! News:
LAS VEGAS (Reuters) - A young man visiting America's gambling capital hit pay dirt on Friday -- a world record $39 million on a slot machine.

The 25-year-old software engineer from Los Angeles, who requested anonymity, came up big at the Excalibur Hotel-Casino on the Las Vegas Strip, according to International Game Technology, which made the Megabucks slot machine.

He was visiting family and keeping track of college basketball's "March Madness (news - web sites)" tournament with some friends in Las Vegas, where betting on the games is legal. His uncle had told him about the Megabucks machine, which can pay out $5,000 for a $1 bet. If you play for $3 a pull, the winnings increase dramatically.

"This MegaJackpot is nearly $5 million more than the previous world record slot jackpot amount of $34.9 million," said John Sears, vice president of MegaJackpots for IGT.

Friday's winner said he'd put in about $100 when he turned his head away for an instant. When he looked back, the winning symbols had lined up and he was $39,713,982.25 richer

I liked the Imperial Palace (the Japanese one) and the Barbary Coast, it had that old Vegas feel to it.

Haha. I've been to Las Vegas so many times its not even fun anymore.. I'm not old enough to really do anything there, so thats probably why. I've only been in the Luxor once, but it was awesome! I've never been able to stay there, but oh i wish i could. They have a nice arcade area, too. ;)

cheers, i am looking forward to it even more now.

i keep forgetting we are in california fo just over a week before vegas, doing all the touristy things and going to laguna seca.....

have any of you had any luck there??? if so how much did you have to put in before you got something big?? and what game was played.

what are the must do things????????

Visit the Las Vegas Spring. I've never been, but the commemorative license plates are fantastic.

Oh, and - word of caution - don't speak much if you've got a British accent. The southwest is nearly the pit of uncultural dickwads, and if you have an accent, they'll believe you have mystical powers or something.

Go to the Gamblers general store, great for gifts.

You can get used gambling equipment from all the casino's. I think i have a deck of cards from almost every Casino in Vegas:D

WOW!  Can this be true? a thread about Las Vegas?
My most favorite city in the world. I've been to Vegas only once (Dec. 28, 2003), we stayed at Circus Circus. I've been inside New New York, MGM Grand, The Mirage, Ceasars Palace (thats the place a saw a real Ferrari Testarossa), and Circus Circus. I wish I could have been to my favorite hotel (exterior desing) Excalibur. I also wish I could see the downtown area (aka Fremont St.).

Hey, I might see u here :).. traffic is getting pretty bad here :(.. when it was only a 15 minute time to get from my house to the strip (1997) now takes about 36 minutes average (2004), wow this city growing fast.

that must be quite an achievment!

I stayed in the Hilton

I stayed in one when my flight was postponed till the next morning. Pity it was about 11pm by the time I got to the room and we were told, later turned out to be incorrect, that we would have an early 8am flight.
