Welp, Nurburgring just got announced.

I'll take a locked 60 fps any day over that. Sense of speed isn't going to be that great if the frames dip or are even variable depending on the conditions.

The PS4 version of Project Cars definitely has aliasing and the lighting in Forza 5 is definitely not out of date...

How do you know it wont be 60fps locked on consoles? and yes the Pcars has aliasing but not to the extent of Forza 5, which uses NO AA solution. And sorry but while Forza 5 looks great overall especially on the Nurb, the lighting pales in comparison to Driveclub and Pcars.

SO ISN'T NURBURGRING IN FM5 GREAT! CAN SOMEONE POST SOME GAMEPLAY VIDEOS OF IT?

Can we please get back on topic.

^ You started it! :lol::

There will be project cars though. And there is so far only one decent wheel supported by the XBone. Project cars will also most likely look better on the PS4 also. I am not a Playstation fan or an Xbox fan, just stating the facts.

Project Cars doesn't not have a laser-scanned version of the track.

They might have gotten it close but there is no replacement for a real laser scan of a track.

Aww. :( Ah well, at least it looks alive like Forza 5's Nurburg. ^v^

I saw something on tv today that caught my attention, the new Seat Leon Cupra set a record for FWD cars on the Nordschleife - 7:58 - so I bought a Scirocco R and tried to replicate the car somewhat, it had semislicks and brembo brakes. From a standing start I managed a 8:09, yeah really bad I know. But it was fun to try, and my Scirocco couldn't maintain as much grip as the Leon in the video.
Also notice where they start counting the time and where they stop the timer. It's different in Fm5.
Anybody else likes to do test runs like that? :)

You're just here to troll aren't you? Are you honestly saying that Forza 5 uses no AA? Have you even played the game?

If it ran at a locked 60 fps they wouldn't say they were targeting 60 fps and they would definitely have said that they were running at a locked 60.

Driveclub doesn't even run above 30 fps...(at a variable framerate..)

Show me evidence Forza 5 uses AA? I have seen none, look here http://www.zero1gaming.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/1920x-1.jpg. And what makes you think Targetting 60fps doesn't mean targeting a locked framerate? And the framerate is completely irrelevant when talking about how dated lighting is..

1) Because they've never said it?

2) Running a locked 60 fps requires your game to never reach a minimum fps under 60 at any time. In other words a game that is locked at 60 most likely runs at 65+ unlocked or more.

That picture actually proves there is AA in effect but as we all know it's most likely a 2x filter and not enough to get rid of most of the jaggies.

Just look at the steering wheel/gloves and so on.

There is definitely a form of AA running but it's not doing the best of jobs.

I have to admit that looks great. Can we get back on topic now please.

So is this THE most accurate version of the Nurburgring in any game since it has been laser scanned? Any other game have a comparable version?

We'll see, i think they'll be able to pull it off, maybe not with max cars on screen while raining but for typical race i doubt it will be dipping as hard as GT6 for example.

It's Hard to tell with that much jpeg compression in the Maserati pic, the Ferrari pic is extremely jagged for a 1080p image, to me it looks to have no AA solution, i was expected at least some post AA like FXAA. BTW why do they not mention what AA it uses in Digital Foundry? seems strange to gloss over that. And I guess we should stop as we're only allowed to talk about the Nurburgring apparently, even neogaf doesnt have such strict rules!

Another video for you all, my first lap in B-class. Ive only been running D-class, though I did do the P1 rival event the other day.

Not sure if it was the video quality but the audio sounds a bit strange for the Ford GT especially compared to Forza 4. It actually has a very similar audio to PGR4. Again, maybe it was just the way the video compressed but I have noticed some of the audio just doesn't sound as good in F5. Even when I played it at my brothers I noticed that.

The sounds are slightly muted in cockpit view, but they seem about the same in the outer views.

If that Ford GT was stock then that would make more sense. In F4 if you removed the interior (lightweight body), installed headers, and added the largest cam the audio would get much louder and better. I wonder if it is the same way in F5.
The audio still seemed to have an electronic sound to it similar to what GT6 does. Which is strange because that was not in F4. Really reminded me of the audio from PG4.

Some cars use the samples from PGR 3/4, when Bizarre Creation was closed, they gave all the assets to T10.
