Almost a week ago...this

Couple hours ago, I had a nice "home made" chicken burger, still not better than that above.

Double post but...
I don't know how true it is but I've heard rumour that Scotland is the only country in the world where Coca-Cola isn't the most popular soft drink. Irn Bru being the reason.
Here, most people (at least in my age) drinks this:

Not sure why everyone going insane about it, I rather have Coke or even Pepsi over this anyday.

That's a fish pie.
I'll be eating part of it today but not immediately. I made it just now after working (fuelled by Irn Bru) overnight. It will make a good breakfast in around 3-4 hours.

Looks like I'm the only who hates them. Everyone I know eat them by the buckets, I think their taste is horrible!
I used to hate them as a kid, too.

Nowadays, I just avoid buying them because I know what will happen...

New Zealand Red Stag burger. I like it better than the camel I had last month.

Next month is ostrich. I can't imagine it's much different than emu, but there's only one way to tell.

Currently trying Corn Nuts for the first time. They're OK I suppose.

Grilled chicken thighs and arrowhead cabbage. It's the first time I've had this variety of cabbage or tried grilled cabbage. It was really good. Even my daughter liked it. It's sweeter than regular cabbage, lacking the bitter/pungent accent that turns a lot of people off.

If those animals were better than beef, they would have been raised for beef.
The stag and camel are almost sweet. Definitely better than venison.

I think if we raised sone game animals the way we do cattle they would be a better tasting meat. Our issue is that we have turned the cow into something far from its natural form, feeding it food that's not part of its natural diet and purposely making them fat. Do that to any other animal and in a few generations we might have a new cow.

So i bought a pasta machine.

First try on tagliatelle, used only 250g semolina flour and 100ml water, enough for two portions. Kneaded the dough and went right on with rolling and cutting with the machine and then straight into the boiling water for 3min. Didn't take more than 30min. It's delicious! Next experiment: use red lentil flour. :D

These days I'm pigging out so much to make up for energy spent on my commute. Tonight I had a kilo of rice and 4 mackerel grilled.

Don't think I could eat a kilo of rice. I do like rice though, with butter, salt & pepper. With gravy, or about any kind of sauce. The kids used to eat it with cinnamon, sugar, raisins, & milk. The rice steamer got a work out...

Rootbeer right now and maybe popcorn for tonight's dinner.
Not the best but might be something to do something.

Tuesday night I had to pick my daughter up from guitar and she wanted Burger King. I found that most of their burgers have all the sodium in their buns, so Double Whopper on my low sodium bread.

Thursday night my mom took my daughter swimming and I invited her to stay for dinner. Bourbon teriyaki marinated chicken thighs with a bourbon glaze and grilled kale salad with a smokey bacon balsamic vinaigrette.

Today I busted out my smoker. Lunch is smoked turkey drumsticks.

After my turkey legs on Saturday, which tasted almost like ham, I threw on some baby back ribs for dinner.

But those were just to satisfy the hunger created by smoking two Boston Butts to create 5.5lbs of pulled pork barbecue.

Which we ate yesterday for our Independence Day meal, and I had some today for lunch.

Had a big slice of pizza from Spicy Pie for lunch.

I had some Vietnamese egg rolls.

If you have never had these, you are missing out.

They are small and seem to only be stuffed with seasoned meat. Pork I think.

They come with lettuce and often fresh mint or cilantro. The sauce is a little sweet, and a little spicy. Wrap the egg roll in a lettuce leaf and dip in the sauce. Sooo Good

They are technically more of a "spring roll" rather than egg roll :dopey: yes, they are normally pork.
I'm a big fan of Vietnamese food, and over here in Vancouver, BC, there are tons of places to grub.
