I had a curry last night for my mate's birthday.

Fish pakora starter, and chilli garlic chicken with pilau rice and naan. The food was very tasty, but for £22 it was not quite enough. That said, these restaurants are usually very good at knowing how much people actually eat, and although the portions felt small, it was enough for most people - but I'd call it a lunch portion, not dinner. A large bottle of beer was £7, so all in it came to £29 plus tip, so about £33 a head.

There was one or two things that irked me though. They gave us a table set for 8, but really probably should have been for 6 people - however there was 11 of us, so I was uncomfortably perched on the end of the table with no legroom at all. The service was speedy, and they did clear stuff away quickly, but there was barely a free square inch of table space for anything more. The sides were too small; we got one side each and shared two rice and two naan between us, but there should have been at least twice the amount of rice. It was good though, but I've had alot better for alot less at a place just 100 yards away!

We then went to a student/dive bar next door for a few drinks, and I bought my mate a large G&T - a double Bombay Sapphire and a tiny can of Schweppes tonic... £11 :ouch:

Annoyingly, the can was so small that the alcohol content of a double measure stops the bubbles from forming in the tonic, so the drink is basically flat. They also served it in a glass that was too small, such that the small can was enough to fill the glass, so even if I had got gun tonic (which is usually rubbish), it still would have been flat - so not great for £11 a pop.

Well it’s a date night. We were going to go to town and eat Italian… however as usual we left it a little late. So we’re heading to a local in the village (we also feel much more comfortable there as we know the owner and it’s full of locals we know)

We’ll then get a taxi into town and head to the theatre and have a drink there. Depending on what time everything finishes we may grab some food on the way back home. See how we feel after the show. M
 
For supper, we are eating chicken noodle soup, fish, and crackers. And for dessert we are having apple cobbler.
 
I'm going to eat a leftover pizza from Domino's. It's got pepperoni, sausage and cheese on it. I bought two large ones last night and ate one of them, and put the other one in the fridge. I got it out an hour early so it can thaw. I'm gonna dig in to the flavor.

I finished breakfast 2 hours ago. I had a bowl of Frosted Flakes, french toast, bacon and shredded hash browns. And of course, a big glass of orange juice.
 
Tomorrow will be a special day, I took the picture from the internet: tripe soup is amazing. It makes a great soup with lots of garlic and vinegar. I think I'll eat 3 plates.

I’m not a fan of Tripe. To be truthful I’m a wuss when it comes to eating parts like, organs, feet, head and anus.

I can stretch to beef cheeks, ox tail and lambs liver at a push. However I see this as bad thing on my part as I’m sure it’s tasty and I hate wasting food, so I’m glad people eat things like that.
 
Thank you, we do not eat pork due to our religion. But we can eat all other poultry and barn animals, provided that they are cleaned and washed well. But of course it's a matter of taste. Some people don't eat it. But cleanliness is very important in such dishes..

We’re quite fortunate that in the city where my work is based, we have lots of Halal certified places so our Muslim colleagues can join us on meals. It’s only if we decided to have a drink of alcohol that few can’t join us.
 
Fixing to eat some corn dogs, I haven't eaten these in a long time. It will be nice to have something different for a change. I got a 6-pack of them at Food Lion the other day.
 
I like odd combos like that!
When I was in the Army I would buy a 1 pound block of Cracker Barrel cheddar cheese and a giant jar of dill pickles. Take a bite of cheddar, take a bite of pickle. Worked in a weird way.
So does canned tuna on Army MRE crackers with a touch of mustard.
Now I’m hungry for god awful eats. 🤣

A hastily arranged sandwich. An Asiago bagel… then I paired it with some of the best prosciutto I’ve ever had, along with some fresh mozz.. then put a little tomato sauce on the bottom.

There’s a little Italian shop near my job that I’ve stumbled upon that sells imported foods directly from Italy, along with a hell of a lot of fresh made stuff. They have these double chocolate cannolis that are unlike anything I’ve ever had.

Anyways, I picked up some shredded mozz, along with some pasta that they make in store while I was at it. I wonder what their wine and olive oil selection is like.
