Deep fried Oreos aren't bad, deep fried Snickers bars on the other hand are gross.
I haven't had the Oreos before, but I completely agree on the Snickers. I had such high hopes, too.

It was strange, I like deep fried Mars bars when I had them in the UK so I figured I'd like the Snickers. Maybe it was the molten hot caramel oozing out of it that turned me off from it, I don't know.

The Oreos though turned to a creamy mush inside a fried shell, it was almost like a donut.

That looks good, buddy.👍 Have you ever tried throwing in sauteed daikon in something like that? Japanese sometimes does it, and I guess it only works if you don't mind daikon, but when sauteed with soy sauce or something like that, much of that gaminess is gone, and I do enjoy it once in awhile.

I'd never put daikon in a dish like Nasi. Nasi has all these 'tropical' flavors, spices and herbs that have a pungent and citrus like aroma and flavor. With the hot chili paste (Sambal Oelek) that's added, I don't see a radish-like flavor working well with it all.

However, daikon sounds like it would be great in Taugeh, which I love a lot. It's just wok fried bean sprouts in soy sauce, oil and a bit of corn starch.

Got some Indian tonight with one of my aunt's students. Tandoori chicken. We got Gulab Jamon for dessert and I shared my balls with her.

You should get some chicken tika and naan next time you go to an Indian restaurant. One of the best combinations. Make sure the chicken tika is spicy, otherwise it's worthless.

Had this for dinner

We had Naan, Niners. Also, Orimarc, is that a pork Cordon Bleu?

I call that goodness. Some tonkatsu sauce on that thing, I'd be in heaven!

I had ramen. Threw in some green onions & rice for good measure.

Not how I make it. I guess I need to take an actual pic of the Nasi I make. It has no peas.

Nasi is like Chinese (American) fried rice, but with Indonesian spices that really kick up the flavor a few hundred notches. Chicken or shrimp is the preferred meat. I use a mix of Indonesian spices along with fried egg and onion. All you do is add rice, Ketjap Manis, Sambal Oelek and fry it up for 15-20 minutes. Serve with grilled piece of ham, fried egg sunny side up and pinda (peanut) sauce. I also add a big piece of shrimp cracker known as kroepoek. Pure heaven.

I made both Nasi (rice) and Bami (noodles). Good I had both, 'cause some folks complained the rice was too hot. The wusses. :D

Nasi is just white rice (boiled or steamed), fried rice would be nasi goreng, and would not have any pork since that would make it haram. When you add the fried egg it makes it nasi goreng spesial, and with a piece of chicken (usually a wing or drumstick) it becomes nasi goreng ayam.

If you like spicy, try to find a place that serves nasi padang. And make sure you eat with your fingers to get the full effect.

I call Nasi Goreng just Nasi. Technically wrong, but then I ain't no technician. Oh, and ham on Nasi is awesome. Especially if you pan fry it for a few seconds. Good thing I'm not a muslim...

Nasi Padang looks interesting, but too complicated. Plus, I, and especially my boys, like the simplicity of fried rice. It's all conveniently mixed together in one large bowl. 👍

Eating now? Grilled cheese sandwich and a banana.

Ewwwwww! :yuck: Anybody ever try this?

:dopey:I never thought I'd come across wordsl ike Nasi and Taugeh here!! HAHAHA

Jeppo is right as Nasi means rice.

Taugeh ...hmm this I am really really surprised to see as it is the malay/fujian dialect for bean sprouts.
Although I suspect the malays copied the chinese on this one.

Bud Lite is gross full stop, I can't imagine adding Clamato juice makes it taste any better.

Never even hear of 'em before Solid Lifters mentioned them, and now I really wanna try some!

I'm about to leave to join my friend for lunch, but it's probably going to be just Teriyaki or Panda Express. Crossing my fingers for Thai. :D

"Chelada, Chelada, Chelada, Chelada, Chelada, Aye aye aye AYE! ... MUY BORRACHO!" Lol, I love that Optimus Rhyme bit.

So anyway, I just had my Big Macs. They were actually pretty good. Probably the best burgers I've had from McDonalds, although they should rename them Little Macs. My total came to $3.24 since I got the 2nd one for a quarter. And I got a free Mocha thanks to these Free McCafe cards I got from a friend who works in Corporate. The Mocha McCafe was pretty damn good until I got to the bottom. All the Mocha flavoring/whatever they put in there settled to the bottom and tastes like crap. Next time I'll just get straight coffee.

So yesterday I went to IKEA and for lunch got Swedish meatballs, a hot dog, and ice cream. If I worked near there I’d eat breakfast and lunch there all the damn time.

For dinner I went to Lolita’s again and bought the carne asada fries… usually I split them with a friend (which is what it’s designed for – they always give you two forks), but I was hungry enough last night that I decided to finish one off on my own.

l

And for whatever reason I’m even hungrier today than usual, so right now for lunch I’m having two microwave dinners.

One of my friends just IMed me asking if I have a tapeworm – that seems a distinct possibility.

Sage, I hate you.

(Until the day I go to San Diego and you take me for some. :D)

Pepperoni slices.

Jebus. It's like I'm single again.

It's a step, or two, or three hundred down from Sage's carne asada fries, that's for sure. I'd pay $20 for that thing right now.

I had leftover Bami, but the whole time I was thinking of "Sage Fries."

What's all in that, Sage? Looks like two kinds of cheese, guacamole and skirt steak.

They were pretty tasty and likely had just as much salt. That's got to count for something! 💡

guacamole
OK, I can do 30 bucks.

Salt is bad........ but I love it!

I haven't had anything since this morning, when I had 7-Eleven apple fritter & coffee(from work) for breakfast. I was so busy, I couldn't even leave for my lunch!

This is really sad, but I think I'm going to hit the Carl's Jr again for their chili cheese fries & that big hamburger. Mine's like 250-260 steps down from the Sage fries.

Which is why I'm glad I live an hours ferry ride away from Indonesia, and my wife goes there at least once a week for work. Oh, and dinner last night? Nasi Padang fresh off the ferry. I'd also recommend trying bebek goreng (fried duck) but the only place I've ever seen it was in Central Java.

You must be hungry. Look at the size of that box!

I am currently enjoying some mighty fine cookies and cream ice cream before I head off to bed.
