Just made a pot of white cheddar mac and cheese. :) Wasn't quite as sharp as I like. I used Cabot extra sharp white cheddar.the roux got really thick, so I ended up turning off the heat and mashing in the unassimilated shredded cheddar straight into the pot after I tossed in the Mezze Penne.

Not bad at all.

Thanks again.

Did you ever eat anything you made that taste so fantastic you feel like saying, "The world can just kiss my ass!" Well, pucker up, baby!

Homemade avocado dip...

That looks tasty. 👍

I made Gyudon for lunch today, and it was about that awesome. :) I have a bunch left for lunch tomorrow. It will be glorious.

I just had a totino's cheese pizza with six crown prince anchovy fillets. there were exactly twelve little fishies in the tin, so i got to prep another pizza for later. It was oddly satisfying.

Medium heat? Low heat?

And is shredded cheese acceptable? (I hate it when the cheese forms a glob around the spoon.. I always run into that)

Low, and any cheese based pasta sauce should have Mozzarella in it, with some Parmagiano Reggiano/Grana Padano on the top.

Don't add the cheese in until the sauce is hot and has thickened due to the roux. Stir it in slowly, if it's hot enough, it'll melt quickly, but don't let the sauce simmer or boil.

or fries with frikanel special in English.

But as alwasy pics tell more a thousand words.

The fries I guess are pretty well known everywhere. The frikandel is a typical Dutch snack. You make it 'speciaal' with chopped onions, mayo and curry sauce.

Really super lekkah ;)

Went to the Auto Show and then grabbed a burger at midnight at Nexxt Cafe. Place has excellent burgers:

Last year's show I got the 1 lb. burger... a pound of angus beef with all the fixings and a handful of shortribs on top with cheese melted over it between a 7 inch bun. This time the fries were soggy though. I don't think they were fried long or hot enough.

sorry new world cousins,

I'm getting rather saturated with all this american burger and fries/ cookies nonsense and my eyes are watering from all the chillies in the large amount of mexican food being posted.

May i trump you all with a good old shepherds pie, gardens peas, runner beans and a good splash of onion gravy.

Over and out

Also, I was drinking these like crazy while walking around the auto show:

Cafe Bustelo Cortaditos FTW!

Steak, pan fried potato chunks and green beans. One of my favorites. Makes up for yesterday, when I was too busy with Windows 7 to cook.

I just had a bowl of frosted flakes with some milk, a glass of grape juice, and another bowl of frosted flakes with milk.

Some Spaten Oktoberfest, my local Publix ownz all now :D and some french bread pizzas. Yay for heathy!

Sick, lazy or busy?

:)

Lazy, and a bit stoned.

I'm going to get a breakfast sandwich and some iced coffee at Dunkin Donuts on my way to work here in a few minutes. Dunkin's coffee is the best around IMO, destroys starbucks.

What a difference between the american meals and worldwide meals, especially europe you have more people eating local delicacies, which are pretty much non-existent in the USA. (BTW, a Chicago hot dog, is still a hotdog, nevermind onions and stuff)

Today i eat, Pupusas with Curtido(special coleslaw) and a light tomato sauce(salsa de tomate), A Salvadoran dish

Didn't eat breakfast. 15 hours without food. So, I made something special. Grilled bacon and cheese sandwiches. Awesome.

Depends on where you live. Back home I only had chain restaurants to go to, which is why I never ate out; down here I can go to a new local establishment pretty much every day (which is why I eat out all the frickin’ time).

I'm eating a hot dog right now, with some freedom fries (that's what americans call them).

Later I will probably go crazy and have some ethnic foods like Pizza and tacos (only from taco bell though, those authentic ones are weird)

People love stereotyping Americans.
