Ezell's, Oprah's favorite fried chicken!
Solid Lifters that Jalapeño-wrapped in bacon looks really good - it looks like your own version of a "Jalapeño Popper" what kind of cheese did you use?, I'm going to have to try it myself.
At the moment, I'm still too full to eat, turkey-meal was huge and good.
The "Jalapeño Popper" is known as an ABT (Atomic Buffalo Turd). It's made with these usual ingredients: Jalapeno pepper that's sliced in half lengthwise, cored and seeded, cream cheese, cocktail weenie (I used Hebrew National Bun Length Beef Franks cut in fours) and then wrapped in a half slice of bacon. You can change the ingredients around to your liking. Some do cheddar cheese instead of cream cheese and others add chili powder or Frank's Red Hot sauce to the cream cheese. Some folks even coat them in BBQ sauce after a half hour of smoking. Tried that once and didn't like it at all. I smoked with half mesquite and half hickory (my favorite smoking combination) for about an hour and 15 minutes, give or take a few minutes, at 275 degrees F.
They're EXCELLENT! They don't last long in this house! Once they're made, they're gone in seconds!
Thanks Solid Lifters I'm going to try it, but for my taste, I'll leave the seeds and the core (hottest part of the jalapeño), Pepper Jack cheese or Oaxaca cheese. I might use cooked chorizo or longaniza instead of the "weenies". My parents are Mexican so I tend to use Mexican ingredients more. I will also try them your way, I might like them too. It also sounds great, no frying so no fatty oils.
