I've been drunk to the point that I didn't remember falling into a fireplace. Long story, but I had to call my roommmate the next morning to find out why my elbow was mangled. I've woken up in unknown places, not knowing how I got there, or what her name was. Amazingly enough, I'm now married to her! I'm kidding. I've woken up behind the wheel in the middle of a cornfield, and no recollection of how I got there. That was in my young and stupid days.

When I outgrew the "Drink cheap, Drink alot" days, and shifted over to "drink a twelve pack to unwind", I get really :) and then :D alot. Then I fall down. After that I chug a mug of water, an aspirin and go to bed.

Nowadays, I'll have the occasional office party cocktail, and that's about it. In the past few yeras, I've been reducing my intake, because I get up too early to deal with any type of haze in my head.

Congrats to Boom. My uncle was in your shoes for twelve years (Special Forces Vietnam). Then woke up one morning and said "This stuff's for the birds" and hasn't had a drink in more years than I can remember.

AznAbyss: You are a Psychologists wet dream. Honestly, I can point out so many different ways to change your life. Easy things that can make life at home better, and your social life improve. Granted I'm not qualified in any way, other than been there done that. I'm noone you know, or want to, but want to offer this: sit down with your family, and ask for honest opinions about where they think you'll be in five years. Write it all down, don't say a word or defend yourself in any way. Just write it down. Then read it a few times, and write down your answers.

Just like this forum. Proper english makes a world of difference. And just like the real world, words mean next to nothing, the written word is what is binding. How often have you heard "Get it in writing"?

Maybe this should have gone in a PM, but there are a few of us here that can lend a helpful thought or two.

Best wishes.

Had a few of them myself in the past. The most significant was a grazed knee, garnered in a near-miss with a speeding taxi.

Did you have to change your underwear?

Nah, I was so wasted I had no idea of what was going on at the time, let alone no recollection of it the following morning! I had drunk so much that night that I don't tell people about it any more, because they don't believe that I could still be alive. I didn't really know how much it was, but some others in my party were keeping score.

My one claim to fame on the "How much did you drink" scale, is incidentally my #1 On the "Top ten things you'll never tell your family" list.

I was out partying in college, and after much Jose, and much Corona, I stumbled for the dorm. Before I left I blew into a breathalyzer. The party host, sent two people with me, as I blew a 0.37. It was the catalyst to controlling my drinking habits.

Tis funny, the older we get, the less we keep score.

I can't believe I read most of that...

Anyhow, when I'm drunk I magically transform into a social butterfly. It doesn't matter who you are... if you're breathing you're my new friend. I may hate you when I'm sober, but if I'm drunk then it doesn't matter.

I also grow a gigantic set of balls when I'm drunk. Suddenly I can tell girls that I've always thought were attractive exactly that. I can tell 'em they smell nice and I can request them to take their shirts off. It's all happened before... :D

LOL exactly my sentiments!

Athough I havent been drunk scince new years, mind you I only drink allot when at a party or with one of my "Ill drink you under the table" Friends. Recently ive been staying away from them and ive saved a whole bunch of money.

I agree with Rumple because you don't always need alcohol to have fun. Although things seem to be more fun when your drunk. So I guess I also agree with Puffy.
