my breathing is already screwed up b/c of my allergies. And people in front of all the buildings at school just love to smoke near and around the doors which makes me hold my breath for the entire 45 seconds it takes me to get into the doors - i HATE them. If it was up to me, I'd strangle a couple of them for puffing into my face

Um . . . it's not the nicotine that kills you.

but it's the nicotine is what's addictive. Their whole reason for it is that giving up smoking means giving up both the HABIT of smoking and the addictive nicotine...this way, you give up half the problem and can work on the 2nd half a while later

Chocolate makes me happy. Yet, I don't indulge in it (a couple pieces a day, at most). And if cigarettes = happiness, then how come so many people are dying from it and trying to quit? And consider the asthmatics (myself included) who can die from overexposure of second-hand smoke, or at least be extremely irritated by it.

All I can say is that I honestly wish that everyone in this thread who smokes gets around to quitting somebody – For their health, their family's, and mine.

My parents both died of smoking related cancers before they turned sixty. I might only live once, but I think I'd prefer a reasonably long and healthy life - and I'm very happy with my life (well, apart from this stupid job - but I'm working on that).
