What expansion/DLC would you pay $20 for?

Sorry that I'm a bit offensive here. But I don't get why people want pikes peak when there's only one proper pikes peak car in the game. An entire new game mode (as I see it) called Pikes Peak would be well worth $20, but don't count on it.

How about getting some more rally stages and events, that would be much more 👍 for GT5 with all those rally cars that are collecting dust ;)
 
2011 24 Hours of Le Mans pack, I'd pay 20 dollars for that.
I also second the Pikes Peak mode, that would make the Escudo more useful and fun to play with :P

Most cars that run at pikes peak (I go every year) are not exactly 'proper pikes peak cars.'

Hell last year a 16 year old girl ran a stock mini cooper s, and a Porsche GT3 cup car broke the 2wd record.

Why not just say "every track an car not in the game"?
Seriously, is that supposed to be a list of cars and tracks you "handpicked"? Or are you just naming every racecar and track not included you can think of?

5 good, fun cars, 3-4 tracks, and more races or specials.

Well that only ranks $10 to me. For $20, the rest of you can have fun there's already 1,000 cars.

Thats actually a list for a racing game I'm in the very early stages of....my bad for not taking out the tracks already in GT5, it was a quick copy and paste job. Gold star coming your way!

What I want for $20 is:
  • A crapload of Standard => Premium conversions.
  • At least 30 new cars
  • At least 50 new RM kits
  • At least 10 tracks: SSR11 (Forward and Reverse), Infineon (Sports Car/NASCAR), Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Silverstone, Hockenheimring (classic and modern), Sepang Circuit, Shanghai Circuit, Yas Marina, Singapore Street Circuit.
  • New course maker themes: Mt. Haruna (tarmac), Finnish forest (dirt/snow), and the option for making point-to-point courses.
What I would like to see included with the tracks would be new events, and more events to go with existing ones.
 
I'd pay for a drift expansion that has D1GP tracks that aren't already in the game and many D1GP cars. And a livery editor which they could call C-Spec for customization, a dedicated drag mode would even be awesome. I'd pay twenty for just one of these. :)

I'm going to have to agree, all of these would be great! Especially if they sounded like the real thing.
 
more F1 circuits... spa, imola, hockenheim, hungaroring, silverstone, melbourne, sepang, catalunya, etc.
 
For me it's not really about getting new cars. Upgrading cars would be great, but I don't personally feel there are a dearth of options on that front.

New tracks would be great. But the main thing that would get me to shell out more money for GT5 DLC would be different events done in an exciting and fun way. New tracks and interesting challenges to go along with them would be a major lure for me.
 
Let's just say my mind better be blown for 20$ damn dollars..Seriously. When i buy a game i don't want to have to wait a year or however long to buy the rest of it as DLC? It's just like when i bought the new MX VS ATV Alive. The game is only 40$ but that's only because you get 50% of it. You gotta buy everything else as DLC like track's, racing series, bikes. It's the most retarded thing i've ever seen. And this is what i fear alot of game companies are gonna start doing.

And let's be honest here, if PD would've had more time they would've put this stuff in the game anyway so why should we have to pay for it?

That's not an expansion pack.

The Shivering Isles for Elder Scrolls 4, now that was an expansion pack.

I'd say an expansion pack should add around 20 - 30% more content to the game.

Now if it were 30 - 40 cars, 5 tracks, and at least 20 or so events to go with them, yeah. I'd say expansion pack.
 
Hmmmm, i would pay $20 for an expansion of in-pit saves.
 
come to think of it... i just wish GT6 will be packed with everything that GT5 has been missing :D
 
20$ for DLC? For 50$ we will get GT6 so I won´t buy any DLC for that money...
 
More classics made premium. Old Bugatti's and Lotus's. Classic Le Mans cars. And some japaneas cars I geuss since god knows we need more mx-5's, S2000's, and skylines, and Evo's, and Eclipses.

Fundamental problem with gt5 they wanted the cars so detailed it made it to hard and lengthy to add new premiums and any car that was done in premium that had a separate "skin" feels almost like filler eg; NASCAR and Japanese GT cars, the two Suzuki Swifts.

Oh and more Jags.
 
For $20 (or what ever that is in £) I'd want a lot - it's another 20-25% of the cost of the game after all so I'd want my game to be 20-25% bigger and better.

I first thought about more events, they're almost there with the seasonals but I'll refine it to more Expert events. The best challenge so far in the game was those 3 events we had the other day, I wish a lot more the races in the game had been that challenging.

More cars ... ok, but give us something we hadn't thought of as well and throw in a few classics for good measure too, oh and how about a some BTCC stuff too? I really don't mind if they're premium or standard either - but I beg you, please, no more Skylines, Imprezas or MX5s.

Upgrades, a few more tuning options would be great and that includes aero and racing mods. Although lets not got down the nitrous route, leave that to NFS.

Tracks - yes please and lots of them, let's have the full F1 calendar or the ALMS or the BTCC or the DTM ...... you've probably got the point by now - more tracks please!!


Overall I've got to give PD credit for their continuous development of the game, I hope that they keep it up too as it really helps with the longevity of the game and will keep us playing till we get GT6.

Besides more tracks, more events and more cars, I'd like to have more Travel Photo place as well.
 
$20 for a a DLC.. That would have to be a massive DLC, 3-4 GB of content, at least.

That means 70-80 new premiums and 5-6 more track locations with weather&time of day transition, plus new events. That would be worth $20, and I bet most 80% of GT5 owners would "bite that hook"

I hope PD don't read this, the amount of people willing to pay 1/3 the price of a "full" game for a couple of cars or tracks is astonishing.

The content of new games compared to old ones is in many cases considerably smaller, EA sports is the most obvious, but there are plenty of others, the only reason for this is DLC, why would you put as much time, effort and content into a "full" game when you can release a half finished product with hidden content already on the disk that you can drip feed to gullible punters who think they are getting a bargain.

The gaming industry existed for 20+ years without this greedy ripoff mentality and huge fortunes and great games were easily possible. PD so far has not gone down this road but if they choose to charge for extra content i for one will not be buying it.

It's not up to PD. Sony is the one that runs the financal policy. Sony places a order from PD "Make some DLC for let's say $2 000 000, please". PD says "OK" and after couple of months of work delivers the DLC to Sony. Then the Sony puts a what ever price tag they want on it and sells it. PD is just a developer. Sony buys the game from the PD, that is the rights to sell the game or do what ever they want with it. If Sony decides that it's a good move ,financialy wise, and makes an agreement with PD then we are most likely to see some kind of DLC.
 
id like to see more premium LMP and GT cars,

bring the toyota gt-one, nissan R390 up to premium, RM some others say the ferraris up to GT class and add some new ones such as the R18 and this years 908.
