Expert japanese championship with a stock Lexus ISF,couldn`t keep up with a damn
RX-7. Had to come back with a 2k tune and racing suspension on the ISF and then couldn`t shake that damn RX-7. Good race though.

I think the hardest event I've placed first in is the Nascar Daytona race. Was the only race so far I had to restart several times to win, because I'd either get spun out by the AI or get passed on the final 500ft of the race to the finish line.

its fun though! i love nascar so it was great to have all that competition. now the b-spec nascar races (especially daytona) are fun to watch too. its neck and neck all the way down. and at daytona they go by the words rubbin's racin

Does that make sensee to you? You might want to read through your posts to make sure they're readable before you click the submit button in future.

While we appreciate that his isn't an English class, we do ask all our members to try and use English to the best of your ability and that would include using punctuation and capital letters at the start of sentences. The reason we ask that is because we have a lot of members who are using English as a foreign (to them) language, and some of them wouldn't know what you just said.

So I'll assume those are 'intentionally ironic' mistakes then? ;)

tdk - after my moment of madness, I went back and tried countless times in stock tires but could not for the life of me get first. I love the Focus ST but absolutely loathe that track

The American Championship in the Extreme League. Take a Ford GT and add racing parts to it. Most likely you'll need Racing Softs because the car isn't too sure footed even with them. I put my engine up to around 700hp and let 'er rip. Because the turns are slippery, I nurse the car through them and use drafting to pull myself through the pack. Much fun for me.

I had trouble with that until a buddy suggested making sure all driver aids were turned off, including setting ABS not to 1 but to 0. The NASCAR race, at least at Daytona (not sure about the rest) turn at least a couple assists on by default and it will not let you turn them off, but he said that the one causing the trouble can't work if you have ABS set to 0. (Up until then I always had ABS 1 by default, though now I run 0 all the time.) Once I set ABS to 0 I won right away and by a comfortable margin that continued to grow throughout the laps.

Wait, are you telling me to turn off the Antilock Brake System to win on Daytona easier?

I recently did some races against the A.I. at the training center, and I have to say they are surprisingly fast sometimes. If you drive in a stock car.

City tracks are terrible generally. Only ones I like are Monaco's and London's. What was more frustrating about the focus challenge to me was, the fact that it's FWD. If it was a RWD I'd blame using a DS3 and thus, no ability to push the car to the limits but I was sure I wasn't doing anything wrong.

This is what you have to do:

- Take any of the NASCAR Stock Cars
- Select Racing Hard tyres
- Turn off ALL the driving aids, including ABS
- Drive the Wet Nordschleife
- Try and complete one lap without spinning out or hydroplaning straight into the grass.

:sick::dunce::banghead::ouch::irked:

That describes my attempt at doing so, which failed miserably :(

It's pretty epic to throw some of these challenges into an online room as well :dopey:

I had a pretty big challenge getting my 787B Stealth Model around a wet Nurb 24h with all aids off but ABS and Damage on Heavy (and Grip Loss on Real too!). Took me about 10:54 to get around, and every time I hit the accelerator pedal it did nothing but cause catastrophic amounts of wheelspin

Plus I'm on a DS3 too. :D

Try getting into the castrol supra z or impul calsonic super gt vehicles and race them in arcade, with no assists (no tcs no asm no srf no active steering), no abs, sports softs, and with around 8-12 laps on any track... That always gives me a good thrill. It takes me about 3 laps to get to the middle of the grid. It helps if you want some good pictures too.

Challenges eh?

Try this.
Beginner series in GT career, FR challenge. BMW Z4 '03. No aides, not even ABS. CS tyres. Your own body weight added as a ballast. No HUD, cockpit view. Enjoy the challenge.

^Same for the Vitz race. Yaris RS on stock tyres and body weight ballast.

I've recently started a new career and do all my races like this using only premium cars with my weight in them and the tyres they came with. It's the way forward.

I think everybody that went straight to the tuning shop after buying all their cars should do this. It really is a fun game when you actually put effort into making races fair.
I actually started from scratch, deleted the game software and just ran what the disc has to offer, and my god... The things we take for granted.

This is not a challenge, it's a hell

A lot of the problem with GT5 and turning ABS off, is that for some reason the game insists on putting the break balance up to f5r5 which basically means you get about half the break travel in a race car before the wheels lock in the dry. In the wet on real grip, set it to around f2r1 (lower in cars that don't weigh 1.6 tons) and you'll discover that you're not aquaplaning most of the time and it's just the brakes looking 'cause they're stupidly overpowered. I find the best compromise between maximum breaking force/control is f3r2 for cars with racing tyres and f2r2 for road cars, but some like the Elise are lower 'cause they just aren't pushed into the ground as much. Hope this helps

Formula Gran Turismo championship (extreme series): tracks Monaco and Suzuka.
Nascar event (extreme series): track Daytona Superspeedway.
Historic race event (professional series i believe) using the GT40.

I've been really thinking about "the wrong car" for certain environment, so I did it.

Jaguar XKR '99 (standard, used) with lots of upgrades, including that damn chassis rigidity upgrade that I regret, painted it in orange and added a wing.

And went to race the tuned car championship @ Suzuka. Finished 3rd... it was a blast, the race had like 6 different leaders and in the end the Ruf BTR won, S2000 GT1 second, my ridiculous orange Jag in 3rd, then 370Z Superleggera, R34 Mine's and a bunch of faster tuners...

It was amazing! :) The XRK is a Grand tourer and a drifter, not a racer... trying to keep the power on the ground was cool in a hard course such as Suzuka...

Formula GT Championship... I haven't been to even finish the first race without crashing and dropping to the last place. I'm stuck with GT5 because of this championship...

Fully tuned samba bus at the expert German car league Nordschleife.
Against M5's CL65's

Drafting and timing master class, going on to the back and final straights you can take the corners faster so hold back about 5 car lengths, Get your timing right so you catch up to 1st place just as they start to over power you, It will leave you behind to on last straight so a very daring over take into the last section is needed

EDIT: I mean the Extreme Schwarzwald League B

Not a race, but a time trial.

The last Sebastien Loeb challenge in the Special Event section.

Weird feeling on the wheel when the car looses traction on ice.

Challenging obviously depends on your skill level.

The best way to find competitive races (while earning high money and experience) is to do any seasonal race on a track which you enjoy.

Then choose a car around 100-150pp lower than the highest pp typical opponent. If you win then choose a lower pp car and if you lose then increase to a higher pp car. I found that tokyo circuit is rather tricky with catching and passing but the kink in the straight helps to stop the AI overtaking you too easily on it.
