Challenges eh?

Try this.
Beginner series in GT career, FR challenge. BMW Z4 '03. No aides, not even ABS. CS tyres. Your own body weight added as a ballast. No HUD, cockpit view. Enjoy the challenge.

^Same for the Vitz race. Yaris RS on stock tyres and body weight ballast.

I've recently started a new career and do all my races like this using only premium cars with my weight in them and the tyres they came with. It's the way forward.

IMHO...boring is what comes to my mind... I can't stand slow races... However, adding my own weight as a balast is something I need to explore 👍

What I do is let the CPU get a huge advantage once the race starts... then, I drive like a madman to catch them up... a minute seems to be enough for most races :)

Sure most of you have already, but gold the licences and special events FAIRLY.(no cuts, no rail riding, no bump drafting, no ramming ai for brakes). But agree'd, learning the corners on a track beyond the average racer can accomplish ( as note'd above on eiger) is truely a rewarding experiance. How about the mercialago event on that toscana track. I find it funny how people can complain on how easy this game is after they add 300+ hp and drop the weight by 500 kg on cars they just aimlessly buy because they want to get an event out of the way. And next thing they realise, is that they finished the game without a challenge...

Super car seasonal. In a almost stock 06 viper, the last track in the series. I actually got overtaken by the ai on the last straight, it was the Ferrari f430 scuderia.

The last race I've done that I'd call challenging was in my Mercedes-Benz CLK Touring Car '00, all possible upgrades and Racing Soft Tires, doing the German Touring Car Championship: Madrid City Reverse. Edit: Almost forgot the conditions. As soon as the race starts, hit the breaks, wait a minute, Go! Was good fun! :)

Doing the 2nd German race in Extreme? I think, on the Nurburgring, with a stock BMW Z4 M on sports soft tires. At first it may not seem to hard, but on the straits a Benz SLS AMG and Audi R8 WILL catch you up, and holding them off on the straits is sooo much fun :D

It sure is, and I have to add one. Supercar Nostalgia Cup: Nürburgring Nordschleife in a BMW 2002 Turbo '73. Fun to drive, not easy to keep on the road if you're going at a pace that'll allow you to get the Miuras (then again, maybe it's just me ). Have been spinning around all over the place. Can recover from one spin, two spins and the Miuras are gone for good. And even if you do get ahead of them before the straight, you'll have a fun time keeping them behind you. Been getting lots of horns, took me quite a few tries to finally win it.

Adding your own weight as a ballast for the car? That's a really brilliant idea. It's such an obvious thing to do but I'm stupid like that.:dunce: Thanks for sharing!

Is there a thread where there are some gt5 difficult challenges. The game is getting too easy for me now regardless of car or tires. I need a new challenge. Any suggestions?

Try joining a racing league. For me, i want to drive equal cars to my competitors and win on merit. Having a slow car against AI drivers that dont race correctly isnt fun. Ive been in a league for a year and havent played GT against AI since..... pointless!

I've had a fantastic time with the 750pp challenge using a Sauber Merc' C-9. It took me a while to tune the car for La Sarthe, but the tune worked untouched at Indy. I needed a few minor changes for Spa and the same tune geared down a touch for Montegi. Tsukuba was hard for me and I had another different set up by the time I managed to Gold it.

I tuned my HSV, ZR1 RM, GT LM II TEST CAR to 650hp, stock downforce and RH tyres. Race Arcade mode and rarely came in first place. The lead car varied between the Zonda LM, GT TEST CAR, GT-R LM CONCEPT, F1 LM. The 2J is in the race and if it passes you and doesn't get damage at some point in the race, its gone.

I like to plug this thread whenever I see someone wanting more challenging offline racing. I've had many fun challenges by taking some time learning how to set up a competitive field following some simple parameters. Just don't expect the AI to drive fast on cold tires. I always give them some lead time otherwise it's way too easy to pass the whole field on lap 1.

I've had plenty of races where I only got to mid pack over a 45 minute race. It's given me a better appreciation for stock vehicles and comfort tires on street cars. Also inspired me to give up ABS and drive in cockpit view.

Had a pretty good ummmm.... i guess it'd be touge battle lol on Trial MTN a few days ago I was in my RX7 FC and they were in a copy of my Bright orange 88 Supra. Both cars are SH tuned with <400hp. We stayed close up til the back straight on each of 4 laps where the Supra's Fully Custom Trans gave it the advantage over My FC's stock 5 spd. But, Both are still prototypes of a finished product for the wateringhole. as of now they both run in the mid 1:40's to low 1:50's on Trial MTN.

The time trial seasonal event in Spa with a NASCAR was quite hard for me. I was barely managing to get gold even with different set ups. I think the patch had something to do with that but it was tricky to say the least.

Try that 70's supercar nostalgia one in a fully maxxed 512BB with no tuning on sport hards i think.

historic race cars

toyota 7 race car at monaco

the car is not bad,but my bob keep crashing into the steel rail everytime i tell to pass while he is in the tunnel.i recommend the 2j for the easy win.but,if you want a challenge, try the toyota 7.

apart from the 2J, the toyota 7 is the best car for that race. Try the Ferrari like i said. Just make sure the 7 doesn't start 1st or 2nd :D
