Whats with the "mini" updates?

Mashing buttons, O X etc. didn`t help (in my case) - the system is just frozen.

I've never had a problem with mini-updates crashing the game. The only crash I ever had was where an online lobby got stuck at the "checking regulations" screen, and it caused the three beep shutdown.

I had an odd experience with these just a minute or two ago, I updated, then the screen went black, so I pressed the power button once *tripple beep* PS3 restarts and asks to send a crash report to Sony regarding what happened, I agreed, then it did its usual 'you improperly turned off, now I'm going to scan the hdd, stop at 12%, then let you play thing'.

Then in GT6 again, no update request, logged into the PSN and internet, just entered the game normally, received my 130% bonus and that was it.

I`m not complaining or whining. But I have a feeling that the game is not programmed in a very good way. More like: Hurry up, we have to deliver...

You don't say. I suspect the QA dept at PD consists of a soda pop machine and some detergent.

Very very annoyed with this update process!!!!!!!! After the 3 time corruption of my system due to the 1.02 patch. Now the same thing happens with the mini updates!

Fix this mess!

for me the first mini update after a patch (both 1.01 and 1.02) always ends up hanging the PS3 at the 'WARNING' screen, the dots at the bottom keep going forever, I have to turn off the ps3 via either the controller or the front, get a triple beep and it has to do the hd check. In 1.01 I lost my save as well, fortunately not in 1.02 though.

There appears to be a worrying amount of game-breaking bugs in GT6 (updates, the stockyard glitch, crashes and freezes). I've encountered almost none personally, but it does suggest these features were not thoroughly tested at all prior to release.

stop acting like a child what are you like 12

Nah, I'm twice that age but thanks for asking. Anyway, you responded to a nine day old post that 36+ other GTPers didn't seem to mind, so I won't take it personal. Have a nice day. :)

So was this to update the hornet ?

Anything else that anyone has found?

I was hoping it was for the GTR we were supposed to get, but no love so far on that front for me !

What I want to know is what was in the 1.02 patch. I can see 1.01 having a 800mB "uncompressed" 1080p intro movie, but those RedBull X-cars and a minute or two of Vettel speeches cannot acount for the 1.2gB of patch 1.02. Senna videos? Maybe.

Some of the newest mini-updates unlocked the M4 and Hudson for public use. Both those cars are in v1.01 (as seen in the: Some hidden cars : ) thread ), but were not accessible in v1.01 for public use.

Think the Red Bull Jr. shift indicator in the cockpit was fixed in it. Used to blink constantly.

The Hudson was available earlier today before the latest mini update as I bought it and then tried going online some mins after but I got prompted to log out of the game to update.

I suspect that the 1.02 update incorporates the 1.01 update and that the 1.01 update is now unavailable. This would be how they have fixed the bug where you can sell the Vision GT car for lots of money, they have remapped it to something that you can't sell for lots of money. If you could still download the patches in sequence you could just skip the 1.02 update and keep getting lots of money.

I suspect that the people with the problems with the mini or big updates and the system freezing or rebooting are actually related to network connectivity problems. If this is happening to you and your PS3 is connected via wireless, try it wired, or if you or your family are downloading / uploading / streaming video / video conferencing at the same time then try and pause that when you see an update, or pause it while you are starting up GT if you can.

The PS3 probably has some sort of file that it writes on shutdown so it knows if it was shutdown correctly, if the file isn't there, ie GT has hung mid update then the file wont be there and your PS3 doesn't know what was happening at the time of the unexpected reboot so it has to check the whole files system.

An unexpected reboot could be very bad if it is a system update and they are making large changes to the file system and directories, or files accessed during boot up, but GT updates will not be doing things like that. Worse case, you will lose your GT save, or the GT Game files including updates.

The usual advice is to always keep a backup of your GT Save on a separate USB stick or Drive or on the PSN save service.

after the update, anyone have lost use of the R1/L1 menu functions. they don't work for anything, dealership, garage, home screen for one-player races. this is with controller P1 and T500RS P2.

I did notice that on both my DS3 and my DF Pro wheel  (Both in P1)
