The Corkscrew at Laguna Seca.

Ditto... This corner always used to give me fits when I first started playing GT back in the day... Now it's simply the most recognizable corner in the game and I NEVER EVER forget about it now.

I really love the 'Schumacher S' on the Nürburgring. Get it wrong and you'll end up in the dirt, get it right and you'll end up with a very big smile on your face !!

the last corner of Nurb, right-hand approaching the finish line

These are probably my least favourite corners on any track. Well, they are ever since trying to get the X2010 through them :D

The first time you take them perfectly I'm sure you will have a different opinion about that. :sly:

It's very difficult to pick a favourite corner because very few corners can be taken in isolation. To answer an earlier question, if PD took all of our favorite corners and bundled them together in one track they would probably lose their appeal. It's the speed and the line you're forced into them that make the difference.

I just did the Grand Valley 300km this weekend. The long right hander, the long left and the hairpin are the ultimate test of a car. Only the best cars can take the right and left at full throttle.

However, in 60 laps I do not think I took the two left handers after the hairpin correctly.

Nurburgring Nordshleife - I like the long clockwise corner between the start line and the finish line.

Tokyo - The right hand bend followed by the left under the subway bridge. That right hand bend has about 3 different, valid, racing lines, and if you and another driver take differing lines you'll actually overtake each other as you come out of it. The left is just a pure divebomb for all involved.

Le Mans - the section before Porsche which culimatines in the 90 degree, second gear right. Awesome!

London - The right, left, right at Haymarket. A very underrated course.

Great corners, even more awe inspiring when seen in person

1. Grand Valley - Turn 1&2 . Barreling down there in a brutish rwd car is always fun
2. Grand Valley - Turn 4&5 (the quick flick right then left before the hairpin)
3. Cape Ring - Turn... Err its the one after the loooooong right hander. Flying through there at 200+ km/h, then negotiating the quick right/left under braking. Man thats fun
4. Suzuka - Degner 1&2. Getting it perfectly through there is most rewarding.
5. Deep Forest - Final corner before the pit straight. Not difficult at all, but the feeling of speed through it is awesome.

The corner just before the third split sector on Trial Mountain. You can take it sliding, followin the fast lane, slow in and fast out. A brilliant corner. Corner 12 on the map.

The section involving corner 9 through 12 is just awesome.

I love all corners, but the ones which i cant handle are my favorites:

Karussel at the Ring: I wasnt able to get this corner perfect in a Race, never ever :)
Pit Lane exit on Laguna Seca: Dont know if this counts as it belongs to the pit lane, but i also never do it perfect (and i would like to beat the guy who designed this exit up :P)

Pflanzgarten, on the 'Ring. Straightline the esses on the approach, get a bit of air over the bump, hard on the brakes and then CUT hard right. Fun, fun, fun, especially when you do it just so.

Forget favourite game, or favourite track - let's get exact. What's your favourite corner in GT5?

Mine is Schwedenkreuz on the Nurburgring - it's the left hander after the first big straight (the straight that goes downhill then uphill). There's a crest right before the turn in point so you lose all grip, and therefor have to dab the brakes just before you turn in. Get it right and you fly through, then have barely enough time on the exit to get the car just shy of stable before you have to hammer the brakes on for the tight right-hander that follows it (Aremberg).

After the long corner, under the bridge near the start of the 'Ring, theres a set of corners that you can just go straight through without even steering and hit every apex. Really shows the sense of speed in the game and its one of the best places to pull away from supercars online in my ricer collection. Great thread btw.

It might be a little cliche, but the Corkscrew at Laguna gets my vote.

On turn-in, the car gets a little light and floaty as the road drops out from under you. If you've nailed the apex just right, the car magically slips over to the inside of the second part of the turn. Floor the throttle as soon as the weight settles back down, and you'll just kiss the tiles on the outside of the exit. It's hard to get it all just right, but when you do, it just feels so rewarding 👍

The first sector toward the tunnel on Trial mountain, it may not be a single bend, but if done correct very satisfying, if done wrong, it will go wrong.

The left hander just before "miss-hit-miss" on the Nordschleife

You turn in blind, almost towards the barrier and as you apply the power, the barrier disappears and "voila!", you're heading to miss-hit-miss.

might be generic but I love going through the section right after Aremberg on the ring..

its the section right after the sharp right with the huge sandtrap to the left

I love the Karussell at the Nurb, of course. However, my favorite (and in my opinion underrated) corner is the downhill left-hander at the end of Trial Mountain. It can really catch you off-guard if you're not careful.

That 360 degrees corner on Cape Ring. A real corner? Well the esses at Suzuka and the parts around Flugplatz and Metzgesfield. Basically, I love the first part of Nurburgring. I hate pretty much all of the track after Kallenhard.

Interestingly, and perhaps tellingly, this is where the experienced "ringer" makes most of his time. After the Karussel is where most people switch off but it is very fast and technical and if you can master it, it is where you can gain a lot of time.
