Suzuka- 130R and spoon corner
Nordschleife- flagputz,Wippermann and Aremburg allways a good race around that part of the track:)

Up to the karusell every section of the track is very distinctive, both in appearance and in technique: this bit is flat out, this bit is down a gear, this is flat again, etc. After karusell there's a long stretch in which the sections look similar / blend together, there's a lot of places that look faster than they are, and an awful lot of juggling between 3rd and 4th gear. It's very easy to go wide, and a momentary lapse of concentration can lead you to forget exactly where you are, which is usually fairly terminal.

Had never really given it much thought other than I was just lazy and didn't bother to learn the track, but you're right there are parts that are similar and confusing which complicates learning and driving it 👍

On topic, during the vettel challenge at Suzuka I really hated that quick double right hander before the hairpin at first, but after many many attempts it began to feel fantastic, especially when I got it juuuust right! Something like: let off the gas for a split second, violently throw the car into the turn, get it stop yawing parallel to and right on the left edge of the track, wheel centered, split second of braking keeping the car straight, let off the brake, violently throw it right again, stomp the gas all to be executed perfectly within what felt like two tenths of a second. It felt amazing everytime I got it right.
 
That corner before the hairpin at SSR5. It goes downhill and swoops to the left before going back uphill for the hairpin. It's totally awesome.

Might not be one corner, but the section leading up to the second corner, and the corner itself, on Tsukuba. Tsukuba is my favorite track, and the speed built up on that straight, right into that hairpin, feels great. My Supra can slide the whole way 'round. Feels so good, knowing how most people complain about Ds3's. It's all I use.
 
Mirabeau, Both tight hairpins at the downhill section after Casino Square, Ive done many a race winning overtaking manoeuvres here ;)
 
Is the foxhole the one at the 'Ring where you shoot downhill in 6th gear, go uphill and scrape your underbody, and rack up 2 lateral Gs at the top? If so, then mark me down :D
 
Hairpin at Monaco (and that flying chicane).
The Sarthe's first few Corners before the Muslaane.
The Foxhole, Schwedenkreuz, Flugpatz, and Bergwerk.
 
Turn 5 at Laguna Seca. (The left hander before heading up the hill) With the camber of the road, you can carry more speed into it than you expect. Awesome to fly through in an Elise RM
 
On nordschleife I really like the Swedenkreutz. Extremely fast, blind and challenging but also very ballsy corner. Feels pretty awesome in every car. Then I think the best section of corners on the ring is Pflantzgarten. Incredibly fun and fast section of flowing corners.

On cape ring I like the double left handers before the last right hander. Going downhill you can take the corners quite quickly if you manage to set up the car right when turning in. It's the section of corners that come after the 360 degree turn.

On Trial mountain the tiwsty section after the long back straight is pretty fun too on both directions. The downhill chicane is pretty decent for a chicane :).

A bit surprisingly I like the corners on the indy road course too after the first chicane.

On suzuka I like the esses. Monza has the variante ascari which is pretty fun corner. On Chamonix I really like the corner on this video from 0:44 onwards:

I like the 360 at cape ring. I used to hate it but now that iv got it to the point that in borderline drifting it every time I love it. As far as real corners go there is this turn on the way to my girlfriends house that is banked slightly, sharp as heck, and ok speed (usually hit it about 40-45) since I go there every day and I hit that turn with all iv got every day (trans am with track tires ;) ) you can actually see lines forming on the street. I actually teared up a little when I saw it... Its so beautiful.

Suzuka Circuit Degner Curve.

Imagine yourself in a car you rarely drive, or it could the first time your driving it. Do you go flat out and brake as late as possible? Possibly get caught in the sand trap?
Or do play it safe? Lift off the gas and know the corner will there for you to better master on each successive lap.

Another one that gives me a similar thrill is the series of turns right after the end of sector one in Grand Valley Speedway East (the short one).


Imola also has some epic corners, too bad its not in GT5.

The corners right after the Karussel, I don't know the name for it, my favorite part of the Nurburgring, those corners are awesome!
 
The last right hander at Monaco (Anthony Noghes) is definitely up there with the best. But then there's the ring, so many to choose.
 
T4 at Indy Speedway.

Are you one of the commentators on hand for the real Indy 500 televised races? They keep a jar of Vaseline and a box of tissues handy and especially enjoy Indy's turn four. Last year they labeled it as the most challenging corner in all of motorsports.

Daytona, corner 1 or 2, it doesn't matter. Possibly the most challenging corners known to man.

Bob? I didn't know Bob posted on these boards. I'm glad you could take time away from standing on the brake pedal as you creep around Daytona superspeedway to speak with us. Now I'll let you get back to braking. Good luck, Bob.
 
I can't tell you which corner I love (I enjoy the section at Tokyo after the huge right hander U shaped turn that goes down hill then back up...that's a nice corner, extremely fast)... but I can tell you which corner I absolutely hate which happens to be at Tokyo. The second to the last turn...the last one being the big turn leading up to the straights to the finish, the turn I'm talking about being the one under the overpass. It doesn't seem bad at all, until you're trying to get through there in traffic in an exceptionally fast car. When I'm grinding the dream car championship using the X2010 I'm really only paying attention when approaching this one corner because it is the most awkward, biggest pain in the ass ever. It's very easy to either over compensate and hit the left guardrail or not turn soon enough and hit the right guardrail. I'd rather do the corkscrew a hundred times instead of taking this turn.

The first corners at trial mountain all the way into the tunnel. Get it right and it all sort of flows into one big slightly drifty dream.

I was wondering when someone would chime in with Tokyo R246. I have to agree with you that the second to last turn under the bridge is challenging. I've done it many many times in the F1's on the seasonal race and it can be taken nearly flat out in 7th gear, but just barely. You've got to turn in before the turn, or execute the command on the stick just before you get to the actual turn. Takes time for all that data to get through to the tv screen, but if you manage it right it's amazing how fast you can actually slip through this turn, then a split second later hard braking for the last bit before the straight.

I do enjoy driving on Laguna Seca, the Andretti hairpin is always nice, assuming you hit the double apex just right...I did just receive this from the Laguna Seca upcoming events e-mail, and would like to share it with you all:

Accelerating hard after the slow Andretti Hairpin, you have a short distance to set up for the Turn 3 right-hander. Here, you need to aim your car toward drivers left by the number two braking marker. Turn 3 is slightly decreasing at the exit, therefore Skip Barber Racing School instructors stress the importance of slowing down for the entry, but avoid turning in early. The apex is late in the corner with moderate brake pedal before you can hit the throttle to accelerate underneath the tire footbridge on a short straight to Turn 4.

He hasn't clarified, but I think he might have been talking about the Road Course, who's turn 1 actually is pretty interesting.
