Whats your favourite corner?

It might be a little cliche, but the Corkscrew at Laguna gets my vote.
+1. It feels so nice to pull off a good Corkscrew.

Other corners, well... The last corner of Deep Forest is such a blast, I always see how hard I can push the car going around that without falling into the grass (once caused me to oversteer my way into the pits).

Another favorite would be the the turn when you're coming out of the first tunnel in Trial Mountain. Your car barley loses grip going overt that crest, making it very exciting.

Also the last corner of Trial Mountain. I think we all know why this one is so good :D

Lastly, I love the lefthand sweeper a few before the end of Suzuka. Like Deep Forest, I see how hard I can go without falling off.

Want to hear my least favorite turn?

ANYTHING FROM THE COURSE MAKER :yuck:

The hair pins on Sarthe right after the last long straight before the finishing line (not the hair pin near the finishing line though).

Flugplatz and Kesselchen at the 'Ring. It is very satisfying going there full-throttle 👍
Also, the swerving lefthander in Suzuka sector 3 (before the last chicane) and corner before Corkscrew at Laguna Seca.

I like the Pflanzgarten series of corners on the ring. Always end up careening through there, never quite sure the tires will manage to hold on this time...

I have no idea what you're referring to here...;)

The foxhole on the ring. Mostly because when actually driving the track in real life, it gets pretty intense flying down into the bottom turn at 120 mph.

Oldhairpin
Interestingly, and perhaps tellingly, this is where the experienced "ringer" makes most of his time. After the Karussel is where most people switch off but it is very fast and technical and if you can master it, it is where you can gain a lot of time.

That's exactly what would happen to me for the longest time, lose all kinds of time after the first karusell, why is that exactly?? Took me much longer to learn the track after karusell than what came before it. So strange that it's a common thing.

This. I love the Corkscrew, but I have to agree with the last corner on Deep Forest Raceway. Its amazing fun that one. It feels so rewarding when you nail it.

Up to the karusell every section of the track is very distinctive, both in appearance and in technique: this bit is flat out, this bit is down a gear, this is flat again, etc. After karusell there's a long stretch in which the sections look similar / blend together, there's a lot of places that look faster than they are, and an awful lot of juggling between 3rd and 4th gear. It's very easy to go wide, and a momentary lapse of concentration can lead you to forget exactly where you are, which is usually fairly terminal.

On turn-in, the car gets a little light and floaty as the road drops out from under you. If you've nailed the apex just right, the car magically slips over to the inside of the second part of the turn. Floor the throttle as soon as the weight settles back down, and you'll just kiss the tiles on the outside of the exit. It's hard to get it all just right, but when you do, it just feels so rewarding 👍

👍

1. Bergwerk (making an out-in-out there feels like doing a slingshot maneuver, very nice!)

2. Fuchsröhre (nice sense of speed there)

3. Schwedenkreuz

4. The entire section from Angstkurve (true) to Döttinger Höhe, because it's always exciting to see what the Nordschleife got waiting for me over the next bend! Sort of like Christmas every time :)

Pretty much totally agree here. When I rode around it on a GSX-R 1000, I got "lost" a couple of times with the sameness of it after the Karussel. Now I've done over 2 hundred laps on here, when I go back this year in the car, I won't get lost again :)

The 3 corners after the first hairpin at Grand Valley get my poll, I like how in something fast like my Speed 8, 905 and my X1 you can take them at pretty much full speed and not smack a wall, Such good fun :D

Schumacher S's on the Nurburgring GP. Such a rewarding corner when you get it right. It's so fast and you have to take it that way otherwise you lose the exit speed and the laps gone. It's a really scary corner for me.
Tying for first place is the second section of the Nurburgring and right before the Karousell. It's so fast and in the ring it's a win or lose section and frightening.

Bergwerk. Screw up here and plummet your time for the long stretch of straight following. Nail it though, which is reasonably tricky, and you are set for a great top speed.

Also, how fun it is to get right:
1. Bergwerk (making an out-in-out there feels like doing a slingshot maneuver, very nice!)
