When are you all expecting news?

When Stage 2 of GT Academy starts lol.

That is when i expect to see some news about GT5! Probably not alot but i think we will see something new!!

Indeed, french Playstation blog annouced a few days ago that round 2 will be held at the Paul Ricard Circuit on the 6th of February. The 20 lucky ones will have the opportunity to drive both 370Z and GT-R Nissans in a special edition of GT5 for an “unseen” experience.

All fingers crossed, we will at least get confimation for “The Other Track” that was rumored some time ago.

I personally think the E3.

Mid February. Because March was intended release date, then supposly its pushed back by one month, but thats for Japanese market, US and Europe? who knows. But I expect some news for February.

So... Paul Ricard, Silverstone... i'm not following 100% the stage 2 of the academy, but it seems like most of the finals will happen on places seen before in the GT5 Prologue weather forecast...

If those tracks are in the game, that's the time to show.

Yes, the final build can't be much more better looking.

It could be much better but only if PD aimed its priority at improving obviously shoddy things instead of perfecting things that are already perfect.

Haha you sound like a spiritual medium doing a seance, google 'Derek Acorah Michael Jackson' for a hilarious example, i really hope you're right.

I've just ordered Dirt 2, I've been hammering MW2 and Uncharted 2 a fair bit so needed a new racing game. Is Shift worth getting?

Just so this isn't completely off topic I think we'll get some more info from the GT5TT stage 2 events but nothing groundbreaking or release windows for a while longer.

A few others have said this, and this is what I'm thinking. Some news around the commencement of Stage 2 of the Academy. Then some more news by the first or second week of March.

What does "news" mean to you all exactly? A release date set for March '10 in Japan only to have it snatched away?

Perhaps some comforting words from Yamauchi-san saying "it's at a point we can release it any time we want" as he did back in June of last year?

Honestly, I've learned to put very little weight in the supposed news from PD or Sony, as it always leads to frivolous hopes that end in disappointment.

I honestly no longer have a clue about when this game will come out and good ol' education is in full flow. When it comes it comes but my hype meter has died down from what it was a couple months ago. I thought the game would release late last year let alone March and even that has been delayed.

Day 1 when it comes out and we pretty much know most of the games features, just a matter of the damn game releasing! From a business point of view I can totally see Sony releasing the game holiday 2010 so yeah......whatever really. I play quite a few games these days due to being stuck in the house all the time so GT5 has taken the back burner. GOW III, FFXIII, Bioshock 2 etc are games I care about much more at this point.

I don't know man. I think GT5 really could end up coming out after E3 at this point. Which is incredibly 🤬 pathetic, but if history has taught us anything it's that PD pushes it far, far beyond any reasonable timeframe into the ridiculous zone, every time.

Ah yes I've been to Liverpool a few times, seen that Derek Acorah bloke on TV. Wasn't he a big fake or something?

and as for Shift.. it's good but there are a few glitches in it. Sometimes the grid girls will appear standing inside the car, and sometimes the car doesn't drive after you get a green light. And sometimes it freezes during loading screens. But it is very good. Great sounds apart from being deliberatly distorted (apparently that gives it a more realistic sound?) the handling is a bit weird and the cockpit goes blurry when you go fast. That said you do get a real sense of speed. Some great tracks and great cars, can fully race mod a car.

Money is very easy to earn, by the time you reach the end of career mode you should have about 10 million dollars.
major downside is you can only have one of every car.

It's sort of like grid in a way.

actually.. that said about the glitches.. mine hasn't done it for a while since I downloaded some patch. That Patch also gave me Supra, old school Charger, Challenger and old school Shelby GT500.
