I'm just not sure anymore. I will get it, but right now, sony just shot themselves in the foot. Out side of hardcore fans, people will see this as just a big joke, and GT5 will lose sales. This is absolutely disgusting.
Well there goes EB Game's "Turismo Tuesday" stunt. Their going to have to make it 30 more weeks of the countdown on their website.
Polyphony is a joke of a developer... 5 years, come on. LOL. Im honestly about to sell my PS3..../
That "joke" developer somehow listened to nearly every fan request (dynamic weather, damage, day/night cycles ect). I don't think that it's that big of a deal to give them the time needed to make sure the game is polished properly considering all the content it has. There's no doubt that we all want the game and so the delay is upsetting, but to act like Polyphony is a joke is completely off base.
If people are so shallow that they will cancel their pre-orders or not buy it altogether because of a delay, I say good riddance. Have a nice day. Now maybe those of us that are patient enough to wait can enjoy a decent racing experience without being plowed into a wall because you're pissed at a game's delay and feel like taking it out on someone else.![]()
I'm waiting for GT6.
I don't even have a choice!
Sony NZ is sending me a copy as soon as they get them so it really doesn't matter what i think
Right because PD never said they wouldn't announce a release date untilled they are ABSOLUTELY SURE they can meet that deadline. Oh wait, he did. I'm close to saying f PD. I appreciate the passion and time they put in but the game is done. It can be patched later. They've finally announced a release daate after spending a rediculous amount of time making it. Just release the GD thing already. There really are no video excuses for this f up and pissing your customers off Is about the worst thing a company can do before the product is even out.
For the record I have the ce preordered but I'm canceling it and using the money to buy moh tomorrow to pass the time till they finally release gt5. Then ill pick up the regular edition. If u think its shallow that's your issue. For me its a a financial decision. No sense leaving my money down on a game that isn't going to release till who knows when when I can use the money to get a game now that I want.
Heh, so "absolutely sure" means 100% definite now? Absolutely sure says 90%+ certainty to me, but by no means does it make anything definite, it just means they will try to meet that deadline.
You have every right to be disappointed that they missed the deadline but they have no duty to release the game at any particular point. They could release it in 2013 and people would still buy it (and it would still be awesome).
You should know better than assume a release date is concrete, its simply an objective, and objectives can be missed and changed. This applies to anything. I would advise anyone to keep the faith and buy this game ASAP though...getting hot under the collar about release dates is pointless, the game is worth any and all waiting.
So you would rather they put out a game that has bugs in it that potentially drives people away and have it patched later? That opinion is fine, obviously, but on the flip side, I'd rather have a game that I can play right away instead of having to download a 4Gb patch first. I don't know about you, but when I crack open a new game, I'm like a kid on Christmas morning - I want to play, I don't want to have to wait!pissing your customers off Is about the worst thing a company can do before the product is even out.
I get that you're pissed at the delay, and I'll be honest, I am a bit, too. The difference between myself and a lot of other people in this thread (and many others) is they are pendulums. When things are going good and we're getting updates and screenshots, they're all happy campers. We get a little hiccup like a(nother) changed release date and all of a sudden it's "🤬 PD!" All I'd like to see is a bit of common sense (see pic belowFor the record I have the ce preordered but I'm canceling it and using the money to buy moh tomorrow to pass the time till they finally release gt5. I think the phrase is cutting off your nose to spite your foot. Yes, we're all annoyed at the constant delays and the tomorrow never comes release dates but the only person that not buying it would harm is yourself, because you'd miss out on the exact game you're annoyed about not getting Nov 2.
Nearly six years ago what was shown in that initial video was breathtaking, the likes of which had never been seen before. Today there are numerous games that if they haven't surpassed that they are certainly getting close. By the time GT5 is released let's just hope it's not an also ran compared to the other games/platforms available (Forza 6 on an XBox 1080 anyone?)

All I'd like to see is a bit of common sense (see pic below) and understanding that all the complaining in the world isn't going to change a single thing and at the end of the day IT'S A GAME. Contrary to popular belief, it's not the end of the world.
And until we know the actual cause of the delay, a bug is certainly a viable option. That's assuming that
a) this delay is strictly about a nasty bug or bugs, and the fixes required.
b) that the final release copy won't have bugs either.
Yeah! Damage!Apparently complaining does change things; we got damage.
I think at this point, the expectations are so high for GT5 that it can't possibly live up to them. I think when the reviews come out, they might take into account the development cycle and the budget of the game, and that will work against it.
