One thing I just found out. There is a new PS3 system update. Wondering if it has anything to do with this.
Might Sony give us the ban hammer?

Wishes I could pop popcorn

Looks like there is also a new system update (4.41) being released now for the PS3 to fix "minor issues" to do with system stability...

You beat me to it.

So i found abit of an anomaly in my garage today after undoing my modded cars i found 1 car that just wouldnt change back no matter what i tryed.

It's the 1st hacked car i got from a friend and its a 91 Acura NSX and after trying to get it to reset in a few different ways it still has 14k hp..

it depends on how the car was modded, the latest update didn't revert any mods using hidden parts that were already in the game, it could have been modded with either NOS, or higher engine or turbo stages, if that's the case the cars retain the huge numbers even after 2.12

Really illustrates how good 2.12 was at "saving the integrity of the online racing community from the evil hybrids"

I'm waiting until the second portion of the update goes through and is commented on and see what transpires before i update. Hopefully there will be goodies released which do add something to the game other than a different (well, different in name anyways) race event every couple of weeks which are just rehashed previous seasonals anyway.

I will probably still update as at least these events are something different to do and I don't have the time to spend longer hours playing the game these days. Plus the opportunity to help others out by sharing goodies is to me an essential part of the game to be played.

Take a look around and actually read some threads. That question has been answered a thousand times.

I know but, for gods sake! Loads of people are ranting about how PD has 'robbed' them of their Hybrids. They shouldnt even exist, no matter what the circumstance. We already have the X1!!

Found out the HP multiplier still works about a half hour ago. Hahahaha. There's even a video of it.

I have the same car it wasn't reset because the individual parts on the car were given multipliers, the hp

multiplier was never used, that's also why the powerband is so screwed up.

After 2.12 you can still increase horsepower into the thousands but actually hybriding a car by swapping parts is no longer possible.

Nitrous doesn't work, it gets intalled but the game removes it right away.

I really suggest you guys dont update. Online play is much better without you all anyway. It will help clean up online play to only those interested in a simulated race experience with fair play ethics and respect for competitors. I congratulate all involved in the flushing out of these cheaters and hackers and may they forever race their toy cars with their internet cable laying on the ground :) thankyou

Seriously, it is poorly opinionated garbage like this that is beyond being worthy of a serious retort.

I gather the cars you are racing are real and not just the result of computerised programming???

No , the cars I drive are a result of many years of dedication from a group of proffesional real life race car drivers and software proffesionals.

It's actually still sort of fun playing the game online without the hacks... I've already won all the races, special events, license tests; so it's just kind of fun to chill/hang out in rooms.

Ehh, whatever, it was fun while it lasted.

Great to have you back man. +1 :)👍

Have you actually read anything anyone else has had to say or is this just an assumption you choose to carry around in ignorance? Inflammatory as it might be, I'll bite... if you want to meet me on any track and in any car once I have updated, I'll be happy to give you a clean and fair driving lesson. In the mean time, I suggest you do some reading or don't bother saying anything else.

Ive read a bit , but come on its 24 pages , mostly filled with hackers whinging about their over gripped and over powered cars bieng taken from them blah blah blah. This is my ps3 name , add me and Ill be happy to recieve that lesson fast-fulch

I don't think you understand that we're not just a bunch of kids wanting to go 999mph for the sake of it.

A lot of us made real-life replica's of tuner cars, we were able to drop our cars a little lower (since GT5 ride height is VERY limited), we could get better wheel fitments (since most wheel fitments on GT5 look horrid), we could do engine swaps that are popular in real life, the list goes on.

There are the kids that just wanted to go stupidly fast, yeah, but us car enthusiasts finally got the chance to make the cars we see and love in real life and on youtube videos.

It wasn't about cheating, it was about our love for cars.

These lessons available to anyone? I'll happily modify my opinions and post something immature about hybrids if I can get my arse kicked and learn how to drive better. :D

Thats a good reply streeto , and I can understand that side of it. Im just glad to see it not available online. Ive dealt with hackers in many games and you know , its frustrating. Point taken

I've been thinking about joining the WRS, I'm just worried I'll get a lucky couple of attempts and be too highly placed, or do my usual thing of sucking in Time Trials and then be accused of sandbagging if I take part in an event and do too well. Oh well, I'll get back to killing brain cells while I'm thinking over making my eighth account...

See: WRS online events and racing series. Too many people rely on public rooms for quality, clean racing. :ouch:

quality, clean racing in public room, it does not exist, it is a urban myth.
Your recommendation ( links) for quality, clean racing and great company are where it is happening.
Funny enough, Hybrid has never been an issue at WRS online events or any racing league I know of and definitely not an issue in the league I am in, Dead Nuts Even Racers.

+1 👍

I won't be updating, as I just discovered making hybrids is possible after the update was released and it has given GT5 a new lease of life for me, as I haven't played in over a year.
I never go online anyway and now I can use cars I wouldn't use before, like the S15 silvia that was so ugly with it's wrong wheel offset. Also I can make cars look good enough that I actually enjoy photo mode now and have many cars to choose from that I wouldn't have bothered with before.

I don't mean to 'be that guy', but stating someone is wrong purely on the basis that you are a professional, without any evidence of such, and without actually providing any counter-argument as to suggest how he is wrong doesn't tend to fly. I actually thought he laid a pretty convincing overview of the potential design processes of a major dev studio.

I was just guessing at PD's intentions. Hence all the soft language. I work at a datacenter not Valve. While I've been acquainted with people in the game industry and made some games (pencil-and-paper rpg/strategy stuff) in my youth... I can't claim to be an expert on the subject. Though I doubt *this* Japanese studio takes an off the cuff approach to the only game they make. And everything I've ever read that came out of Kaz's mouth points to him being an old-school car guy; not a hot-rodder.

If you had actually read the thread or educated yourself on the topic first you would have looked a lot more respectable to everyone here. Good practice to adhere to in the future.

pds efforts are wasted. 1 day later and people have figured out how to get around some of the things they took away in 2.12. hp mods are possible again.. just can't swap engines/chassis... yet.

focus on gt6 and mayhaps listen to what the community is doing and incorporate it into gt6.

I already updated. I never had any part in hybriding but I still consider realistic hybriding to be cool. Who wouldn't want a 2JZ in a toyobaru or an old AE86? PD should add drivetrain swaps and engine swaps in GT6 to more or less compensate for the hybriding fiasco. I highly doubt it though.
