So you like it easy a quick?

The game should have come with an unlock all button. Seriously why does it mater to anyone else how someone gets his cars or money? I've never understood that weak stick argument, run for office if you like telling others what they can and cannot do even when what they do has no effect on anyone else.

Oh, and no I'm not updating but I would if I still played the game. I'd most likely be too lazy to hybrid anyway

I don't know what that is.
LOL

I'm aware of the mythical concept of "not abusing the power limiter so much that it makes your car slower," thanks.

👍

LOL Yeah slower going down the straight. With a stage 3 motor then detuning it is only good for going in a straight line, getting you down the straight alot faster. For what? To show that YOUR car is faster and not you? Big deal I got fast hot wheel, I just send them down the track with a push. I would rather been seen as a faster driver than a faster car. A car doesn't move with driver, wait a sec yes it can. Put a brick on the peddle and put it in too gear. A car can't perform with a driver I should say. Though to the tuning, I'll beat you out of the turn but you'll get me down the straight. "HENCE straight line"

i think he meant "wannabe."
yes lol!!

@Arora
I just stated he like it quick and easy. He clearly said the same thing. He would rather click here or there to get what he wants. Hence "Quick and Easy" It's not that hard to understand.

Some people have had the game for quite a while, and have played through the game already, like myself. Beyond that, it's a way around the endless grinding PD forces you to go through to earn credits and cars in GT.

Has it ever crossed your mind that some people don't have $500-$1000 to build a gaming computer to play PC sims? Not to mention a wheel if they don't already have one. I used to play PC sims, rFactor, GTR2, iRacing, the lot. My computer became outdated and I haven't had the funds to build a new gaming computer. I'm sure there are a lot of people in the same boat.

I've also built mods for GTR2 and rFactor, and there is a huge amount of learning involved that unless you know someone who is willing to spend the time showing you the ropes is next to impossible to learn on your own. It's not as easy as typing a few words on a forum as you have so eagerly done. The only wrong turn in this tread is the wrong turn your thought process took.

PD has been ruining their reputation since GT5 launched. Taking this away from the community is just another notch in their belt.

I see a "banned" next to your screen name in the near future. Keep it up 👍

Yep , I know what your saying , as this exact thing happened to me. I raced Rfactor and Iracing untill I just couldnt afford to upgrade anymore , so went PS3 racing. Thinking that ps3 is a piece of hardware running software that puts everyone on par. Ive known people to find 1.5 secs a lap purely from a PC upgrade. So , what are you doing ? looking for that advantage anywhere you can get it ? or just stuffing with cars for fun ? Either way it is not a welcomed activity from the game designers , case closed. I think everyone here should think themselves lucky that we have a game designer willing to work on the product and keep it fair for all. Many ps3 games have been thrown to the hackers with no-one taking any care or responsibilty (BO2). Kudos to PD for standing by their product and providing us all with an ongoing service. Not just taking our money and letting the game go to the dogs...

+1

I had to stop GTR2 as the random BSOD was driving me nuts!

Good to see that there are still some decent folks with level heads in the game.

It's hard to understand why you care, that is my point. Maybe you don't care but then why bring it up?

I've seen plenty of people on this board that can't stand it if the game is played a different way then what they feel is the 'right' way.

I think I've made it pretty clear I don't do it to cheat. I don't need to cheat, I'm pretty quick. Barely missed GT academy and I was one of the people that didn't use the BS skid recovery or whatever it was. I mod for fun and creation. I don't know what's so hard to understand about that.

I will give you that we are privileged to have updates this far into the life cycle. However, a lot of updates aren't very substantial and cause new problems. Take the update that changed the PP system, it was quickly reverted. PD also promised updates every two months when the game first launched. We all saw how that turned out.

I am not calling you a cheat , I asked the reason you hack , and explained that it is not welcome regardless of reason. I am also not questioning update success or frequency I am purley regarding PDs response to hackers.

OK so what is the right way? Do you have any idea? If so PLEASE TELL ALL!! Though you are right about the people, I think, “Just a thought” many people here have their own idea of what GT5 means to them. Some JUST see it as a GAME and will do as they please because they feel it's the right thing to do and it’s just a game to them nothing more. Then you have the people who see GT5 as an outlet for their dreams, driving the car of their dreams, driving the track or portending to be a PRO driver battling against some of the greats. Or you have those same people after the making of GT Academy whom changed their mindset to work hard on their skills hopping to get a ride.

Yes we all have our own thoughts and ideas on what to do with GT5, though the end result is racing or what is going on now could be called racing. In all ends is all down to whom has the fastest car, which has the best setups that works on all the tracks, instead of having one setup that is BEST for that one track. I guess some people don’t have the time to test or don’t want to, or just lazy to build a setup book. The right way for me to play GT5 is to play it as if I’m on the real track, with real world rules and to get to REAL WORLD number within the means of what we have. And this means breaking in my car before I build them in stages to get the number I’m looking. You don’t have to put on everything to get what you want out of the cars for the track. True we can’t get some of the cars over 600 horses because we weren’t given the option. So some of you found a way around it so you can have that option, for some it got them banned others like Turbo “who got sick of on-line racing due to the lack of true racers in open lobbies” Better to find in a private lobby, though it hard some time to get well rounded drivers on your friend list.

The update was the update even if it was a ghost update and for good reasoning too. PD and Kaz have been honest with us and gave us what we asked for within means. Then all this goes and then we get a ghost up that stated “Fixes for some minor issues”, not knowing it removed the hacked cars from people garage after viewing them. This will cut down on how many rooms are open, or it may have people rethink the way they play GT5 or if they’ll play another GT title again because they can’t do a motor, driveline or what ever swap.

The main issue with this argument is you acting as if your poll with a sample size of 3 hundred-thousanths of a percent of GT5's sales is a notably more valid one in terms of something to base an argument around than his poll (covering an entirely different topic, honestly) with a sample size of 8 millionths of a percent. And a similar thing (though with drastically different numbers) would occur in any community you ask on the issue; because more people hybrid and/or have an opinion about it than join forums and vote about hybriding.

True but this is more so to open source PC simulators. And lately you can't find a open source PC simulator because they are handing out cash prizes. And if you are found cheat in those sims for cash you will go to jail. My question to you is "How does a open source PC sim pertain to the PS3 and GT5?"

I have no idea why you addressed me with that tl;dr post. Did you read the convo unfold?
Yes I did, and I added some of my thoughts. Though this comment doesn't answer the question. "What is the right way to play?"

Because you quoted him

Maybe Zuel missed the fact that you don't play GT5? So why do you care :odd:

Call it what you want. But i have done GT5 100% legit (A-Spec) even the 24 hour endurance races each in one day with a stock LMP car.

Also have done this on seven different PSN accounts. So cheater I am not. I am just goofing off on my latest profile.

And like I have said before I am on my 8th account doing the same thing
A true fan of GT. I also have other accounts for GT5, though I haven't gone as far as you on the others.

I just enjoy the game. Always been a fan. That's why i said before hybrids or not I will still play and continue to enjoy it.

There is no 'right' way, I didn't think my post was so hard to understand. I already know this silly game of words you guys like to play lol.

If you want my opinion on what the update did, I'll say PD can do whatever they want with their servers. If you want my opinion on what people do in a game that does not effect me , I don't care what they do but some of you do.

👍 although I obviously care a little , I race league races so its easy to play fair there. Just showing my support for what PD have done. Nice post arora

I'm not playing words with you arora; I just wanted you to share your thoughts on the right way to play that is all. I do understand your comments before hand; I never said or stated in any fashion that I didn't. All I know the way a lot if not all of us started playing GT5 is buy maxing everything out to see what shacks lose and then finding the best or fastest car for pacific pp class once the power limiter was unlocked for GT5. Then we all see the runners’ car which is no need to get into but the fact is there. A small few have gone to build cars to class running at 100% power with no detune and are having a real good time racing. Having some very close pack racing, like 5 to 7 car pack within 50th, one mess up and you’re passed, you go off track three or four cars pass you. Unlike the racing now with people running what they all know is fast or trying to get something else just as fast but failed because of the limits of that car with that tune.

So the story goes on. Now we have more than HALF of the GT5 drivers off line because of this ordeal. SO there is really no right way to play after this. Is there?

You really don't have to max the motor, add a stage 3 weight, high rpm turbo or what ever then de-tuning to get a car to class.

This Convo could go on forever. The point is you are not going to get an answer on the right way to play and arora never had one in mind. The right way to play is personal choice but one thing for sure , its obviuolsy within the parameters of the game ( as released and patched by PD)

I dunno, how does it? Because I wasn't at all talking about any open source PC sims, so I in fact have no idea what you are talking about.

He did answer my question though. And you're correct Fulch, all within the parameters of GT5.

There is no 'right' way

One thing I noticed. Not 100% that it's 2.12 but it has to have been recent but, now if you run a bspec in the X2011(not for sure if the X2010 does it to) your driver will try to Pit on every lap which get's rather annoying on a 30 lap race.

Typical PD, they patch one thing and break 5 others.

That wasn't my original point at all. I was commenting on the fact that people are talking about having to grind for credits and or xp when in fact they are in so much abundance, they end up being effectively worthless.

Doesn't everyone? :sly:

I think the answer to that is personal preference. For me, the enjoyment and satisfaction of a game comes when I have had to actually play/think/put time into a game to receive its rewards. Using cheats to just open the game up without having to have done anything yourself, for me, takes out alot of the fun. Maybe some people prefer the easy way through?

I get what you are saying. And i total agree. But as many times as I have played GT5 and on how many times I have beaten this game over and over again. I will tell you right now that there is absolutely no way to do the game without grinding in some way. With the credit cap especially impossible. Add up all of A-Spec and B-Spec prize money and you will see what I mean.
In my opinion that's where the seasonal races come into play.

I enjoy actually playing 100% legit. I mean i must considering I have done so without any hacks seven times.

Maybe I am understanding what you mean. Sorry if I am not. But cheating on single player to me is using a overpowered car like the Red Bull to win the singleplayer mode.

Not the money system that was flaud to being with.

Maybe I am not fully understanding your post. Like i said i am sorry if I am not. Haven't slept in a a day and a half and sleeping pills just kicked in haha. So forgive me if I am going about your post wrong.

First, my response was an innuendo. I wasn't saying everyone likes it that way

I'm the same way, but like I said earlier I've already played through the game. And to me, it's not cheating. I shouldn't have to search for hours or days to find one car in the UCD. Garage editor allows me to get the car I'm looking for without having to search, and I can mod from there to create what I'm looking for. I remember about 6 months ago I was looking for a standard Ford Mustang GT and I literally spent 2 hours refreshing the UCD to find one. It saves endless amounts of real world time, and to me that's enough reason itself.
