I know this guy from Sweden and he claims The Rolling Stones are the best band ever. He's my wife's best and oldest friend's husband. I never really clicked with him. It's hard to just smile and nod.

What was so bad about Boston? I happened to like them...Styx aren't half-bad either. REO Speedwagon is iffy. Doesn't help that the lead-singer was kind of a fruit-loop (in both ways).
 
All those bands suck. Having grown up in the '70s, I can honestly say that the world would have been a better place if none of them had existed. Add Kansas to that list.

The Ramones rule. I don't mind Smashmouth.

My Number One Hated Band, on the list for combining the absolute least amount of talent with the absolute most obnoxious arrogance, has to be Limp Bizkit.

Without a doubt, Blink 182, and every band that tries to mimic them.

Oh, and Van Halen, for not getting their **** together already. I am beyond sick to death that they still can't see eye to eye on anything. They also happen to be my most favorite band too.

So many choices. I mean... Vengaboys, A1, Westlife, Boyzone, Steps, Cher, Cheeky Girls, Gareth Gates, Whitney Houston, Prince. All serious contenders.

However, my current least favourite artist is...

Busted.

I would bust their smug mop-topped faux-styled heads if I could.

I quote from one of their songs:

Right. So they live under water. If that's "not much of a change", then what is it? And "your great great great grand-daughter" being pretty fine? If we assume 25 years per generation, that would make her 872 years old, and therefore somewhat wrinkled, one assumes.

Actually, I rather suspect that the requisite number of "great"s were added until the rhyme scanned. Which just goes to back up my claim that it's peurile meritless garbage, and that they'll be the first band up against the wall when I take over the world.

See, there's no point if you're just going to post shlocky crap. Obviously those acts suck; nobody expects them to be good as long as they sell records for any reason. It's simply barrel-fish shooting to post them.

It's more meaningful to go after bands that actually had some critical acclaim, and a core of sycophantic followers who were convinced the band was The Second Coming, and who actually believed it themselves.

Fluff is fluff, there's no sport in proving it's fluff.
 
Okay. Hootie and the Blowfish. They blow (get it?).

Poison should be up there too. I bet there are a lot of peopel who think they were the first and second coming. I don't know if they have any critical acclaim.
 
But you're suppose to hate them. And by using the modifier 'almost' you imply that you like at least one boy band. What gives?

Abstain from boys bands. ABSTAIN!

It's a fair point, and it's well made.

With that, I retract "Busted" from the table, and replace them with...

R.E.M.

Michael Stipe's hackneyed, self-obsessed, sometimes socio-political whining really sticks in my throat.

How have they managed to sustain such success? They've done two good songs. Ever. That's not a good strike rate for a band that have released that many albums.
