And Kimi. I'd be wearing the Monaco livery.

How dare you even compare Kimi with Crashjean? Its like saying: "Oh yes the new Mclaren P1 is equally good as the Lada 1200".

And then something about bad online experiences. hmm. 2 days in a row without major issues. Little bit annoing when I start room for hotlapping and just for fun driving, some guy starts to bashing everyone "LoL why wont you pussies race?". Cassiotus used kick - It was very effective.

Kimi crashed too (thanks Perez)

But I'm still wearing Daft Punk so I'm ok

You get that in many cruise rooms or people going "Change track" "unlimited PP pls" or something

I'm thinking of making a room right now before going on to finish (At extremely slow pace) the National A races.

I was in a drift lobby today with my Fiat 500. Not too much went wrong. I did get hit by an annoying Swede and other leadfoot drivers that kamikaze the turns.

Other than that, I had a lot of fun and joked around with other drivers when I started drifting my Veyron.

This GT game is really fun actually, I came in expecting the work of satan but instead I came out with a smile on my face.

Who's up for a room?

I entered a track day lobby at Fuji Speedway GT and I was having a good time with my slightly modded Jaguar XKR-S until some guy joined in with his mic bellowing his voice everywhere and annoying me and other drivers just trying to concentrate on our driving (I'll call him Raj since I can't mention PSN names). One user got fed up after 1-2 minutes and told him to shut up (I'll call this guy Alan). Raj decided to talk back to Alan while thinking Alan was talking about his accent when he never mentioned the accent, not even once. I then see Raj coming towards me in the opposite direction in a Redbull x2011 and hits my Jag head on. I tried to dodge him, but he swerved his car towards me. Raj now is telling me to watch where I'm going when he hitted me on purpose and he was driving the WRONG way around the track. He then left and I just decided to switch to my new Viper and keep driving.

Kids - Not Even Once

Went into any lobby ever and everyone had racing tires on street cars... even the 450pp lobby was all racing softs. Where are all the DRVIERS ??

People who are more serious about gentlemanly racing won't put up with this:

Since most lobbies are poorly run, and on RS tires, most of the gentlemanly drivers avoid online like the plague. If PD had a ranking system or driver rating system, I suspect online would be a lot busier and the quality of racing would go up exponentially.

Had someone asking in a cruise club to raise the hp to 1000, why do you need 1000+ hp to cruise.

I thought I saw you pop into my room the other night. The fact is, we are all play driving in pretend cars on make believe tires.

Why not choose the best?

Skill, challenge, realism, difficulty etc. etc. etc.

Skill, challenge, realism, difficulty etc. etc. etc.
Skill. Does it take more skill to pass someone with sports tire using sports tires than it does to pass someone with racing tires using racing tires?

With both drivers wearing racing tires I would think it would be harder since both of them are going faster.

Challenge. The drivers are equally matched so…

Realism. Yes driving GT6 on comfort tires feels just like the car I drive to work every day. Oh wait…

Difficulty. Oh my god, I feel…

etc. like I am

etc. going around

etc. in circles here.

That system could easily be abused. "I don't like this guy. Minus points." Would happen a lot

Yknow the saying "Build it and they shall come"?

Make the lobby and they shall join.

This really. Drivers with RS tyres racing drivers with RS tyres is trying to level the playing field. Not "LOL I CAN'T DRIVE OR TUBE SO ILL FIT RS TO MY TERRIBLE TUNE AND CRASH A LOT"

My Rocket runs RS because it allows the best grip to exploit my tube up. Not to give me an unfair advantage.

Skill: yes it does take more skill, you are having to deal with lower grip, easier wheel spin, and having to manage you weight distribution. you just plain have to be better to make a pass on sport tires.

Challenge: Drivers are equally matched when they are on rails too, your argument here is invalid. When it takes more skill to control a car, the driver will shine through the tune and the tires. on RS the driver doesn't matter. when you have less grip, a better driver can win in a worse car by having better control and consistency.

Realism: it's funny that you complain about realism when it says on the box "the real driving simulator". This is the only game where you can get an understanding of how powerful these super cars are. I've driven a lot of them IRL and it's amazing how some of the real life characteristics are mirrored in the game. all of that gets washed away with RS tires though. this is the the only game where you can race a bunch of slower crappier cars and it still be exciting because of the realism. when someone spins out all the time on comfort or sport tires, it's not cause the game sucks...

I disagree, every driver that normally plays on RS tires that comes into my lobby cannot keep their car under control. I can almost guarantee that the same would be true with your rocket. If you tune a street car on racing tires it is not tuned. the excessive grip is masking trouble areas and car characteristics that you won't know about unless you go down on tires. A RS tune could be good on RS tires and suck on everything else. A properly tuned car will be good on any tire and only need to be stiffened up as you go higher in grip.

I guess what i'm trying to get across is that you will never get better if you always play a game on easy. Why play something as competitive as a racing game if you aren't looking for competition and a challenge ?

There are very simple ways to do this that require no input from individual members. One way would be to have a licensing system similar to WRS. Have a fixed event, perhaps 3 cars on 3 tracks, a daily driver on comforts, a sports or supercar on SH and a race car on RH. You get a total track time of X and PD takes your best laps, averages them out in a formula of some kind and you get a license. Say for the sake of argument A,B,C,D,E. Now you have a way to sort out your lobbies based on the skill level of drivers with a separate category for those that didn't complete the test at all. If you so choose, you can restrict access to your lobby to any skill level. Generally, clean driving follows the skill level, although it's not guaranteed of course, but it will help.

A driver rating system could follow with that, similar to iRacing. While it can be abused by people who intentially ram you, the fact remains, if that is their strategy it won't be for long, because their driver rating quite quickly will become really low, and you can just exclude them from your lobbies.

Any of you experienced lag? I've had a few shunts that the other guys described differently.

Also, I think the main issue with online is that everyone has his own braking points and racing line. I get brake checked a lot, not on purpose.

That's why I have to break earlier... :scared:
