If online access is restricted then he can't get the free car I believe. Is there a trick here? My son., who has a legit PSN account, but is under 18, did NOT get a car for his birthday yesterday. He was so sad... Thoughts? The account has his correct and real birthday in the system...

Thanks Blitz - he's restricted from chat, so that prohibits him from all on-line. Bummer. Anyway to get the gift after-the-fact??? Guess I should un-restrict my other boys account then, ah? At least the week of his birthday (Jan)...

What about gifting just the ticket? Has that been limited to one ticket a day too? Anyone tried yet?
Birthday gifts are bound to your time zone which is set on ps3. You can use it to get back to your birthday if its not too late.
I could be wrong about gifts sending though, it was just an idea.
I think developers are bit angry now. Because the game took so much time to develop and it turned out it has such major flaw which spoils the game. These fancy cars are supposed to be a mark of big accomplishment but instead anyone could get them for nothing and in enormous quantities.
Some said that it wasn't cheating or they don't have time to get something. Obviously the game design wasn't meant for b-day gift abuse.
I used this flaw myself, however I think if you have to cheat in game than probably that game is just not for you.![]()

What about 'infinite money'? Would it be a cheat?I don't really consider getting cars cheating. Having a car does not = automatic game progression. Now, if it was gifting XP than that would be a different matter.

Money in GT5 is mainly for cars and parts.
So you are getting cars for free and most of them could be sold and many of them have quite high sell value to provide you with parts and upgrades and you still don't think its a cheating?
Think it over.![]()

Its true. I'm experienced in cheating though so I know what I'm talking about.I take it you don't have much experience with GT5. lol

First off, many of the real expensive race cars in the game cannot be sold. I, personally, only collect race cars and none of them can be sold that I currently own.
Secondly, the resale of MOST cars is pretty horrible. It would be faster to race for money than birthday glitch for it (outside of the '44 wagon).
It isn't really cheating since it actually has no effect on anything.
I can either birthday gift myself an R92 and use it in X-Race, OR, I can grind a different race and buy an R92 and use it in X-Race.
Same outcome.
WOW, this is probably the shortest and best comeback to anyone saying the glitch is cheating, seriously, how do you argue with that? How is racing the same simple race over and over again with your overpowered car (which is what grinders do) different than using the birthday glitch? just because the glitch is faster its cheating? No, I would say, racing a race over and over again is also cheating!
For those who say they want it to be realistic, well in "real life" would you be able to do the same race over and over with your overpowered car and just clean up on winnings day after day, NO! CHEATERS, hahaha
now if someone says they are going to beat the game and only repeat races to medal up but never after getting a gold, then that is different, or ones who say they will only race till they get any medal and move on...
PD, we demand the birthday glitch back!
_stiggums - You cant bypass it.
Watevaman - Yeah going to try 2009 and then 2008. Wish it didnt take so long to create minor accounts.
Edit - I think I might try 2010 about 10 more times. I really want an F1 car, or even better, the X1.
