I still say that the most annoying advert on British TV is the "It's All Gone, It's All Gone!" Advert. I just can't understand how it makes sense.

  • Why would he have a pen and paper in his bathroom?
  • If he can speak why use a piece of paper?
  • How can he get to the door to slide the paper under without getting off the loo?

It's just a frustrating advert.....

Yeah I hate that advert, and the fake duubed voices in it too lol.

Come to that, I hate all dodgy dubbed European accents on the Loreal or Revlon or 'Maybe she's born with it, maybe its's maybelene' adverts. Kinda chocolate products and Peti felou (however you spell it) get on my nereves too.

I'm currently hating all Sheila's wheels ads, and period towel ads, actually any women's hygene/improve your look adverts !!!!!:irked:

Does anyone hate the PC Richards whistle? My dad had to call them one day and they put him on hold for about an hour with the whistle on loop. That's just wrong:yuck:

Good lord!
There is little that is worse than commercials aimed at children. There is no point to them, all they have to do is look flashy and able to get the child's attention:tdown::grumpy:

That has to be up there with any Chucky Cheeze commercial. No, wait, it totally beats CC.

Go watch the video where they play it backwards. Hilarious!

Figured this would be a good thread to dust off, since I'm sure most people here still hate many commercials (especially a year later).

One that was just on the previous break that makes me want to break something, is that damn Nuvaring commercial with the ladies in the pool singing "Monday, tuesday, wednesday, etc...". :ouch:

+1.

I hate diaper commercials because they always play them during dinner! I don't want to see some 2 year old's rear end while eating. :ouch:

I also hate this commerical with a passion. It's. So. Wrong. :yuck:

I hate all commercials...

Anyway I got a question to you americans. How can you even stand watching tv with commercial brakes every god damn 5 minutes or so!?

In Sweden we have 2-3 brakes on one hour shows, and a few channels without commercials at all.

Yah it does suck, but you get used to it after a while. Plus it helps to use the mute button! :p

That's why Tivo was invented. Watch or do something else, then come back and watch the show bypassing the commercials. There's not a whole lot we can about them unless we have certain channels that limit them.

But we don't have to pay a license fee for antenna reception. Yes, if you're on cable or satellite you get a bill every month, but over-the-air is free, if the 4 basic networks plus Public TV are enough for you.

Haha up in Minnesota we can get about 15 channels including PBS on antenna (with the digital converter box, without it we got 10).

The Geico caveman comercials.

For Geico to use this for an ad to sell insurance , their media director , vice president , and president , all had to be cavemen .

" So easy a caveman can do it " hmmmm

How about :

" So stupid a caveman is the only person to want to do this ad " is more like it.

WTF at the last commercial. What was that chicks name? Bruschetta? I wouldn't want to be standing next to someone named after finger food.

Heres a hint of what I hate....

"Its my money and I need it now!!!""Its my money and I need it now!!!!!!""Its my money and I need it now!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Its my money and I need it now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!":banghead:

I'll contribute once again.

SAAAAVED BYYY ZERRROOOOOOO.

It haunts my dreams. :scared:

I can't stand on Adelaide TV,

1) Designer Direct Commercials (any of them 'cause that woman is GRRRR!)
2) Cunno's adverts
3) Mr or Mrs Bankrupt ads

If you have ever seen any of these you would now what i'm on about.

Mercury Insurance has this new ad campaign where the theme is "having it both ways." I'm not sure exactly what "both ways" entails, but I think it has to do with them selling both car insurance & homeowners insurance or something like that. I really haven't paid that much attention to them to be honest.

But in one of them a guy gets into a cab & tells the driver he wants to go to the airport AND downtown at the same time.

"But they're in opposite directions, you can't go to both places at the same time...." says the cabbie.

DUH.

In the other one, a guy goes into a laundry & says he wants his shirt starched AND unstarched.

"Which part do you want starched & which part do you want unstarched?" asks the lady behind the counter.

"I want it all starched AND unstarched."

The third one I saw a guy/gal in a deli and wanted her sandwich, "Toasted, not toasted."

And so on & so forth.

This ad isn't so much annoying as it is just a lame, stupid concept. I think I'd rather have the guy looking for aliens back again. Those clever Mercurians apparently aren't so clever anymore

Does anyone but me despise those stupid DirecTV commercials that they show basically every other commercial break? Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be on Youtube, but the one right now, which particularly bugs me, goes something like:

"Well? Are you gonna go for it?"
"This is crazy, this is crazy, this is crazy."
"No, what's crazy is not switching to DirecTV." Etc, etc.

Anyone else seen it and been irritated by it? I suppose it's only really annoying when you're subjected to the show-it-every-commercial-break-to-pound-it-into-your-head strategy.

And basically any local car dealership ad is similarly unoriginal, obnoxious, and poorly done.

Yeah it's one of their new "take a clip from a good/popular older movie and have one of the characters suggest you get DirecTV" ads (in your case from National Lampoon's Vacation). They are good the first time you see them, but then they get annoying after multiple viewings.
