Gran Turismo 7 Online Time Trial: Han Solo

This week’s new Online Time Trial comes with a Hollywood pedigree. Gran Turismo 7 pairs the GReddy Fugu Z with the Gardens layout of Dragon Trail, on Sports Hard tires.

The Fugu Z started life as a 1973 Datsun 240Z before actor Sung Kang (Han in the Fast & Furious films) and the team at GReddy turned it into a track car, with a Pandem body kit from TRA Kyoto, Volk TE37V wheels, and a naturally aspirated RB26 under the hood. It was Kazunori Yamauchi’s Best in Show pick at the 2015 Gran Turismo Awards at SEMA, which came with a promise of a future appearance in the series.

That took a while. Polyphony Digital scanned the car in November 2017 and it finally reached GT Sport in Update 1.31 at the end of 2018, where players went on to buy or win more than 1.2 million copies of the car by early 2022. It has been part of GT7 since launch, and Update 1.68 even gave it an LS7 swap option earlier this year (not that it helps here, with settings fixed). This event runs the car in its original form.

Online Racing Event

Would you rather race this week’s combo than chase a ghost on your own?

The SNAIL Racing League hosts casual online races every week on the current Time Trial’s car and track, and anyone is welcome to jump in. Head over to our forums for all the details!

Accessing Online Time Trials

These events live in Sport Mode, which unlocks once you’ve completed Menu Book 9 (“Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade”) in the GT Cafe. Our full unlock guide is here if you need it, and no PlayStation Plus subscription is required.

When an event closes, rewards are based on how close you got to the top time. Gold goes to anyone within 3% (2,000,000cr), silver within 5% (1,000,000cr), and bronze within 10% (250,000cr).

A new event lands every Thursday, each one runs for two weeks, and the oldest drops off as the newest arrives. The next new Online Time Trial comes on October 15.
