The latest update for Gran Turismo 7, v1.27, is now available, bringing with it five new vehicles in the largest single car drop so far.
Coming in at just over 1.3GB on PlayStation 5 and a little under 1.4GB on PlayStation 4, the cars are the major focus of the update which also brings two new Extra Menu Books and three races at some of the game’s more under-served circuits.
Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.27 New Cars
The bumper crop of new vehicles adds four new-to-series machines as well as a fan favorite which was skipped from GT Sport in the middle of a 20-year run in the game. However one of the cars won’t necessarily be available to all players immediately.
- Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm 2020 – 220,000cr (Brand Central)
- Bugatti Chiron 2016 – 3,000,000cr (Brand Central)
- Chevrolet Corvette (C8) Stingray 2020 – 85,000cr (Brand Central)

- Toyota Celica (ST205) GT-Four Rally Car 1985 – 250,000cr (Legends Cars)
That’s the new Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo, the first one-off Ferrari designed exclusively for a video game. Players who entered the Viewer’s Gift Campaign event and answered the fourth and final question correctly will receive the car by way of a gift ticket in their garage. Everyone else will need to wait until December 23, when it will appear in Brand Central at 1,000,000cr.
The three remaining new cars are all highly requested by the GT community and are available to all immediately.
It’s a surprise that Bugatti’s 1,500hp, 261mph Chiron hasn’t made it into the series before now, given that the GT-exclusive Vision Gran Turismo previewed the road car in 2015. However the car that was once the fastest road car in the world finally makes its debut in 1.27. It’s available for 3,000,000cr, and no manufacturer invitation is required.
Coming in slightly cheaper is the new, mid-engined Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. This first production Corvette with a mid-mounted engine comes in at a mere 85,000cr and marks a first appearance in the series for the C8 generation car.
Lastly there’s the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm, the hottest model in the Giulia range. It takes the 500hp Giulia Quadrifoglio performance sedan and adds more power to go with a savage weight reduction and new aerodynamic aids to create one of the fastest four-doors out there — even if the rear doors don’t open to any seats. It’s yours for 220,000cr.
Heading over to Legends Cars is the only way to pick up the final car, the 1995 Toyota Celica (ST205) GT-Four Rally Car. It’s one of the most controversial rally cars ever made, earning the Toyota team a ban from the World Rally Championship in a cheating scandal, but had been ever-present in Gran Turismo since 2001’s Gran Turismo 3. The car is currently priced at 250,000cr, but it will only be available until it rotates out of stock and the dynamic pricing might see that figure change the next time it pops up.
Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.27 New Events & Menu Books
There’s a total of three new race events in this update, adding single-player races to three of the game’s real-world circuits — two of which have only had a single event since the game’s launch.
All three events are for road cars, with hypercars visiting Monza, 600PP European vehicles heading to the Nordschleife, and 700PP American machinery going to Mount Panorama. Payouts are on the modest side though:
- Autodromo Nazionale di Monza – Hypercar Parade – 5 laps, 85,000cr
- Nurburgring Nordschleife – European Clubman Cup 600 – 2 laps, 25,000cr
- Mount Panorama Racing Circuit – American Clubman Cup 700 – 5 laps, 94,000cr
There’s also two new Extra Menu Books with car collection tasks. You’ll need to pick up Straight-Six BMWs — the 3.0CSL, 2003 M3 Coupe, and 2018 M2 Competition — for Book 14, while Bugatti is the focus of Book 15, requiring a big spend on the Veyron, Chiron, and Vision GT. Both books offer a six-star Engine ticket.

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.27 Other Changes
There’s a new selection of 40 Scapes locations based in the Scandinavian nations of Norway. The locations largely center on the famous Atlantic Ocean Road, running up the country’s west coast providing spectacular views of the frigid waters, and the famous fjords of which Slartibartfast was so proud.
Players will also find new engines available for swaps. This feature is still curiously unheralded — only being directly mentioned in official media once — and the swaps are not officially listed anywhere, so head to GTPlanet’s dedicated engine swap thread to see them all including the latest batch.
A sound bug noted by many players has been caught and fixed with this update, along with some minor glitches affecting the BMW M2 Competition and multiplayer. “Various other issues have been addressed” as usual; check out GTPlanet’s undocumented changes thread to see what the community has caught on this front.
