I say that because of the S800 on FULL SUZUKA. I’ve only managed bronze with a tuned one and you can’t use the race car but I’ll have to have another try though. Apart from that, I’m REALLY HAPPY with these! Wet driving on Suzuka was fun in the 2J (although I think it should be banned from these events. The only reason people use it for 550pp up events is because it’s so good even with massive limitations. Once there was a 750pp event that banned the X1, F1 and FGT and that was good and challenging. I got easy gold in the 2J on inters (as I thought they were quicker but I’ve been told wets are quicker). The drift trials were good too. On cape ring in my Gillet vertigo I took ages to get gold but when I did I got EXACTLY 9000. Then I fully tuned the S800 and got a car got at drifting. I got to 423rd on the leaderboard which was my best ever ranking but would have loved to be on the leaderboard that everyone can see (the top 256).

Its all good brunskill kudos to you bro.

I did the wet TT in a 2J with massive limits and golded (no aids 1 abs)10 seconds under the minimum time needed and ten seconds off the top competitor. 2Js is to awesome to be legal unfortunately.

I’ve never complained about complainers before, but this bunch of complaints has prompted a response.

If you don’t like this time trial don’t do it. Another one will be up in a couple weeks. Don’t remember ever having one with old Honda S’s before so it’s not some recycled event-how nice. A rain TT, correct me if I’m wrong but don’t remember one of these before. Don’t like these, well join WRS and complain to them about what their weekly event is. Or join in and try to improve your skills within a helpful and competitive group.

No, the seasonals and any Aspec aren’t really “racing”. They’re TT’s with moving chicanes-that’s it. And yes, no one likes the AI so get over it and try not to hit them and run clean laps. Basically PD is updating the boring Aspec career with seasonals that are more difficult. Too bored with that, then do some research on how to set up your own competitive race in Arcade. Sure it takes some effort, oh well. I’ve downloaded some custom tracks just to get some “new” tracks for Arcade enduros.

Online racing is where the actual door to door racing takes place. There’s all kinds of events listed in the Online Competitions section. Plenty of spaces available but you might need to make some kind of commitment. That might be too difficult for some. WRS for example has a weekly race. There’s groups that have been going strong since GT5 was introduced and plenty of new start ups that want new racers.

GT5 has PLENTY or areas to improve upon and I’m no GT fanboy but this is the only race game I have right now. I’ve come to see that GT5 demands a self starter attitude if you’re bored or disatisfied with content. You gotta make your own fun and accept that PD isn’t going to spoon feed you exactly what you want.

    1. MuoNiuLa

“I’ve come to see that GT5 demands a self starter attitude if you’re bored or disatisfied with content. You gotta make your own fun and accept that PD isn’t going to spoon feed you exactly what you want.”

Why we should have to settle with that? Is it not the game designers job to make a formula in their games that will keep players busy and want to come back for more so people will enjoy their games? Because that’s exactly how I feel the previous GTs were. They had fun and great career modes that made me want to keep going. PD is not inexperienced in this department. They know how to make a great single player experience. So why should I have to settle for something that isn’t their best? That just makes them look lazy or that they don’t care.

And please do not mention online racing. That is not a solution for everyone and online racing is not what made GT a fun racing game in the past.

    2. ncrthree

Well, hopefully GT6 will have the fun factor in career mode you say the old games had. Unless we hear otherwise PD isn’t going to completely revamp ASpec or make an Event Generator for GT5 or turn the clock back and bring back all the old tracks and events. I’ve had to come up with ways to enjoy the current state of GT and only mentioned some to be helpful.

    3. another_jakhole

Why should we have to settle for that? That’s all we can do for the time being. Why not show some initiative instead of waiting to comment on more disappointments?

    4. Pit Crew

I asked for Rain TTs myself, so I have no problem with that, and stay pretty occupied hosting Daytona SSW break in rooms online with my Untouchables crew.

TTing created courses, Developing a no miles or 0/0/0 car list, Weekend league events Weekly league drift events, plus gotta work IRL, so I try to stay occupied, however the ASpec A.I. needs a upgrade, and players have legitimate reason to want PD to use more imagination.

When was the last time we had any event at Nuringburg/GP course? hows about a Rally series of TTs at eiger or something to that effect. Just saying…

    5. Pit Crew

@Muoniula your right about online racing not being for everyone, and not a total solution. Im fortunate to have met some good bros in my 2 yrs of GT5 and probably wouldn’t race in lobbies much if not for that fact.

  3. Racingworld68

This must be one of the few games where almost 2 years afther the release, extra content gets added. I do not understand those people moaning here. What do you expect ?? What you guys want is a new game for the same money….
Get real, this is business !! I personally think PD is doing a great job, and I could still play days without any update or new features. If you think there is no excitement in this game anymore : register to WRS and a whole new world will open….

    1. MuoNiuLa

We expect a bit more effort to be put in to make the game a little more fun. Looking at previous GTs and a few things PD have done with GT5 in the past (expert events, etc.) they are capable of making something really good and fun. Heck, I would seriously pay money for a huge A-spec expansion and have a carrer mode similar to GT3/GT4. It doesn’t require a GT6 to make something like that.

And sorry, even WRS can’t save this boring game for me. I want to RACE not do time trials.

    2. TomBrady

@Muo Once again, all you do is complain.

It’s been months since I’ve joined GTP, MONTHS, and I’ve seen you make plenty of comments, and not one of them were positive. NOT ONE.

We get it, you hate GT5. What I don’t get is why you spend so much time complaining about something you hate. Like if it’s so underwhelming, move on. I can’t imagine why someone would be so negative ALL THE TIME.

I won’t even touch upon how ridiculous your opinions are and how obviously biased/delusional you are, but seriously, get a life dude. Lighten up. Enjoy life while you’re still livin it

  4. Amac500

I personally am fine with the 2J because I own it and did a full restoration on it. However, I get that it can bug people. But it doesn’t matter if it’s banned, nothing changes. If no 2J people will use the Suzuki GSX Concept and then people will complain that that car is too good and should be banned. After that everybody will use Lotus Elise 111R RM’s, and people will want it banned. Bottom line is there will always be a dominant car and people will always be mad that there isn’t diversity, or they don’t have or like the car, and will want it banned. So yeah, nothing changes if they ban the 2J.

  5. TurboProp

I’m glad PD put so much into this awesome event and I am very grateful for any scrap that they throw us! You are the MAN Kaz!!!

  6. Youngun

‘Turned on PS3, checked OCD, have all, checked Seasonal, went back to bed’ why can’t they do a seasonal Tournament/ Series instead of single races?? Time trails get boring if there are limited tracks to do it on.

  7. Jaycue58

I agree with a lot of your comments especially the 2J………… but……. it is sweet to drive, i’m a bit miffed however, that you cant use the S800 RSC Race car for the Honda trial but then this is Japanese logic !

  8. TheEzekiel

ok..events are getting worse and worse thank you PD but you should fire people who are responsible for this piece of garbage

    1. MadmuppGT

PD should do more time trials that allow zero modding, no tweekings this or that, all the same car and let the drivers do the talking, not the cars… and yes that 2J is a kind of super car…

    1. MuoNiuLa

Yeah, “real fans”, whatever that means, are happy with whatever they get, even if it’s obvious little effort is being put into it.

    2. another_jakhole

“Lots of respect for Polyphony for bringing out weekly events despite the endless moaning”

Yuuuup. The moaners don’t see the halt of updates as PD moving on to GT6. They see it as PD giving up on GT5. The pessimist’s attitude IS too annoying on GTP.

    3. another_jakhole

“even if it’s obvious little effort is being put into it.”

Make a thread about what they should be like. I haven’t seen anyone do this, but I keep on seeing the same, “That’s not what I WANT.” Do something about it.

    4. MuoNiuLa

@another_jakhole: You should look into the seasonal event forum, because there are a number of threads voicing suggestions and issues people have with the seasonals. I’m not going to bother making a thread because I doubt PD is going to see it. Not worth the effort. I said what I said because looking at the past, PD is capable of doing better and I find it a little surprising people will settle for anything.

Here’s one suggestion: how hard would it be for them to change things up a bit? Have more events where everyone must use the same stock car. They have done this before with SLS AMG event at TGTT. And alternate it every time or so with events like this that allow tuning. A little variety goes a long way.

And don’t get me started with the A-spec events.

    1. FormulaKimball

More specifically looking back at Adenau bridge (Breidscheid) from Ex-Muhle, very scenic spot :) All these Nurburgring pics and no actual Nurburgring in this event though, bummer man.

  9. paracefan2002

We should be happy not only with what we have, but at least PD is trying. Enough with the constant bitching and moaning! It’s getting old!!!!

    1. Pit Crew

If peeps wanna vent, let them. just ignore it.Opinions are a “dime a dozen”, and in a website forum members are gonna pay that fee.

    2. MuoNiuLa

These seasonals are what’s getting old.

And PD trying? LOL They can do a lot better than this if they wanted to.

  10. smuckguy

I wish they would put more normal races in seasonal events and stop with these drifting events, they’re horrible. The time trial events are fun, but I just like jumping in a car and doing a quick series of five lap races most of the time.

  11. numbnuts70

@thenextbob-I’ve got a 2J(and consistently in the top 100 with it)-its just that PD can’t be bothered to take the time to ensure that this car doesn’t dominate all the time.
    It’s getting boring now.

    1. BMfan

      “It’s getting boring now”

Then don’t use the car and stop blaming PD because you use the car and it’s getting boring.

    2. another_jakhole

BMfan is kinda right. If you’re that into the Time Trials that you need it to be as “strict” as GT Academy, then I think you’re, meaning anyone who thinks that way, taking it too far. I saw the Drift Trial at Madrid had the Top 10 dominated by a Subaru 360. When things like that or the 2J happen, you can’t punish the people that JUST want the top times for “CHEATING” which is my opinion what they’re doing, but obviously, it really isn’t. A lot of the top times have people who are using assists and even DS3’s. The way the seasonals are set up isn’t serious. If it was weekly competitions with an actual tournament that we enter, then that’s when we should ask for more realistic settings.

Still, I do agree that they should prevent those types of cars from being used SOMETIMES.

  12. Dragonthing

Once again PD screw us over with awful car choices :/ racing cars? Really? I’m not wrecking a race car and spending eight hours trying to make one drift…

    1. Thenextbob

Why Hate 2J?Is just SWEET to drive :D
If you dont have one,its not my problem, but when you got this car…. your life gets two times easier

    2. MeanElf

They might step in, but it’s more down to the idiots who use them to stop doing so really. No one takes them seriously as true contenders for the top places.

    3. Progress823

PD can step in to stop this “use the 2J for every time trial” bulls**t; just limit the amount on the power limiter reduction to 90%.

    4. Pit Crew

LOL It was banned in real world racing for a reason PD, hint hint.

TheNextBob Personally, I have 2 plus the 23 ticket it comes on.

  13. HuskyGT

Not a bad pic. It’s probably my favorite spot in the Nururgring to take pics at. I have a couple of almost identical pics but without the fancy filter.

  14. SonicConqueror

In the previous drift trial, the TVR Speed 12 (usually the best car to use in the drift trials), was strangely defeated by the very slow Subaru 360. To me, drifting in a Subaru 360 is being mad & crazy, let alone a high amount of points for the car.

    1. liampage123

YA I loaded a ghost replay of the 1st ranked driver, I was blown away of how cheap he did the event. So retarded

    2. SonicConqueror

COLOSAL TOSSLE, my comment has nothing to do with earning money. It’s about the Subaru 360’s scoring in drift trials.

  15. McZachenF1138

When you actually go into the Time Trial, it says “Toyota sportscar” even though everywhere else it says Honda and that is indeed a Honda event. >.<

    1. McZachenF1138

Oh yeah, I know it’s a simple mistake and nothing to be concerned about.
It just surprised be that PD let something like that slip.

  16. Evil X

I had a feeling a 550PP Suzuka race was on the horizon, given there have been a few in the last couple of OCD’s. Should be fun bashing around in old Honda’s too.
