Over the past week, Gran Turismo 6 has taken over the small town of Ronda, Spain, in what was arguably one of the largest launch events in the history of the video game industry.
Gran Turismo 6 players will be the first to sample the new series BMW M4 before it releases to car buyers in the Summer of 2014. In an exclusive deal with the famous German marque, GT6 will deliver this car into players’ garages as free DLC coming soon after GT6’s launch. The car was spotted around Ronda, Spain, during the Gran Turismo 6 Launch party on day one and then saw track time at Ascari Race Resort circuit in the following day of events.
Amongst all the announcements at the GT6 launch event in Ronda, Spain, one of the most unexpected surprises came from the city of Ronda itself, as the mayor announced a street would be named in honor of Gran Turismo series creator Kazunori Yamauchi.
Kazunori Yamauchi took the stage for a presentation on Gran Turismo 6 during the first day of events for GT6’s two-day launch party in Ronda, Spain. The presentation began predictably, reviewing lots of content we have previously known, but as time went on, more and more new information began to break, as covered live on our Twitter feed.
GTPlanet is on location in Ronda to provide full coverage of all the upcoming announcements, finally revealing Polyphony Digital’s plans for the future of GT6 and the Gran Turismo series.
Sony Europe has confirmed the location and date of the Gran Turismo 6 launch party event, to be held in Ronda, Spain and the nearby Ascari Race Resort on December 2-3, 2013, a few days before the international GT6 release date of December 6.
Local news reports from Andalusia, Spain, have confirmed the Ascari Race Resort circuit will be in Gran Turismo 6 and will host the game’s international launch party.
