i feel the same. if they love damage so much, there are many other games out there. this is simulation driving, not twisted metal!

  2. rsuguita

and where are the flames getting out of the exhaust after gears down? THIS is something I wanted to see and actually makes things much more cooler… But whamming a vehicle out??? gosh… I’m sure there’s NO racing accident that will cause some sort of damage in the same level of these guys spanking the car in the walls, so why do it?!?!?

  3. rsuguita

God damn!!! I just don’t understand why is EVERYBODY that has a chance on demo to drive keeps driving like a damn retard spanking the car just to see the damage… It’s so irritating, are you guys actually going to drive this way through the hole game? I hope not ’cause it doesn’t make any sense… Damn, if you wanna test damage, ok, go ahead but ALL THE VIDEOS in the internet are about that god damn bullsh*t of accelerating to the max and then spanking into the wall… Then guess what/!?!!? Turn the rearview camera to see the splendid job the guy did… Damn, again, wants to test the damage, FINE! But do it in an actual race scenario, ’cause I’m sure that there is absolutelly NO PROFESSIONAL driver that races thinking “WHOA, I’M GOING TO BANG THE HELL OUT MINE FRONT RIVAL!!”!! If you’re going to buy GT5 to do this, go ahead and spend your money, but hell, DON’T NEED TO SHOW THIS THE ENTIRE VIDEOSS!!!!!

  4. Lyoto Machida

Nice cockpit view, but i prefer Forza motorsport cockpit view and engine… Gt5 Looks a little bit arcade

    1. No_Me_Matez

yeah, right. you are an obvious 360/Forza troll. Forza is crap compared to this. Gran Turismo is many levels above it

  5. Koolad

It seems that the name of the circuit has changed (for good); “Curso del Sol” sounded so odd in spanish, I think that PD got some feedback… now it just appears as “Circuito de Madrid”.

  6. Geo_212

How does the engine sound??? Comparable to the real car? I can’t hear anything over all of that noise… :(

    1. recca

not at all..the speed of this thing isn’t hard to believe when you consider the fact that it ran the ring in 6.40 something…the 599xx did it in 6.50something and that’s probably a bit slower than an FXX. Have you seen videos of the FXX on track? It’s incredibly fast, so it’s no surprise that the R seems this fast. Can’t wait to test this baby out. I hope Kaz got all the XX cars as well.

    1. Bernd

You mean the first Vector from 1982 or so ? That really was like a F-16 on the road. Never liked later models that much

    1. Geo_212

FM3 had eight cars on-track, so what? It was still a great game. Though, of course, I’ll bet that GT5 will wipe it off the charts.

  7. HKS racer

i’m tired by yt movies where anyone is traying to smash the car, 99% the damage system in these demos is not completely activated, so drive properly.. this movie is absolutely rubbish

    1. HugoStiglitz_420

the Classic Game Room guy will complain about there not being an El Camino though. best reviewer on youtube but I guarantee that even he (a huge GT nut like us) will find it absolutely rediculous that we waited 5 years for 80% of the cars unfinished cars. I could care less about the people who don’t use the view because even those strange people have to admit, it’s not good for the games or the series reputation.

  8. Shokz

@Sidsid – I’m surprised you don’t understand this… Both modes are part of the career, they’re not separate games.

    1. jaketovey

not true actually, they are two modes which reach the same ending, all races the same, you can do one or the other

  9. sidsid

If this 2 versions of gt5 is true, that is a kick in the face for all of is. Won’t be buying two games when one would suffice.

  10. Damo

Now for a question that’s not really very important, but I’ll ask it anyway… are there going to be actual tuning companies present in the game, or will all tuning be performed by “GT Auto”, and will manufacturers have their own tuning parts as we have seen in all previous GTs?

    1. TRC IVORBIGUN

I realised this was on purpose. However nearly all GT5 videos are either someone deliberately crashing or doesn’t know how to race.

    1. Timvasvi

Have you lot gone onto the other pages. A lot more shown on there, won’t post it all here, just take a look for yourselves.

There are 6 pages worth of news, the “Tuning shop” description mentions Chasis so maybe a return for the racing mods of old?

    2. JustCause

BSpec is for the 24 hour races. Or are you willing to stay at your console for 24 hours to finish a race?

    3. Bernd

@JustCause – That’s how I did it. Well, not exactly, my first 24h-race lasted about 38 or so. 12hrs racing, 6hrs sleeping, 6hrs racing, 2hrs Pause – and another 6hrs racing. A bit exhausting, but I wanted it that way

  11. seals1

Nice only i wish i could hear that brilliant engine. ‘That is not a road car, it has flames coming out of it!’ Jeremy Clarkson commenting on the Pagani Zonda R.

  12. TRC IVORBIGUN

Have to say im getting sick and tired of watching videos of people bashing the cars into the walls. Why can’t we see a nice clean, fast lap!

  13. GR1up

Yamauchi does a quick demo but there’s hardly time to take it in because then he’s on to the Course Maker. “This isn’t something you would use to make an exact recreation of a road,” says Yamauchi, scotching visions of a proper 3D track creator. “But you can make tracks that suit parameters you specify.” He switches to the game and starts by picking a theme – sunset in Toscana, although there appear to be lots of others – before playing with some slider bars and dropdowns to change the number of sectors, course type (one-way or loop), weather and time of day. Tracks can be up to 10km long. He then jumps into the game via the Test Drive button and within seconds he’s zooming down highways through parched fields and villages. He exits back to the Course Maker screen and tunes a couple of sectors, changing the frequency of curves, course width, sharpness of corners, degree of topography tracing and bank angles. When he hits Test Drive again he’s facing a totally different course of rising straights and increasin

“Cockpit Views” that totally recreate the interior and instruments of a car, have been prepared for over 200 cars.

    1. jaketovey

thats good news! notice the wording- Totally recreate the interior, in other words the others dont totally recreate the cockpit have been done for the rest.

i could be wrong but im pretty confident

    1. SKID

“The selection of over 1000 cars and 20 tracks contained in Gran Turismo 5, has a purpose backed by history and culture”

      only 20 tracks :((

    2. danielwhite74

In the other article, it confirms there is 70 tracks. There’s a breakdown in communication somehwere along the line here. :/

    3. Super_Colossal

@ danielwhite74 There are supposed to be 20 tracks with different variations of them, totalling 70. Like the Nurburgring has 3 variations.

  15. seals1

This is pretty nice. Just wish you could hear that awesome engine. ‘That’s not a road car, it has flames coming out the back out of!’ Jeremy Clarkson

    1. JustCause

Its gone 9am GMT after day light savings. The embargo should be lifted by now. Its actually 10:09AM GMT now.

    1. ICEMAN_ZIDANE

      1. AWESOME car
for me it’s the fastest car on the world ( Nordschleife record)
      2.this guy is a little bit xxcensoredxx…
If you have closed the damage you will not get damage on the car
If you have set damage on 1 you will get low/less damage
If you have set damage on 2 you will get medium damage
If you have set damage on 3 you will get max/real damage
I think this guy didn’t knew that , lol

    2. witham

@ICEMAN_ZIDANE were have you heard of different levels of damage settting in the demo, as I haven’t heard anything about different settings.

    3. TokyoDrift

Or maybe the damage just isn’t “all that”, because nothing I have seen so far approaches anywhere near 2 or 3 on your imaginary scale.

    4. BoBo

      1. Zonda r will give Enzo a tough time but is not the fastest car.
2.Talking about damage i dont think anyone new about different levels
      3. Do you understand the meaning of a demo?

    5. Ollie

      @ Bobo

Enzo?? The newest Farraris are faster than the Enzo. Technology’s moved on and it’s nowhere near being the fastest car anymore. A Zonda R would have no trouble losing it – it’s a track only car like the Enzo FXX. THat would be a better comparison.

Would still put my money on the Zonda :D
