    The engine sounds are edited in. When that ferrari is accelerating on the Top Gear test track you can hear a turbo whistle. No Ferrari I know of is turbo-ed.

    maybe Sebastian Vettel will be doing like little presentations/details about each car (like in TT if anyone knows) can reach 400km/h in a straight maybe he was refferring to bugatti vayron? so each car is going to have like a little type and mr vettel will speak about every car… would be cool

      Vettel says “easily reach around 400kph on the straight”

      As far as i’m concerned no F1 car can reach 400kph, and the Veyron tops out at just over 400kph, so to me that doesn’t count as “easily” reaching around 400kph.

      Considering it’s Vettel doing the voice over, and Kaz is sitting down with Newey, my money is on them working together on the F1 car Newey would create if he wasn’t limited by the current regulations.

      If true… I can’t wait to see it.

    If Adrian Newey only had a small amount of input into this game, then it just won’t fail to deliver. The RB6 is a dead cert.
    They wouldn’t be able to call it the F1 world championship series, but id love to see the Formula GT series return with full f1 race distance/rules (just imagine pit stops). After that vid… WOW anything is poss.Better start saving those pennies for a 3D tv upgrade.

    I’n truly amazed!
    Especially from 1.00 minute onwards… Top Gear test track looks very realistic and filmed in the same dramatic (positively ment) was as Top Gear!!

      NO song title, but the consensus seems to imply that the artist is Jonathan Underdown, who has provided numerous tracks for previous titles in the GT series.

    At around 1:16 – 1:18, they are showing what looks to be a Tesla, but clearly it is making engine noises…perhaps having some fun with post-production? or an epic fail on PDs part?

      Since they seem to be toting customization, it’s possible that it had an engine swap of some sort.

    Looks like for the top gear test track portion that the game’s replay will show it in a top gear style of lighting, over the top vignetting, and editing. Love it.

    Early on in the video at 28 seconds there is a shot of what appears to me to be almost undoubtedly Lucerne, Switzerland with the wooden bridge and tower crossing the main river through the city…

    Whether that means there is a track there or just a photo location time will tell…

    Any thoughts?

    WOW! Just WOW!
    The Stig!! Double Wow!
    The scene with the Stig driving the Lamorghini Murcielago down the top gear test track toward the camera (us) looked real. I thought at first they had blended some real footage in but I checked over and over and think it is in-game. They got the British Top Gear TV look about perfect. The lighting was just like in the Top Gear TV shows. The scene with the Mitsubishi Lancer and Subaru looked just like it would on the TG TV show. AMAZING! Night racing…. oooooh… excitement overload…feeling light headed now…. :-)))))))

    Amazing, but why does the Tesla Roadster have an engine noise? i saw TopGear test that car and you can only hear the tyre roar because it’s electric… anyway who cares AWESOME TRAILER.

      You hear engine noise with the Tesla because ALL of those sounds you here in the trailer and pre-recorded, real-life sounds just like every other trailer. I hope the vacuum-cleaner sound is worked over in the final version, but don’t let this fool you into thinking those were the real sounds

    You guys are aware that this is only a pre-rendered animation, right? This is NOT ingame graphic! As much as i love GT, i hate these videos, they look bloody awesome, and when you then have a look at the actual game, well, it still looks great, but not a quarter as good as these videos, especially shadow and dust look awful :(

    Nonetheless i can’t wait to get my hands on it ’cause it’s still the greatest racing simulation ever! :D

      If this is prerendered, then it is prerendered using the game engine (think Uncharted 2), and then YES it will look as good as it looks there – if it was prerendered, it would look way more awesome (even though it’s hard to top), and little details would be finer.

    Some say he knows two facts about ducks and that both of them are wrong. All we know is that he is in this game racing a lambo.

    Best thing ever totally worth the wait. Imagine what gt6 will look like. Seb vettel doing track guides and adrian newey 2010 f1 cars anyone?

      Do you expect GT6 to be a PS3 game ? Not so sure about that. If GT6 takes 3 years till release, could very well be we have the PS4 by that time

      Judging by how deep into the PS3’s lifecycle this is coming out, I highly doubt GT6 will be on the PS3.

    Speeding on a city street lined with trees with Christmas lights through the night, kicking up dust on a Italian country side, blasting down a runway in my dream car (@ :59-1:00), Top Gear test track AND the Stig, kicking up dirt again under a STARY night … OOOH this is looking GOOD.

    I’m going to the garage right now firing up my Delorean, and getting some cob webs off my flex compasitor. Any body want a copy speak now.

    OMG!!! top gear test track, evo flipping over ( fender damage looked freakin awesome), night racing and lights coming on, wind hitting the fields and the grass moving in the first rally shot, clouds and clouds of dust in the rally shots, THE STIG!!!i’m even excited about NASCAR.

    Camaro, Maserati, Tesla, Topgear, GT-R JGTC, WRC, NASCAR,

      He’s part of a tv-show (you know what a tv is, eh?) called “Top-Gear”. Oh and by the way: it’s the most popular tv-show in the world with over 350 million viewers worldwide.

      Ah and the fact that you call yourself r1racer and visit sites like gtplanet and never heard of topgear or the stig is…well let’s say…funny :)

      First of all: it was sarcasm. I have to admit…it wasn’t really funny, but I couldn’t think of anything else.
      Secondly: I don’t check this website every 20 minutes, but maybe twice a day. So yes, I was reading through the comments (and yes, I know that they were a little out to date) and thought that your first statement was very funny. So I decided to say something to you, because…I don’t know. Maybe for fun?
      Ah and it should be said, that I am from Germany. So there is a little bit of time delay.
      Oh and yes it took me long to write this response, because (as you may have noticed by now) english is not my native language. So i have to think about what I’m writing, ok?

      So after all this is cleared up:

    The Fact that he was talking to Adrian Newey is VERY promising, after all… He doesn’t need the Formula 1 or FIA license to put F1 cars in the game, he would just need
    Red Bull and Renault for the Red Bull F1 car.
    McLaren and Mercedes for the McLaren, Renault for the Renault, and so on. Also, if you look closely at the EVO that is flipping, you can see the left side is smashed in.
    If you want to pre-order the collectors edition, GameStop should have it available tomorrow. I called them and they also said that they will most likely call everyone who pre-oredered the basic version.

    P.S. Best game ever. Highest selling game ever… Shove it up your ass forza and Call of Duty.

      Fairly sure it’s an autoclave, the specialized ovens often used in curing carbon fiber, including F1 bodies.

    i’m personally more interested in the last part of the video… Vettle , Newey and Red Bull Tech Centre were featured in last part of the video… does this indiciated that we get to drive the RBR F1 car in the game? :D

      Hm I’m not really convinced…I also think that the RBR F1 car will appear in GT5. Your interpretation is…well…not that obvious. Also because the last thing you see is the carbon-fibre-high-pressure-baking-oven-thing-machine. Not a wind tunnel. Customization would definitely be more then amazing, but honestly…I don’t think PD would implement customization on that level of detail. It’s more likely that you are able to change the color of the car/interior and fit it with a new exhaust system, brakes, suspension and stuff…just like in GT. and GT2. aaannd GT3. Oh yes! and GT4 as well. (sadly not in the PSP-version)

    Even the shot at the start with the building shows a cloudy sky turning into a clear night sky with stars – subtle hint of dynamic weather me thinks :)

      I sure hope there’s dynamic weather, especially for the rally stages; Rallisport Challenge 2 on the original Xbox had fantastic “static” weather, so making it dynamic definitely seems like the kind of “next-gen” feature that racing games should be getting.

    Awesome trailer, but I have a hard time believing the images and the engine sounds are untreated, straight from the game engine.
    The Top Gear track section looked and sounded so realistic. If this really is from the game without any compositing done to it they have outdone themselves.

    Thats craziness !!! One of the best trailers I have ever seen in my life !!! GT5 will be the best driving video game ever released !!! this game is awesome ! revolutionary beyond belief…thats what ken kutaragi designed the ps3 to do…this is more than a game…

    It’s hard to believe that xbox360 actually have better graphic-card (or something) when you see the graphics of GT5 on the PS3. This game is stunningly beautiful. I just hope the driving physics will be on equal with the graphics, but I will buy this game no matter what, hehe (!!!) :D

      It’s difficult to say which console’s GPU is better, because they effectively function in different manners. The 360’s GPU sacrifices raw power for a high level of post-processing capability, including things like lighting, depth-of-field, bloom, etc. The PS3’s GPU, on the other hand, is more powerful at handling raw geomtery; this results in average higher poly counts, but sacrifices post-processing capability.

    Night cycle was cool. Pop-up headlights and lights turning on with two different cars!?!?!

    But calm down ladies. That mitsubishi EVO did not ‘flip’ and customisation/wheels/livery is no where near confirmed.

    Why is so much time spent at the end with – what looks like – a cylindrical Carbon Fibre baking oven! Got me!

    Never was i expecting to see a day/night cycle. I wonder how is the customization is going to be like. That would be cool to customize your seats, steering wheel, wheels etc. It’s really cool how i seen the corvette headlights go up on the game. Did anybody notice that?

      I actually thought there’d be more damage/deformation to the car if it crashed like that. Honestly, I wasn’t too impressed with the visuals, it looks almost identical to Prologue IMHO.

      It was interesting that they purposely avoided camera angles that would show the bottom of the cars, except for 00:46, but you don’t really see anything cuz it’s so dark.

      I did like the day/night transition though, hopefully the physics are good too!! Can’t wait!!

      Perhaps it was just the cinematography of the trailer, but the damage to the car seemed to be very lacking, considering the speed at which it appeared to plow into the wall. I’m very happy to see that Polyphony has added damage at all, but it looks like they still have a little ways to go with it (especially when you consider how beat-up rally cars get).

      yes, it’s a Maserati Granturismo at 1:10, but it’s a scene of top gear program o it’s a scene of GT5??? because Lamborghini Murcielago and Lotus Evora apear in Dunsfold and i’m sure that are scenes from top gear(well, i’m not sure with lotus, it’s hard to see the diferences :P)
      I hope and wish they will are scenes from GT5.

      Yeah if you watch the end of the new GT5 trailer when it has the real that says “It does” it will show

      It does online racing
      It does damage
      It does realism
      It does customization
      It does everything

      you need to slow the video down frame by frame to see it.

      Honestly: The TopGear track was something I wanted to have since I heard that GT5 will be coming. Then I read that PD was in Dunsfold and that made my day. Still I was hoping that you can have fun on the runway with a mate. And now this. It’s like birthday and christmas all together…

      I dont think on a ps3 either in terms of realism. forza looks good but it doesnt look real, so no matter how high the polygon counts ect how detailed doesnt mean its going to look real, their depiction of real life is off. i know theres a such thing as art direction, but there isnt much room for that when these are sims. omg i cant wait for this game. and te night and day is indeed dynamic. that prolly means they have presets for the time of day without it being dynamic too. omg i cant wait anymore.

      Forza 3 cannot compete because kaz has taken time to perfect each game. Forza just adds a crap cockpit view adds 2 more cars and sells it

      I guess a level of “fanboyism” should be expected, since this is a GT site, but the level of ignorance in your comment and its replies is staggering. Turn 10 uses a different development strategy than Polyphony, resulting in more frequent releases of constantly-evolving games; on the other hand, Polyphony’s strategy is to take a very long time to make a game with a significant level of progression from the previous iteration. Also, while GT5 appears that it’s going to be a better game than Forza 3, it’s asinine to think that Turn 10 will not be able to match or exceed this level in Forza 4. After all, just like any other industry, the video game industry is driven by competition; do you think that GT5 would be nearly as good if Polyphony didn’t have to compete with the Forza series?

      Ah, I almost forgot; as a disclaimer, I own both a PS3 and 360, own Forza 3, and plan to get GT5 when it is released. I’d hate for my comment to be taken as significantly biased, after all.

    1:36-1:38, that looks like a sunset. Day night cycle? I think so. This looks unbelievable. When the STI and the Evo came around that corner I thought they had slipped in some real life footage.

    The Top Gear Test Track looks so… Real. And there was a clear time lapse from day to night there in the rally section, it wasn’t a clear cut day/night – is there anything to that at all or just something specially done for the trailer?

    And at the end, the stuff with Vettel, I believe he’s one of the license-test voices, awesome, I JUST CAN’T WAIT AHHHHHHHHH

      I was thinking maybe some advanced aero/wind tunneling, cause Adrian Newey was featured too? At the very least i assume we’ll be getting proper aero body kits.
      Who knows though, at least we’ve got a date :D
