    anyone find the rally in gt4 like driving on ice,im no novel at this series but thats what
    i remember im sure they’ve made the diciplines in 5 very very realistic thou.come on people we dont mind waiting,as if anyone wont get it cause developers were too busy perfecting the thing we love most! use this time to save up for the G25 race set linked beside all gt5 pop ups.

    I think they should add back the Neon srt-4…That car was good in GT4. Plus i hope they have a drag strip. Along with having the cars that u can put into Nuetral..or add an clutch system. SO it can be used with the ps3 controller. :D

    well i hope it dont contain pointless cars that wont be used on the career mode! such as Auto Union Streamline Type C which could not be used on the career, also Nike 2022 which also was good for the GT4 game but should not be included in the GT5

    I think they need to work on there landscape and field graphics. look at the 27th screenshot counting from left to right. the trees look kinda fake, and the mountains look undone. along with the clouds, they dont realistic. Now forza isnt a better game but, there landscape is beautiful. there roads look driven on! there trees and grass look good, and there clouds and mountains looks great!

    Good post Paskowitz, as you said maybe there will be cutscenes before major events.
    Why don’t we all stop and imagine the Nurburgring 24Hr race with Damage and Day/Night Cycle!!:D:tup:
    I am more than impressed with the details this trailer reveals, it is all great news.
    I look forward too seing how many layers of polish PD add to GT5 before they release it!

    any car list confirmed yet? or track list for that matter. judging by reading, there is the spa francorchamps, indianapolis motor speedway! oh yeah…will the indianapolis motor speedway have the road course that the f1 championship used to use?..that would be awesome tearing a F2007 Ferrari around

    this is seriously awesome!! i think ill be getting a ps3 just as soon as its released! and what are the forza fans doing on here-its a crap series-for example…the car designs are poor…gran turismo beats that in that sense…so forza t***ts get off this page because GT5 is going to woop its a*s big time. love the WRC cars in it especially the Ford Focus WRC. lets hope its released soon…very exciting times atm lol

    Kazunori Yamauchi has told Eurogamer that GT5 is “at a point we can release it any time we want”.
    “I want to release it as fast as I can,” the developer said, talking at E3 this week, “but GT5 for us, when you talk about its status, it’s at a point we can release it any time we want, but we can always keep working on it. It’s very important for us to make sure everything is done perfectly and everything is done in detail.”

    @ AdrianRems: There was also a kind of a parkingplace in GT4. It was used for driving license tests. And I hope they’ve now added a kind of an airport look-a-like testtrack. I don’t know if it’s the one from TopGear. And not all the tracks are meant for time-trials and races. It would be great to have a test track in GT5, wouldn’t it?

    I think the trailer looks great. I missed the TG test track when I watched it so damn good eye on whoever pointed it out in the comments. I mean, I certainly don’t know of any other airfields that would be in the GT games either.

    As for NASCAR, I’m not much of a fan, but burnin’ rubber and fast cars is what this game is all about ain’t it? I think a lot of folks who are getting hot and bothered by the inclusion of NASCAR should look at this another way: you’ll have more tracks to drive the other cars around on. I mean, ovals can be fun at 200+ MPH no matter what car you’re driving.

    A release date would be nice but you can’t rush good work so I’ll just be patient.

    I also totally agree with Paskowitz! ;D I hope every thing is true. And I do also think this isn’t just a cinematic trailer. Like you said, I hope it isn’t just start a race and go anymore. I hope when you start an endurance event you can qualify first. And what about the driving licenses? It is the first GT I am playing with a racing wheel. :D

    Why are you all talking about a releasedate!?! :O If you cannot wait, then just buy a Xbox 360 and buy Forza 3 when it comes out. After watching this trailer and the very high detailed screenshots, I am totally amazed by this game!!! Just give them the time to develop a great damagemodel for all cars, let them make more circuits and more and more. I didn’t expect WRC in GT5!! In GT4, it was a big mess without a damagemodel, but this is going to be freaking awesome. And that screenshot with the Audi Le Mans car, isn’t that a kind of a testtrack like in TopGear? And watch the car which is driving behind the SLR-MClaren!! Wooow! I don’t want to wait, but I do want to give them all the time to produce the BEST GAME EVER!!!!! ;)

    It looks like drag racing will be in (787b v R8), but as some have mentioned, I’m not getting too hyped about car noises. Don’t expect much in that regard.

    Chill out jerry. The more motorsports in one racing game, the better. BTW. I hope the Test Course comes back. I want to get that 599 GTB, Z06, F430, GTR, and Enzo on a top speed run to see how good in-car view GT5 has to offer. I’m excited about GT5 + Super GT, WRC, and Le man!

    WHAT A WASTE OF GAMING DEVELOPMENT. How fu*king long did PD spend on this hillbilly nascar CRAP. I would rather have a Rotax(go-kart) series than “crapcar” We have ALL almost fallen to sleep racing at Daytona on GT5P…admit it. Circles are BORING !!!
    A loud noise jarred me awake…my eyes opened, and for a second ..I didn’t know where I was… my TV came into view. My car was up against a fence in the infield of Daytona. Oh..then I realized…I fell asleep playing GT5P. “Shit”, I thought, “I better turn this off and go to bed”. Well let me tell you…THAT has never happened to me at Suzuka ! ! !
    I don’t care WHAT you are driving or riding…going around in circles sucks

    i dont like Nascar..PD shuld concentrate on european races like BTCC,..PD dont too focus on US market too much..i hated drive on ugly cars with fat driver in a circle race track eating hamburgers..

    In all honesty I would rather have had a F1 Series rather than Nascar…. Meh.

    I feel a bit let down that while Kaz was on stage he didn’t even mention GT5. I guess it’s just been to long of a ride waitin for this game.

    Def going to get forza 3. Should keep me busy for another year or so till GT5 finaly decides to come out.

    Trashcar?? Really??? C’mon i really dont think the cheap beer drinkin, god fearin, kin-bangin demographic is into the GT series, it comes off as going outside of the niche to earn a little more money. If you want to play a trashcar game im pretty sure there is a whole series out there thats more in depth.

    The Forza3 trailer looks like a yawn fest in comparison. With a minimum of 3 racing series, I doubt there is any other coming racing game that will have the depth of GT5. I’d love to see a formula series thrown in for good measure, F1, F3, Indy? WRC with damage, that’s off the hook! I’d also love to see maybe some showroom stock, and lower forms of GT, maybe as part of a progression.

    Now the greatest news would be a December release in time for Christmas.

    What no one mentioned the awesome dubstep soundtrack in the trailer. Excited for this game will get the wireless steering wheel from Fanatec(sp) and a nice race setup.

    C’mon PD with the weather effects, Nascar/Rally racing in a heavy downpour, can we say epic.

    i’m not feeling the nascar aspect of the game either. but who knows, it could be fun.
    i’ll wait to play before i start dissing it. lets see what the release date is then add another 12 months to that:P

    there is a god and his name is kazunori yamauchi……and thank GOD he doesnt work for that mickey mouse american company called microsoft. on a different note, this can only be good news on the GT front, GTM looks astonishing considering the amount of power the PSP as and what can you say about GT5? someone get me a poet fgs coz i just simply havent got the words to sum up how good this game looks, it can only get better and as for release date it says this year so why cry? we’ve all got something to look forward to now, not least this and the next COD game…….360 hasnt a clue how to counter this game so long live the PS3

    I don’t like NASCAR either. To say it boring or it takes no skill is sillyness. NASCAR is like a chess match. Get into a good circle track race and try to win. Then tell me its boring. Your heart will be pumping and your palms will be sweaty. Every car goes about the same speed and they all handle the same. Then the question is: How do you win??? NASCAR takes equal or more skill then any other type of racing.

    Seriously? NASCAR?? You gotta be f*ing kidding me PD right? I dont care what you other guys say, NAPCAR is the gay. I wish they wouldn’t try appealing so much to us Americans, I doubt many GT fans are actually NASCAR fans as well. I can just see all the asians and europeans rolling their eyes at us for this. Sorry chaps. I would rather have PD focus on making other areas of the game better/getting the game out faster than adding the dryest, and the motorsport with the least substance IMHO compared to sports car, LM, JGTC, Rally etc. I want to test myself with whatever the road ahead can throw at me, I dont play GT to simulate a 500 mile drag race.

    This game looks amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So much so, it has surpassed Forza anything. You will probably have to shift focus to PC sims as comparisons! Whats made this series and the Forza series good for most is that they have always been a watered down sim. It looks like GT5 won’t be so watered down.

    i’ll tell ya what….for anyone that thinks stock car racing is easy as pie…go pick up ARCA sim racing for your PC, i bet it would make some people cry,lol….and that is not even based on the COT physics….hopefully PD has done their homework on the COT package….

    also daytona sucks,i hate restrictor crap racing….we need tracks like texas ,atlanta ,las vegas,michigan,etc etc etc and short tracks that depend alot on the driver/line…but i doubt that will ever happen…it will be awesome to see cup cars on GT tho….

    Let me just say I love GT5 Prologue replays, I could watch them all day, But lots of that trailer was intro/outro or CG, some of the WRC Imprezza was too, When has a driver ever been seen in a GT replay before !! There would be no point. Still cant wait though !!! The bits I think were in engine were the Toms Supra Etc, The Focus/Citroen WRC in the field and the cars on Tsukuba circuit and a few bits of the Nascar. What do you reckon ?

    I know the lack of a release date (so far) is disappointing to some but honestly think about it. Look at the trailer. There is more there than you think.

    Lets start with the obvious:
    WRC, Nascar, LMS, and JGTC
    There were some production cars that are new such as the MB SLR and 300 SL gull wing.
    Damage.
    New Environments.
    Fully animated pit crews.
    Actual pits.

    Now lets go to the not so obvious/(assumption):
    Sound: Listen to the tire squeal when the Nascar car pulls away. It sound like REAL tire squeal. Not to mention the engines sound a little bit better than previous GT games.

    Graphics: From what I could tell everything was in game (replay) EXCEPT the PD logo merging into the flags, the Nascar fire works scene and maybe when the cars were leaving the pits and the inside of the STi when it crashed. Other than that the rest looked like replay mode. Most likely touched up for the trailer but the game no less. There were some really nice lens flare effects. The car models look, as always, perfect. But the trees are still paper cut outs. Tire smoke and dirt effects still are meh. But the skylines (not that car) look stunning (reference aerial Nurburgring shot).

    Day/Night effects: Ok in case you missed it the Mazda and Audi LMS cars were driving at night (at I think Cirque De La Sarthe). The GTR JGTC car was also driving at the ring at what looked to be sun rise. To me this would at the very least signal day and night races if not selectable times of day or even full on day night cycles.

    Classic cars: They will be in GT5. Mazda 787B, MB 300 SL, etc to me this shows PD likes their classics. This is good.

    New types of tacks: To me it looked like when the rally cars start at a gate this gate does not look like a finish line… meaning some type of single path time trial stage.

    Top Gear test track: Yes it was there. I recognized it instantly. The last shot with the 787B and the R10(?) was at an airfield/port. There is only one airport I would think would be included in GT5. The Top Gear Test track. (yes this has been confirmed but never shown).

    Types of cars mean types of races: So far I have seen Japanes touring cars, Le Mans cars (new and classic) (classic le mans car races :D???), production cars (new and classic), drift cars, tuned cars and rally cars (so rally stages).

    Events: This could be a huge step forward in GT. To me the whole airplanes, fireworks and Nascar thing seem like some kind of staged event that PD directs. Normally you just go race. Same with the city streets. People were getting ready for the race. I am going to go out on a limb and say there will be cutscenes before major events like the Indy 500 and say “race London”. I know it is mostly just for this trailer but its just a guess.

    Actual gameplay: Yes when the rally cars were driving on the dirt road, it was actual game play. The way the cars moved seemed to be human controlled. Look at the US GT5p intro which has mostly gameplay. The cars move very similarly.

    So that is my full analysis. If I missed something tell me.

    I had to go to work at the 1 hour mark into Sony’s conf. so I set the rest to record on my DVR, but of course it had to storm at the time of this trailer and a few other things so it all got cut out, and I didnt even know it existed until a few minutes ago.

    Thankfully GTPlanet is awesome and has it waiting for me.

    I’m not trying to argue why certain things should or should not be in GT5 – just stating a personal opinion :D

    Also, I’m pretty sure that this trailer, while nothing much, is a whole lot better than what most of us were expecting at E3 – absolutely nothing. While we were ALL hoping for gameplay footage and/or a release date, truthfully I wasn’t expecting more than this trailer, if anything at all. So I’m fine!

    People! lets get some perspective here. Why is everyone so overwhelmed and excited about a pre-rendered movie?! There was NO real in-game footage.

    I have been waiting for years for this game to drop and its especially hard for me since I only have the ps3, but this little trailer is very disappointing. No details was given at all concerning the development of the game. The only thing that we do know is that damage will now finally be in the series, even though that wasn’t shown with in-game footage. Whoop-de-doooo! Damage is the least I would expect for a 2010 game. I like to consider myself a GT fan since the beginning but some of you sure are being taken for a ride by this pitiful showing. Anyone can make an animated trailer of fast cars. Some of you please stop thinking that KY/PD have done you proud with this poor showing, especially to all those loyal and patient GT fans among us.

    What people need to realize is that Nascar is a race car that needs to have its place in the Gran Turismo series.

    850+ horsepower, slick tires, etc… Seriously, that just screams out power and excitement!

    Could be weather but could also just have certain tracks to be programmed to always look cloudy, etc… who knows.

    Also, I don’t like NASCAR so I’m not impressed with that at all – but WRC = WIN!!!! I was hoping they’d have F1 thrown in there too with all that but I guess that’s too much to ask :P

    I’m pretty sure everything in there is “in-game”, remember where talking about PD here, maybe some camera angle to make it look good, but all in all is in-game. And forza kids stop flaming in here and get the F***K out in this news.

    they are still using sound effects for the cars in these trailers… they used a sound from a ferrari 360 in e3 2008 for a mercedes slr in e3 2009 trailer…PD can never make the cars sound great

    I hope there’s atleast one more oval track for NASCAR because Daytona is a bit boring. Lowe’s Motorspeedway would be great… but will NASCAR races hold a whole field of 43 cars?

    Guys, at least we got something :) Just when we were beginning to lose hope.

    I was excited about the Forza 3 trailer yesterday but this is even better! I always thought Forza had an edge over GT due to damage and such but now that GT is going ahead with it, it may end up being better. Plus GT has rallying again which I really enjoy and yet Forza lacks… looks like WRC has something to do with it too!

    Whats the point of this? No date…once more PD could think on the fans. A fancy trailer no doubt, but this is just taking tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long. Trailers are very beautiful, I guess GT5 will not pass of that.
