An early walkthrough this morning of the GamesCom show floor has revealed Gran Turismo 5 will be in playable form today. There are clearly two different types of displays for the game: one featuring PSP’s, and the other with steering wheels and HDTV’s. We also have further confirmation from the Japanese “Express” magazine, which states that “”GT5 will be playable at Gamescom and next will be at Tokyo Game Show.” Check out the video after the jump to get a closer look at the Gran Turismo booth (visible after 1:25)!

GT5:P is the clearest driving game gameplay there is. Forza 3 is just hardcore arcade compared to it. :)

Look closely at the picture showing the backside of the screen: it shows ‘Gran Turismo 5’ without ‘Prologue’.
when they say gt5 does that just mean prologue or actual gt5 when damage and nascar etc.????

This is looking mighty awesome so far. ILooks like as I said, GT5 is here at Gamescon. And Wiseguy, you mind telling me what relevent point would there be to put GT5 Prologue here? If you would have noticed, there also wasn’t a “Prologue” shown either so it looks like you’re the one missing the signs here.

Now that the game is there I actually don’t care about a release date I am very very happy with some gameplay to drool over. I think TGS is when we get a release date. Of course the sooner the better. But for a game of this calibur I can wait. I’d like to thank everyone on the forums for digging a lot of information up leading towards this event. Well done guys :)
