Gran Turismo 5’s Complete Feature List Revealed

This is it, folks: Polyphony Digital has finally published the complete and comprehensive list of features in GT5. A quick scan actually doesn’t reveal any major bombshells that most of you regular GTPlanet readers don’t already know, but it’s a nice overview, regardless. Start reading here on the official site.

By the way, I was at troll city … I mean IGN.com and MAN the stuff people are saying about GT5 is LAUGHABLE. Some even went so far as to say NFS: HP is BETTER all-around than GT5!!! Of course Forza 3 is “better” is also mentioned quite heavily.

Its called jealousy, its easier to talk crap then it is to admit your wrong and call GT5 what is, the best most feature packed racing game ever. Let em hate, why their busy playing Forskin and wishing their mommy’s and daddy’s would get them a PS3 so they could get GT5, we’ll be playing the best racing game ever, end of.

I post on ign quite regularly. Go the Gran Turismo board. People there are sensible. Where you are going are pretty much the fanboy lobbies.

On a side not I find it interesting that they say this, indicating more updates and leaving us a glimmer of hope that some updates containing more features will be made available:
“*The service for remote race is planned to made available in December 2010.” aka. update coming December

There is definitely downloadable content. The CE has codes to put in for dlc. I sure can’t wait to see when new cars start popping up. Koenigsegg, the VW Scirocco R (weird this didn’t make the game but a VW bus does), Caparo T1, Ascari A10, Caddy CTS-V sedan+coup, Audi RS4 (the last one), RS5, TT-RS (heck Audi’s performance lineup period), Aston Martin V12 DBS (PLAIN weird this isn’t in the first cut); there is a LOT of dlc opportunities. I sure hope PD FINALLY gets Porsche. The Carrara GT, Cayman S, 911 (pick one) would be AWESOME.

I sure can’t wait to see when the ridiculous prices start popping up.

I mean, if it’s $3 for a T-shirt in Home, how much for a car?

      Suck Fony!

I also received an email from GameStop. A few more hours, YAY! I’m so excited I think tomorrow it’ll be a long day at school.

    1. lado

Ouu yes first the school, then my english class test on friday and then i hope GT5 lies in my post box or the courier will give it to me personal. :D

p.s. my calender swapped to 24 November. GT5 Day begins

    1. RTSolvalou

Welp! That has to be a typo, surely they mean Premium. Why would you even change the wheels on the premium exotics? :@

Well, it took me over an hour just to read through the list of features – I think this game should be worth my sixty bucks :)

The track creator looks pretty interesting – a couple of the themes will include elevation changes, which I was hoping for. Eifel is in the area of the Nurburgring, and Mt. Aso is on the perimeter of a volcano.

I have just received, at this moment, a text message from GameStop. It says: Your Gran Turismo 5 order avail Wed AM. GREAT!!!

One of the trophies was for collecting all 256 paint colors. It seems that the colors are selected from certain cars. I would have liked to have a color wheel (such as those found on any computer paint program) so we could make our own custom colors… or the ability to use a color on any car in the game, but it doesn’t seem like that will be the way that it is done for GT5.

    2. Detroitbb

      ^^^
It depends on how many different shades are included. If it’s 87 versions of red, then I’ll be saddened. That would end up being like the 1000+ GT5 cars… you think it’s cool until you find out that the number includes 157 Nissan Skylines, 128 Honda NSXs, 142 Mazda Miatas/MX-5s, and 393 versions of the Subaru Impreza and the Mitsubishi Lancer.

  7. George Washington

    on head tracking:

“This feature is only compatible with the interior dash view of Premium Cars.”

    F*** A MONKEY!!!!!!!!

  8. Maxitsu

No hood-view and/or cockpit-view for all cars and the disappointed track-list is unforgivable.

    The other things are amazing!

  9. George Washington

They are honest about the tracks saying “some tracks feature…” but they make no hint about the two classes of cars. If you bought the game assuming that all cars would have “the incredible cockpit view camera” etc I think you’d be pretty pissed. I’m not bitching about it personally but look how deceptive it is not to specify that only 20% of the “ONE THOUSAND CARS” are “as advertised”. Just saying.

    1. Shaun (isocuda)

Not really sure why they can’t give us a hood view for all cars, that’d my preferred view, prey for updates

    1. Tripotiou

yes you go on the seting and lookon the audio and there you have choce music or active you music, but you have to selec a album to play. I hope it will help you because the game is in french so i try to transelt. Good luck

  10. ChunKie

Oh darn…you can start B-Spec remote races on gran-turismo.com, but you must have PS3 turned on and GT5 set to remote race screen. It makes perfect sense, of course…but that means I can’t do 6 hours remote races while I’m sleeping every night. ><

  11. wsoul

I don’t think the list is complete exactly. The Stig Challenge was missing from the Special Events page. Wasn’t it announced that it would be there before? I think they are hiding some surprises…

    1. Shaun (isocuda)

You will notice compared to earlier screenshots, there are quite a few more choices on the events page, I’m sure if you scroll right there will be more

    1. BRC-IVORBIGUN

I wouldn’t get too excited because PD have missed one very important feature. The fact there is no leaderboards is laughable. Even bog standard arcade racing games have these. I really don’t understand it and im afraid PD haven’t moved with the times. Lets hope an update will provide these otherwise I shall be extremely disappointed. Sorry but only having private/open lobbies is very basic these days!

    2. V8Blender

ah relax. they probably didn’t mention it because they don’t see it as much of an important feature as it’s almost standard in all online games at this stage. they wouldn’t leave something like that out… (i hope)..

    3. Detroitbb

One would ‘hope’ that Polyphony Digital would have included something as basic as a leaderboard, but they disappointed us before… and I’m sure they’ll do it again.

    1. Lars

Can anyone confirm whether we are able to bring credits over from GTP to GT5 the way you could from GT3 to GT4? I’ve searched the forums and can’t find any info at all on it.

    2. lado

      AAHH 2 hours 14 minutes! :D
I saw that some french magazine made a test about GT5 and they just gave GT5 70% ???

      I thought i read wrong… it´s disappointing…
I hope i will get my copy this days i pre ordered it at a german online seller. I´m sure GT5 is more worthwhile than the tests will say!!

      GT5 ++24.11.2010++

    3. Stu

They also broke the embargo posting a review before they could have delved into the online features, complained about GT5 being too difficult and only aimed at GT/sim players, oh, and marked it lower than GT5P.

    4. lado

Yeah…agree. Finally when the whole game is unlocked with all its features they can judge about it and grouse! Its a racing game which is specified on real time physics and graphics of the cars. They complain about some 2D trees and some shadows which show some steps. A game is made by humans and we aren´t perfect..so some defects aren´t to take so seriuos! Also complaining about sounds is ridiculous. Some cars haven´t so great sounds, but the sounds of the V8 and V12 and the rest are made the best they were able to.

Just look forward to play my favourite game!
