Oh my god!! I just came back from Madrid where my girlfriend is – and woooooow, I saw almost every monument from de the GT5 Madrid track ; banco de Espana, Puerta de Alacala, banco espanol de credito, Tio Pepe – it’s funny because I have pics in front of each of those, and it matches the real thing soooooo much, it’s totally incredible!! I loved madrid, and the track looks just so fun and fabulous!!!! =) =) Can’t wait for november!!

I think PD is still holding a few cards up their sleeve for when the game is released, and I do hope their hiding dynamic weather. I mean c’mon, dynamic day and night? The two go hand in hand, and PD have been toying with wet tracks for years now, you know they want dynamic weather, but the game still has to low you out of your seat when you buy it! Their not going to reveal everything!

    1. aelange

And I think the addition of low-high beams is a top notch idea! I’ve always wanted to flash the other drivers for whatever reason, and this will make communication I think somewhat easier.

    2. Bernd

That’s good news, because no Rallye-driver would want to race with such poor lighting as shown in the vid, seriously.
I think, high-beam in RL shows almost 100yds or meters ahead, how else could you dare driving 140mls per hour in the forest at night ?

  3. psn id: Astro_BS-AS

Hey, guys, there is a LOW-HIGH mode for headlights. So Don`t worry about “poor” lighting. In the videos HIGH headlights are not shown.
Confirmed in an interview with IGN. and headtracking too.

“As expected, the visuals in GT5 are looking seriously impressive. The day/night transitions are smooth and dramatic, and the addition of high/low beam headlights brings a real race feel to night driving.”

Rome feels like a very short ride, doesn’t it..

What’s up with the Appearance of Vettel in the video, is that to say that More F1 Cars will be featured in GT5, or is it just a little fake to make people Not buying the Codemasters upcoming F1 Game, which is looking amazing, and has a lot more interesting Race features then GT5 has..

GT5 isn’t all there is in my world, I for one will still be Racing other race games, as GT5 is getting all to pretty for me – Night Rally but not as Codriver pacenotes driving, but with lots of Neon direction arrows (boring)
Nascar No Thank you- Hmm Not much left then a simple Race Game in HD… Is that enough!!

Embedded videos were removed at the request of Gamersyde. Just click on the links that I’ve replaced them with…

  5. Dom

They don’t give out the demo because it’s probably still not the final gameccode and the reactions would be rather bad anyway, considering that not much has changed since the last time trial demo. And of course, PD wants to offer GT5 in November without a negative hype, because most casual gamers won’t be satisfied, considering the 6 years of development time by then…

Anyway, I think GT5 will face a hard time in terms of reviews and reactions but it still will sell like crazy. I personally think it’s ok to be critical with Sony, Kaz and PD, but then, they are only human and I am sure they tried their very best. My wishlist is pretty long for GT6 already, but GT5 should be released – and we should play it for a couple of years – first, before we all start to cry again like little babies.
GT6 for PS4 will improve lots of things for sure, but for now we better be happy with Prologue (YES, I still do my daily laps).

  6. Mpower

are you all realy dum ? Premium cars mean that they will have the cockpit DEFORMED when they have accidents.
BUT ALL CARS WILL HAVE INTERIOR VIEW!
i don’t know who’s the genuis who first said that only 200 cars would have cockpit view, i mean comon think with your brains, it’s Gt5.
and by the way all the cars in prologue had interior view, so now just think 5sec before saying SHIT
and by the way i’m realy happy to see that release date :)

  7. shazam

Damage is weak(or actually not present), only 200 interior views, no weather
It’s just to little to late.

  8. deano

is the c63 amg in the game please somebody tell me and also tell me is the lambroghini murchilago in the game because it in e3 vid

  9. Iron Maiden

They had interior view for a freaking suzuki cappuccino in GT5P… sure enough, all cars will have interior view, but not all of the 1000ish will have damage models for the interior. Who will be racing a Yaris for more than 2-3 races anyway. I’m 99% Kaz’s translator is the reason for all that confusion.

  10. harispao

After what I saw so far my only hope for REAL sim is the wrc 2010 from the company that made the outstanding Richard Burns Rally.
After 3 and more years PD is not yet able to put damage tire marks and REAL night driving like strong headlights to see the road in frond of the car like the race cars.anyone can see night racing that the headlights are reall strong
Who drives a car and the headlights are in the mid possition???I hope that it will be a choice to change that.Nice grafics I thing better sound but…will see…

  11. CeeJay

Holy cow that Rome circuit is so short! I hope that’s just one small variation of Rome… yikes, it’s like 4 corners. o_O (And even with the super easy layout that guy still couldn’t avoid the walls. i’m no pro but good gosh, use your brakes!!!!)

  12. lalaurentide

WOW! Gotta say tho that rally cars light up more than that on night racing, it looks more like low beams on a street car.

  13. Marcus

Heres one for you. I don’t thik anybody has mentioned it yet. What about the track editor. Is it in and if so can you make it in day or night.

  14. KilzoneGeneralStrife

The E3 trailer answered a few questions,a big one being dynamic day/night cycles..Im more worried about only 200 cars having interior view.. ,God please let that be wrong.I’d sacrifice damage to have all cars have interiors.it would feel incomplete with interiors.especially after Prologue.

    1. Shokz

I just guess he must have missed the release date, trailer, screenshots and gameplay videos… It’s an easy thing to do, i mean it’s not like he’s commenting in an article about them right now or anything.

    2. sprint

we get very good things, i agree
but it’s not a real annoucement, demos playing at E3 doesn’t even implement damages… we got only one rally track wich is poor when you refer to WRC licence announced long time ago… the trailer shows small pieces of what they promised but it’s not as professional as before (aliasing, poor damage, wacky day/night pictures, …)
Ok, we saw lot of things but communcation is as usual a disaster: a poor 2min trailer at sony conference. Excuse but that’s called a fail. We need a complete illustration of the full release. With real footage, not captured with phones by users. That’s not professional.
Just tell me what official data is given to us. Not so much, it’s a real investigation that is lead on GTplanet forums.

  15. KilzoneGeneralStrife

Hey guys, the premium vs standard debate is up again..apparently,Eurogamer states only 2 hundred cars have cockpit view..and 800 wont? …I dont know if what they meant was 200 would have internal cockpit damage..and all would have interior modelling? Check it out and enlighten me pleeease

    1. [The Stig]

I am fu.ked up with this question too mate.
in some older magazine they said that there will be cockpit for all cars, but 170 premium will have interior damage.later in some interview they sad not all cars will have cockpit.now eurogamer says ‘only 200 with cockpit, other 800 without cockpit and these cars worth nothing’………
now what I think,in prologue all cars have cockpit and full game will not?sounds bullshit
making today a racing simulator without cockpit is NOT RIGHT
and if this is true it will be the biggest disappointment for me :/
      I hope it is a translation mistake….

  16. Iron Maiden

To answer your question Paulo, it’s because people that are allowed in are business owners, publishers and people from the industry (IGN, Gamespot, etc). General Public isn’t allowed.

My boss is there right now but even though he owns a 15 million $ company, he sucks at racing. I brought my G25 over earlier this year and no one could do a clean lap. I was supposed to go with them this year to replace someone but he showed up like a week before E3.

  17. Shokz

Not too happy that he bumped into that orange mesh cordon in Toscana like it was a solid wall still :/ I hoped they would have changed that by now to allow you to drive through them… Like every rally game for the last six or seven years.

    1. Bernd

I’m not sure, may be some kind of philosophy at PD, not to allow that. Grand Canyon would become pure horror with soft barriers, I think

  18. rgt5uk

ok i have had time to digest the new footage, and i think it looks amazing but…….

PD release a chuffing demo on psn especially when no EU date has been given i mean if i had the money to go to E3 i would but guess what i haven’t so come on! even charge a £1 for the privilege of downloading it that would make a bit of money. how many people do you think would pay a £1?? a million well that only 59 million to make back when the game is released. Is that a good idea or is it just me being stupid people???

  19. Alex

I noticed that the reverse lights of the lp560-4 are working which means that finally we will have the reverse lights working on all cars. Lambo video at around 1:16. Also, you can see some damage on the lambo at around 1:40 when the bumper is almost off.

  20. Paulo

Yea i really don’t understand who’s capturing these videos and why the player is always so bad at driving. Can it be possible that there is at least a handful of people who can capture video and at least know how to keep the car straight, unbelievable. The game is looking great but watching these vids hurts.

    1. Berlino Bear

No there wont. Its just a surface type like in GT4 surely. I dont think you get much snow in Tuscany.

  21. Paulie

I’d love to see some interior views of driving the muscle cars. I mean damn, is it so hard to pick something out of the ordinary of what we’ve already seen? I’ve spent the last 3yrs of my life driving a 135i from the interior, show us some older cars!

  22. JackistheStig

much better crash physics when the black corvette gets hit in vid 3, im guessing the car being driven is an M5

  23. Bolg

My God this game is looking amazing. I think I’ll be distracted by the beutiful scenery when I first play it rather than concenrating on the driving.

    1. marcus

no eu release yet but then again e3 is in america. Expect a release date in the next week and for it to be about a month quicker than america. Jordan can you get the Top Gear test track on please? thank you.

  24. Organ-Donor

    Sorry off topic

    @JohnMarine
Are you the same guy that did Gran Tuismo youtube videos? IF so highfive I was a viewer/subscriber

  25. Bram87

@ rgt5uk: I have, It sucks! The only thing you can see is the trailer, not worth the hassle I would say.
Does anybody know if there will be a demo coming?

    1. rgt5uk

thats a shame would of been nice to try the demo within home. the only thing we can hope for is that thursday their is a 20min private showing with kaz (so i have read somewhere)

  26. rgt5uk

Hello all im wondering if anyone has tried playstation home to see what the sony booth is like? that has been recreated.

  27. Erik

Looks great! Looks like the headlights are dipped (half-light), but maybe that is because it’s not fully black. I really like how the road signs reflects the light, I’m gonna do a lot of night rally in November ^^

  28. marcus

I’m nit picking here but does rome really have all those trees. Apart from that i would gladly have sex with this game

    1. marcus

also no sound. I think the only let down for me is the lack of proper rally courses and point to point racing. That is only because the original trailer had WRC written on it and i assumed their must be some career mode in it

  29. John Marine

Okay… I’m glad to see Rome return for Gran Turismo 5, but being a Gran Turismo veteran of ten years, part of me wants to see this course AND the classic Rome street course we remember so well in GT2 and GT3. I’m very slightly disappointed that we don’t have some sort of point-to-point rally course. Still, Toscana is a lovely addition to the GT5 lineup. Finally, the Madrid course looks and seems like Opera Paris. Opera Paris, but faster.

Great job by everyone who captured this stuff!

    1. Paul T

I agree, I would definately like to see the old rome track as well. It adds extra interest and depth to the game to have different circuilts at the same location, like the lemans bugatti circuit, or the nurburgring GP circuit.

I would say PD will not let us down on tracks tho (I hope) since the ones we’ve seen already look spectacular, i cant wait for night driving in the green hell!!

    2. Bernd

Yeah, same her,I’d also like to see the GT2 course. But we have only seen a fraction of the game so far, maybe we get Rome and our beloved S11 and Red Rock, who knows ?

    3. LoneWanderer

so true, i miss the old rome. i even miss the old short version because it’s suited for smaller cars. plus we need our beloved R11, Red Rock Valley, Grindelwald, etc.

  30. Outrunn

one second it is fine and normal looking, then when ever you go on a link sometimes it will do it

  31. Outrunn

ok am i the only one who seems to be noticing that certian parts of this redesigned website is in uber widescreen? it just dosent look natural.

  32. freshseth83

waaahh! the lights aren’t bright enough! waaahh! the wheel doesn’t turn 360! waaahh!

Oh hush up you babies. GT5 has exceeded all expectations! Damage, check! Rally at night, check! Rally at day to night, double check!

Awesomeness is what GT5 is. New info tomorrow on G4TV! YES!

  33. JBO!

lol gosh man u guys always find some thing to poke at wat other racing game has night racing???or day/night cycle?…pause ..wait for it wait for it…none!!…exactly..!.not yet, forza will copy it next title….the lights on the cars look good enought besides how many of u have been in a rally car…wait 4 it…..lol…NONE…if u want a video game to feel like real life it never will..just get your lazy asses of the couch n build ya race car so u can stop complaining…..gt5 looks awesome ..n the fact that we r getting even soon than we thought is better….just be happy its finally here n its looking great!

    1. twinspark24

I guess you’ve been a rally car at night and you can positively say that headlights are completely realistic?

    2. twinspark24

What do you mean the game is here? Whre is it? Is the disc in your console? NO

So until it’s HERE, don’t tell me it’s perfect. Because it isn’t- an Evo X makes a huge crash, rolls over, but the metal is intact? WTF

Last time they gave a realease date for a specifict continent (Japan march 2010) do you remember what happened?

  34. twinspark24

I looks like rolling starts are here to stay…What a pity
Does anyone of you want to start a mile away from the first car?

I completely agree with Dave The Stalker- without racing line I wouldn’t be able to see the road at all. I do hate night driving in real life, btw

  35. Dom

Only 8 cars on track is not good, especially for races like LeMans, the Nordschleife or all the Nascar events. I do hope we see more cars on track in the final game, especially for endurance races, where overtaking slower cars is cruical (so it’s fine when only 8 cars are visible on track at once, but at least fill the straights with slower cars).

Visually, I think it still looks mostly like Prologue, which is not bad considering it will be running in 3D as well.
However, I don’t care about the sureal city tracks like London, Rome and so on. I need real world tracks like Silverstone, Spa, Sonoma, Monza, Laguna Seca and Barcelona.
Now that the have shown Adrian Newey and Hangar 7 (Salzburg) in the trailer, I have hopes that the airodynamics (slipstream) will be improved.

    1. jBat17

only 8 cars is good enough for flopza to get 9.5/10’s

gt5 will have a 16-player online MP. Single player should be able to replicate that easily.

we are talking about the ps3 here, not some inferior hardware like the 3fixme.

  36. DaveTheStalker

EXACTLY!!! Rally cars have 4 times or more the lighting power of an ordinary car. And yes I have seen night racing. You can’t tell me with a straight face that purpose built racing vehicles have weaker lights than passenger vehicles.

  37. Gamer GT5

Looks awesome! I forgot about GT5 doesn’t have the 360 degree wheel turn. But anyways who cares. They should just work on that on GT6.

  38. DaveTheStalker

Those headlight beams are terrible!!! My RAV4 lights the road better. Let’s hope they fix it

    1. idlestation

I’m going to guess you’ve never seen rally racing.. -_-
The video shows the road realistically, and its very comparable to rally racing at night.

Besides, your “RAV4” lights are there for casual driving… where as the rally car lights are there for racing.

    2. FORZA_SUCKS

dont start sayin fix. u want to wait for 2 more year for this 1 game… c,mon dude it looks bad ass. b happy

    3. Philmangt

remember that you dont have reflective paint in a rally stage like you do on a normal road. thats why you cant see as far

  39. spats

The new AI looks vastly improved. They actually break or swerve around instead of ramming into you at full speed.

  40. RedBaron

I am pleasantly and unpleasantly surprised. New track have stunning visual quality but they are boring as hell from perspective of a racer. The Rome circuit is very, very short without any twisties and Madrid seems to be the same, only for show. While dawn at Toscana is fantastic, I can see the same poor rally we saw for years, without distinctive surface again.

    1. Hampus

Then why don´t you just go hang yourself instead of complaining like the rest of the idiots..

Always something to complain about and it makes me sick.

  41. Organ-Donor

Looks fantastic. Night driving in cockpit will be amazing with the dashboard lights lighting up. Cant wait to see more!
